Chapter 185 The Rookie's First Battle

When he first entered Coastal Avenue, a strange old man came over and said a few words to Aberdell. Just when the other two were puzzled, Henry bowed slightly. He knew very well that this old man wearing a wizard hat was the famous legendary mage Elminster.

After saying goodbye to the old mage, the group hurried to the northeast. Along the way, Aimeng pestered other people to tell stories. Henry was so forced that he had no choice but to adapt the stories he knew and tell her. This eccentric girl would ask some unbelievable questions from time to time, even Aberdell, who had played with her since she was a child, was often dumbfounded.

"Hey! Henry, why do you utter those strange syllables when you cast a spell, and you keep fiddling with your hands." After speaking, Aimon suddenly moved his face very close, almost touching it.

Henry stretched out a finger and tapped the tip of the girl's nose. "Please, don't get so close next time you ask a question. You know, we almost bumped into each other just now." After speaking, he flicked the girl's forehead lightly. "Any spellcaster must be guided by singing and gestures to complete the spell. Of course, the spell-like abilities of some people or monsters are not included."

Apodell covered his face with his hands in pain. "My God! Dude! Do you know how terrifying it is once Imoen's curiosity is aroused? She will keep asking until it drives you crazy. Many people in Candlekeep have a deep understanding."

"It's okay, I think she is very talented, and maintaining a strong curiosity is one of the necessary conditions for becoming a mage." Henry said as he rubbed the girl's pink hair. He knew very well that it would not be long before Imoen would get a spell book and gradually walk on the path of a spellcaster.

The three talked and laughed all the way, and soon saw a stone tablet not far away. At this time, a man quickly ran over from the opposite side, and he put his finger on his mouth to signal everyone to keep quiet. "If you don't mind, please lower the volume so that monsters and beasts don't hear and find someone here."

"Then let them hear it! I can deal with anything I'm not used to." As he spoke, Apodel drew out his two-handed sword and gestured a few times.

The man looked him over, then sighed. "I hope you can continue to say these words when you see that ogre. Well, I'm leaving. One last piece of advice to you, if you don't want to die, you'd better go along the road." After finishing speaking, he turned and went into the woods.

"My God! There's an ogre here! Shall we go and see? Maybe it's guarding some treasure?" Imoen looked at the two men in the team with bright eyes.

"You have to be Apodel, he is our team leader." Henry didn't think it mattered, anyway, an ogre is not a big monster. And if he remembered correctly, he should be able to get two magic belts here, and if one of them is accidentally worn, something very interesting will happen.

Apodell pretended to think for a while, and then strode towards the woods to the east. As he walked, he yelled at the two people behind him: "Don't stand there stupidly! Follow up! This ogre will be the first stepping stone on my adventure."

"It's great, I knew you wouldn't miss something like this. Adventure, monsters and treasures, what could be more exciting and anticipating than this." Said Aimeng, bouncing and following.

Henry slowly followed behind. He didn't plan to intervene in the battle too early, but was going to let these two rookies have a good experience of the power of the ogre. After all, the sons of Baal need to kill to stimulate the divinity in their bodies. The sooner they mature, the more beneficial they will be for future adventures.

Not long after the three of them walked in the woods, the girl spotted a tall figure not far away. This guy was wearing clothes made of animal skins, and was carrying a stick full of spikes in his hand. Apodel roared without hesitation, and then rushed up.

Henry covered his eyes when he saw his reckless suicide behavior, and couldn't bear to watch the next scene at all. The ogre swung a big stick and slammed it on the two-handed sword fiercely. Apodel was sent flying more than ten meters by the huge force, and finally hit a tree. Aimon was completely stunned by the sight in front of her. She was in a daze with the short bow tightly in her hand, completely oblivious to the danger she was in.

"Get out of the way! The ogre is about to kill you!" Henry shouted, and then quickly cast an "entanglement technique". Vines and weeds began to grow wildly, temporarily entangled the monster's legs.

"Apodel!" Aimon shot an arrow hastily after recovering, then turned around and ran to his side to check the injury.

"I'm fine, but I'm a little dizzy." Apodelle struggled to stand up while speaking, and then rubbed his head. "Ah! This is a two-handed sword that I spent more than 70 gold coins on, why is it like this now!" He picked up the bent weapon and let out a burst of wailing.

Seeing that this guy still cared about the weapon in his hand, Aimeng kicked him hard. "You daredevil, hurry up and prepare for battle, that ogre is not dead yet."

Just as the two of them were talking, the ogre got rid of the effect of the entanglement technique and rushed straight to Henry. Seeing that his teammates were in danger, Apodel threw it at the enemy regardless of whether the weapon in his hand was still usable. The sharp two-handed sword cut a wound on the ogre's shoulder, successfully diverting its attention.

Henry unhurriedly cast a magic missile, and five balls of light hit the ogre's knee in quick succession, instantly crippling one leg. Aimon also took the opportunity to shoot two arrows, but because the power of the short bow was too weak, it could only tickle the enemy. Aberdell grabbed two big rocks casually, and smashed them hard at the ogre's head. I only heard two "bang bangs", and it happened to hit the temple on the head. The monster fell to the ground, apparently fainted.

"You damn thing! How dare you break my sword!" Apodell cursed, picking up a bigger stone on the ground and continuing to smash it. After a minute, the ogre's head completely blossomed. Red and white brains flowed all over the floor, and a stench spread everywhere.

Imoen plucked the trophy from the ogre's corpse. "Look, here are two beautiful belts. I really can't see that this monster is still a woman who likes to collect belts."

Apodell dropped the stone in his hand and hurried over. "Hey! It's up to everyone, give me one to try and see if it fits." As he spoke, he grabbed a set and tied it around his waist.

"Wait..." Henry yelled at the two of them, but unfortunately he was a step too late. I saw that Apodel, who was more than two meters tall, quickly mutated. After a while, the lines on her face began to soften, and her breasts became more and more swollen. After the changes were over, she completely turned into a strong woman.

Startled by this drastic change, Imoen started pointing at his partner and laughing loudly. "Hahahaha! Apodel, you have turned into a woman! It seems that we can become good sisters in the future."

"Damn it! It must be the fault of this broken belt." Apodell wanted to take it off angrily, but it was a pity that no matter how hard he was used to it, it didn't work. "I said buddy, why can't you get this thing off. You are a mage, so think of a way."

Henry took a deep breath, trying not to lose his composure. He chanted a spell in a low voice, and soon released a fourth-level spell "Breaking Magic" aimed at Apodel. A dark blue magical aura flashed, and the belt on his body was automatically untied and fell to the ground. As the curse was lifted, the characteristics of the female surname began to gradually disappear, and after a few minutes, everything returned to normal.

"Today is a good lesson. In the future, don't use unapproved magic items casually." Henry picked up the belt on the ground and shook it. "This is a surname-changing belt. If there is no spell to remove the curse, I'm afraid you will be a woman for the rest of your life."

Aimon blinked mischievously, and then pretended to be frustrated and said to Apodel: "What a pity, it would be nice if you were always a woman."

"Hey! Why don't you put another belt on for a try." Aberdell glanced at Imoen, quickly grabbed the other belt, and tied it on the girl.

But alas, things didn't turn the girl into a man the way he imagined. Just when the two people were full of doubts, Henry walked over and released a "discernment technique", and soon everyone knew the specific function of this belt.

Piercing Protection Girdle: "Elf Pain"

In his heyday, Panda of Scardale was a notorious highwayman. He made a name for himself by causing great distress to the elves of Cormanthor Forest. What angered the elves the most was that he always used the trees in the forest as cover to avoid the punishment of the law; and this belt also made the elves' bows and arrows useless. Unfortunately for Panda, traps and starvation are also slow but effective alternatives.

Special effect:

Attacks from piercing and ranged weapons will be bounced off the stance and automatically deflected.

Aimeng touched his heart belt and let out a burst of laughter. "Haha, this is the first useful magic item I got during the adventure, and it just fits me well."

"What luck! My weapon was deformed, what should I do now?" Apodel asked after complaining.

Henry pointed to the big stick of the ogre on the ground. "Let's make do with this first, I believe it shouldn't be a problem to swing it with your strength. And it's best to check the pocket on the ground, I guess there will still be some gold coins in it."

When Imoen heard that there were gold coins, he immediately ran to the bag. Soon she dug out about fifty gold coins, and a large handful of silver coins and copper plates. "Aha! It seems that the money is enough for us to spend for a while. I can help you repair the two-handed sword weapon by the time the Arm of Friendship arrives."

"Let's get on the road now, and try to get there before dark. I don't want to camp in the wild." As Henry said, he took the lead and walked towards the main road, and Aberdell followed behind, dragging his stick with a sad face. (To be continued.)
