A Traveler's Legend: Leisurely Living My Life In A Normal World

After Vasco Strada took Shin with him, he led him out of the dojo and out of the training facility-like building. This place is very near the Vatican so a lot of devotees and tourists are around. Thus, Vasco left Shin to his servants as he went towards the place they are going using his fast speed.

He said that he wanted Shin to know the way to go to the place they are going to train from now on and the way back to the training facility. It seems that he knew he didn't want to leave his friends there for a long time. That's especially true for Irina. Shin haven't spent enough time with her yet.

Walking a few ways away from the facility, they passed across the needlessly huge square. It was extremely huge, making him wonder why this place is so needlessly huge. He had lived in the Tenma house for more than 7 years now and he got used to living in a place where it is enough for them to comfortably move around.

'Why is this place so needlessly huge? I'm glad I was able to stay in Heaven. People there are humble and kind. Even Raphiel's family, who are well known for being rich, are living in a fairly small house,' Shin thought.

While he was thinking about pointless things, Shin slightly bumped into the maid who is guiding him.

"Aw aw aw, sorry ma'am!" Shin apologized.

"It's okay, boy. We're already here so we should go and enter," the maid said.

Upon hearing this, Shin looked up. There, he saw the most needlessly huge house that he ever witnessed in his life. It was so huge that Shin thought the plot of land is around the size of a stadium.

'Can people be any more impractical? Please, no one would want to clean this up! That's why he hired a maid in the first place, probably! *sigh* I wonder if His Eminence have too much money to spend that he built a huge a.s.s house like this, just to give pocket money to the maids. Or maybe, His Eminence was just that kind hearted to build this huge house in order to have an excuse on 'paying' them,' Shin thought.

While he was thinking of those things, him and the maid continued to walk inside the 'palace'. It took them 10 whole minutes to finally arrive inside the mansion's entrance, where Vasco Strada is waiting.

"You saw the size of my place, right? Well, considering that you live in 'that' place, I bet you feel like this place is needlessly huge, right?" Vasco asked with a kind smile on his face.

"Mm, it's entire size is pointless, if you ask me," Shin said honestly.

"You know, boy, you shouldn't be too honest," Vasco said while giving Shin a shocked look.

"This is just for defensive purposes, yup! A bigger target won't be destroyed so easily by the enemies," Vasco added, seemingly trying to think up of an excuse.

Shin looked at him suspiciously as he said,

"Really? If you did put a defensive barrier around this place, wouldn't it be too spread out and thin? A smaller space would make the barrier stronger and harder to destroy. I bet a person with high class strength could destroy the barrier around here if they put their mind to it," Shin analyzed.

Yes, Shin can see the mana that is surrounding the place. Thus, he concluded that it was a barrier magic that was placed by the church or whatever. Like he said, the barrier was too spread out that it could be destroyed by a full power attack of a high class Devil.

"What do you know, you brat!? This is a man's romance! You get me!? ROMANCE!" Vasco bellowed as the normally kind and calm Cardinal Priest finally snapped at the little boy's remark.

He felt hurt that a child at Shin's age is criticizing his childhood's hopes and dreams. Building such a huge castle is one of a man's romance, yes? No man would just stay passive if their childhood dream which was finally realized is being criticized by a seven year old kid.

But, seemingly unperturbed by a Cardinal Priest and the said to be Humanity's Apex, Shin continued to speak his mind honestly. Living among the Angels has opened his mind to the word called 'practicality' and 'prudence'. Although he too want a huge a.s.s mansion like this in the future, he was far too disappointed by the lack of any effective defense.

Comparing it with the training facility, this mansion's defense is close to nonexistent. He could surmise that the magic put in both places are similar so this is most certainly the problem with the size.

"What would you do if your so called, "Man's Romance" were destroyed by a single attack, though? I bet it wouldn't feel too good, right, Your Eminence?" Shin said as he spoke in his high pitched and childish voice.

Every maids and butlers around were even surprised when they saw this spectacle. A little boy who is only around 6-7 years old is arguing with a 2 meter tall and muscular old man. They even stopped their work for a moment as they watched with bated breath to see who will win in their debate. It is their first time seeing the master of this house argue with someone.

"If you will build a house this big, please consider upgrading the defense or at least spread it out. Put a barrier on each section and don't just put a barrier on the whole thing. It will be such a shame if your 'childhood hopes and dreams' were to be destroyed, sir," Shin said politely.

Hearing this, Vasco was enlightened. Hey, why didn't he thought of putting a barrier on each section? Was he that stupid? Of course not! Then how come he was defeated in a battle of words against a 7 years old boy?

Sighing at himself for overlooking such a detail, Vasco thought to himself,

'I better ask 'them' to strengthen the barrier around the house and divide it to different areas. The boy is right, the barrier has little to no use at all.'

A few hours after their 'talk' in front of the mansion, Shin and Vasco is now on a very wide training room. In front of Shin is a dummy with some red dots on its c.h.e.s.t, head, and neck.

"Alright. As a start to your training, I want you to hit the targets on the dummy a thousand times each without missing. If you miss, the dummy will reset the counter and will start from the very beginning," Vasco said.

"You will have to learn this stance, and how to stab properly," Vasco said while showing a stance to Shin and stabbing the sword to the dummy's c.h.e.s.t.

Seeing this, Shin just nodded. As for body training, Shin remembered that he have a realm that he can go to. He haven't checked nor entered this said realm as the past month was very hectic. He didn't have the leeway to bother with it at that time.

'I'll check it later this evening,' he thought as he made a mental note of this.

Shin then looked at the dummy as he thought that this task will be harder than normal. Well, all because his height is a tad bit shorter than the dummy.

It should be said that Shin is taller than most kids his age. This is the reason why the girls, even the older girl Rana, thought of him as an older brother. Aside from him being slightly more m.a.t.u.r.e than them, Shin is also taller.

Looking at the target dummy in front of him, Shin got into the stance that Vasco told him to do. Then, he slowly started to focus, trying to once again enter 'that' state. If he don't exploit it, what should he do with it? It's not like he would lose any stamina by having it active, anyway.

When Shin opened his eyes, his atmosphere changed. The carefree boy who was bickering with the Cardinal Priest earlier was nowhere to be found. Instead, a cold and emotionless little boy was now standing in front of the dummy.

Feeling that the atmosphere around the boy changed like what happened in the training earlier, Vasco was shocked. He thought that it was a state that the boy unconsciously entered but, seems like he was wrong.

While on the stance that Vasco told him, Shin started thrusting his sword towards the target dummy to get the feel.

*stab*

*Tu-Tut! Try Again!*

'My aim deviated a bit. My hold on the sword hilt shook a bit. Again!' Shin thought as he started to stab the c.h.e.s.t part of the dummy non-stop.

Vasco just watched on the sidelines, trying to see if the boy can pull off something that not even him managed to pull off at Shin's current age. While he was watching, he became more and more amazed at the boy's learning speed and his adaptability.

'This boy is improving at a very scary speed. At this rate, he can probably finish this task in just one or two weeks!' Vasco thought while looking at Shin.

Slowly but surely, Shin improved his stance, stabbing motion, balance, aim, and everything that he saw as his flaw. He would continuously correct the errors that he committed as he tried to perfect this simple stabbing motion.

*stab*

'A little bit more. My aim was off for a few millimeters! There's no room for errors! I have to remove wasted movements!' Shin thought as he stabbed the dummy.

While he was immersed on perfecting his stabbing motion, an old man's voice suddenly called out to him. This made him miss his mark and exit his focused state.

"Oi! Shin boy! You've been stabbing that dummy for 9 hours straight now. Let's go and eat first. Griselda might get angry if she heard I didn't feed you in time," Vasco said.

*stab*

*Tu-Tut! Try Again!*

"*sigh*, You ruined my concentration, Your Eminence," Shin said.

'I need to improve on this as well. I have to not get distracted so easily,' Shin thought inwardly.

Meanwhile, Vasco just ignored Shin's comment and thought,

'This kid, he's been doing the same motion for almost 10 hours but he's continuously improving. I never even saw changes on his stance after all this time!'

While having some trivial conversation, Shin and Vasco walked towards the dining room where they will eat their dinner. While walking towards it, he couldn't help but once again think,

'This house is just so needlessly huge.'

After eating dinner at the dining room of Vasco Strada's mansion, Shin was guided by a maid towards his temporary room. He would be staying here for quite some time so Vasco gave him a room to use.

When he got inside, Shin dove onto the soft bed and immediately talked to his trusty kuudere companion, Yuki.

『You think the Cardinal Priest wouldn't notice that I left my room? I want to enter inside that realm,』 Shin asked.

『No? You could just enter using your soul form. It wouldn't be any different than entering inside the realm with your body,』 Yuki replied.

『Hmm, that's convenient! Then, can you show me the description of this realm?』 Shin asked.

『Mm, of course. Here,』 Yuki replied.

A secret realm that is tailored to fit the Elemental Fox race. After being connected with the sacred gear, the realm is now in a soul contract with the user's soul. Inside it, the user can only remain for a maximum of 8 hours(current world's time). The flow of time inside the realm is different, its time being in a 1:8 ratio with the normal time speed of the world. Since the flow of time inside is 8 times faster than the time outside, the realm prevents the aging of the user's body from being affected by it(if he so wishes to). Only authorized individuals can enter the realm.

『Looks good! This means that I can remain for almost 3 days everyday. I wonder if this can also be upgraded?』 Shin said.

『Hmm, it can be upgraded but the requirements are still unknown,』 Yuki said.

『And, you can enter it anytime you want. You just have to mentally will it and you will be s.u.c.k.e.d inside it,』 Yuki added.

『Heh, heh! Then, here I come!』 Shin said as he mentally willed for him to enter the realm that was specially made for him.

Shin clicked on yes and waited for his soul to enter this so called 'reality realm'. Well, he didn't have to wait for a long time. A split second after he clicked on 'yes', a multicolored portal s.u.c.k.e.d his soul in, which made him quite dizzy.

When he opened his eyes, he saw a very beautiful spectacle in front of him. A forest full of tall trees, patches of extremely beautiful and fragrant flowers, a fountain with the statue of small foxes, and a very tall wall with a huge gate.

He marveled at the sight he saw, inwardly praising the place.

'I wonder if I will get more awesome rewards after spinning the gacha and opening those Mystery Boxes? I want to hold on it for a bit longer and open them when I get more of it so...,' Shin thought.

But, suddenly, he was woken up from his inner thoughts by a cute and childish voice.

"Welcome to the Elemental Fox Reality Realm, Onii-sama! Wafu!" a cute voice said.

Shin nearly jumped in surprise when he suddenly heard someone call him out. He looked around to see who just called him, leading him to look below. When he did, he saw a very cute snow white fox with golden eyes and a tuft of white fur with a slight pinkish tone that forms a swirl on its forehead.

Its voice has a higher pitch than Shin and, using his enhanced sense of smell, he smelled something very fragrant and pleasant to his nostrils. This made him know that this little fox in front of him is a female.

Knowing this, he crouched down and picked up the little darling, bringing it up to his eye level. He smiled gently at it and asked,

"Hello little cutie! Do you have a name?"

Upon hearing his question, the little fox just shook its head.

"Ummm, give me a name, Onii-sama! Wafu!" the little fox said.

"Hmm? Why do you call me Onii-sama?" Shin asked.

"It's because Onii-sama is Onii-sama wafu!" the little fox answered.

"Huh? That doesn't answer my question at all," Shin said.

He just showed a helpless smile as he just decided to not ask this little creature about this. It seems like she doesn't even know why she herself called him that.

"Anyway, a name... huh... What would be a great name for you? Hmmm..." Shin murmured.

He completely forgot the purpose of why he was here.

"Oh! I know! I'll name you as Lilian! Do you like it?" Shin asked.

"Yes! Lilian is now Lilian! Wafu wafu! Lilian is happy!" the little fox, now named Lilian, said.

"Alright. Now that you have a name, why are you here little Lilian?" Shin asked.

"Hmm? Lilian is here because she manages this realm, you know?" Lilian said while tilting her head cutely.

"Really?"

That was the only word that Shin could say at the moment.

"Yes! Lilian will guide Onii-sama inside the realm! Follow Lilian, Onii-sama!" Lilian said as she began to trot towards the huge gate.

"Uh, okay, I guess?" Shin said as he followed behind the little fox.
