Chapter 186 Assassins and Friends

After walking out of the woods, the group continued to head north, and at dusk they finally saw the tall city wall of the Arm of Friendly. While hurrying, Henry told the other two people some common sense about adventure and fighting. He didn't want to let today's situation happen a second time.

The three of them quickly passed through the city gate, and led by Henry, they walked along the street to the door of the Friendly Arm Hotel. Suddenly a brown-haired man stepped out of the corner. He looked at everyone, and then asked Apodel: "Hi, friend. I haven't seen you before, what wind blows you to the friendly arm?"

"I'm just here to find a few friends and take a day off here." Apodell answered this question without thinking. He didn't notice at all that the guy in front of him had hidden his hands in his sleeves.

The corners of Henry's mouth curled up slightly. He had already recognized that this man was Tanisin, who was known as the rookie killer in the game. As a sorcerer who has just reached the fourth level, he is obviously not a threat, and he can just train the two sons of Baal.

"Oh, then you must be the person I'm looking for. But I need to confirm first, is your name Apodel?" Tanisin continued to repeat the words pretending to be very familiar.

His words immediately aroused Imon's vigilance, and the girl quietly pulled Apodel, who immediately came to his senses. "Sorry, no. I'm going in now, please get out of the way." He clenched the stick in his hand as he spoke.

"Really? I really don't see any difference. Your appearance and height match the description. Don't go, I have something for you." After speaking, Tanisin began to chant a spell, and the "mirror image" was released in the blink of an eye.

Three identical mages appeared in front of everyone in an instant, and Apodel hit one of them with a big stick. Unfortunately, it was just an illusion and not an entity. Tanisin continued to cast spells, and a few seconds later, a "hypnotism" was thrown on Aimon's body. The girl's body shook twice, and then fell headfirst to the ground and fell into a deep sleep.

"Who gave you the courage to cast spells in front of me?" Henry looked at the low-level mage jokingly, and casually threw a dispel spell. After so many years of computer optimization, the time to cast a spell has been greatly shortened, and it only takes one to three seconds to complete the preparation.

A white light flashed, and the "Mage Armor" and "Mirror Image" on Tanisin's body were instantly dispelled. Just when he was full of astonishment, Apodell swung the wooden stick and smashed it down hard. The poor mage was sent flying, rolled down the stairs, and finally hit a rock, lying there motionless.

Seeing that the enemy had been dealt with, Henry went to Imoon's side to wake her up. The first thing the girl did when she woke up was to get up and run to the corpse to start searching for the loot.

Henry pointed to Tanishin's body and said to Apodel: "See, your enemy has issued a wanted warrant, and there will be more and more such guys in the future."

"It's a pity that this guy is dead, otherwise we can definitely ask something out of his mouth." Apodel threw the wooden stick in his hand aside.

"Look what I found!" Aimon waved at the two of them and shouted. "Oh! This guy's magic book is really great! I think I can learn something useful from it." As she spoke, she turned a page. "Wait, let me try..."

During this time, the girl raised a finger and pointed at Apodel and read a spell aloud, which scared the latter and ran over to snatch the spell book. "Stop it! You're not a mage. It's best to leave this kind of thing to a professional." He said and handed the spell book to Henry.

Aimon, who succeeded in the prank, shrugged his shoulders with a smile. "Don't worry, I was just joking. And I really want to learn magic. The things in that book are not as difficult as I imagined."

Henry picked up the poorly made spell book and flipped through it, then exchanged it for the girl. "Let's leave this thing to you for safekeeping. Remember, you must be careful in the process of learning, and don't do stupid things that are beyond your control."

"Don't worry, people call me the careful Imoon. And don't compare me with those fools." After speaking, the girl carefully put the book into the purse on her waist.

Henry picked up a piece of parchment from the corpse. This is a reward order, which says that as long as you get Apodel's head, you can immediately get a reward of two hundred gold coins. "Two hundred gold coins! Dude, your head is really valuable. With such a high reward, it won't be long before the bounty hunters from the entire Baldur's Gate will flock to you." He handed the reward order to the other two people.

After reading it, Aberdell was so angry that he tore the parchment in his hand to pieces. "Let all these bastards come! Come one to kill one, come two to kill one pair. Soon they will know that I am not easy to mess with."

"Okay, don't be angry. Now go to the hotel and find the two friends mentioned by Ge Lian, they should be able to help you." Henry took the lead and walked inside.

Just entering the hall, a man who called himself Qiaopi came over and chatted with them. According to the information he provided, the road to Baldur's Gate has been completely blocked. Merchants and travelers are now generally afraid to set foot on the roads because of the increasing prevalence of bandits. Because these guys don't ask any questions at all, they rush up to kill anyone they see, and don't leave anyone alive.

After Henry invited the informant to have a drink, he walked straight to the bar with his teammates. He patted the table and said to the dwarf boss: "Long time no see, Mr. Bantley. How have you been in the past few years?"

"Henry! God! I thought I was dazzled, but you haven't been here for a long time." The old dwarf jumped up and gave him a hug. "A busy person like you certainly wouldn't come to see me specially. Tell me, what's the matter?"

Henry pointed to Apodell. "My friend's adoptive father was killed a few days ago. The old man left his last words and told them to come here to find two friends. One is called Jasila and the other is called Khaled."

Bentley put his head down in thought for a moment, then began to stand on his chair and look around. Not long after, he pointed to the two half-elves not far away and said, "Look, that's the couple. They've lived here for several days. The man stutters a bit, and the woman is very strong."

"Thank you, I'll get in touch with them now, and I'll come back to tell you about the old days after I finish these things." Henry walked towards the table not far away with Apodel and Imon.

"Excuse me, are you Jaheira and Khalid?" Henry asked with a slight bow.

The female half-elf immediately stared at the three of them with vigilant eyes, and soon she noticed Apodel behind her. The man stood up and gave a salute and stammered the answer: "Yes... yes, I... I am Khalid. No... I don't know if you have anything to do?"

Henry looked at the two people slightly. Jasila has long golden hair and a naked figure, giving people a wild beauty. The expression on her face was serious, and she looked like the kind of person with firm beliefs and very self-confidence. Khalid, on the other hand, is a slightly stuttering man who appears to be amiable, and who is visibly unsure of himself when he speaks.

"It's like this. His adoptive father, Ge Lian, was ambushed in the woods on the Avenue of the Lions two days ago. Unfortunately, he is already dead. The old man left a last message asking us to come here for help." Henry pulled Apodel in front of the two of them.

Jaheira sighed at the news of Golian's death. "I really didn't expect this kind of thing to happen." She walked up to Apodel and patted him on the shoulder comfortingly. "We are old friends of your father. He often said that if something happens to him, Khaled and I will protect you."

"We will travel... travel with you until you settle down or... or find your own destiny." Khalid also came over and interjected.

Apodel glanced at the half-elf couple and nodded. "Thank you, but how much do you know about my life experience? Why do so many people want my life?"

Jasila glanced at her husband, then shook her head. "Sorry kid, it's not the time yet. I'll tell you the whole thing when the time comes, but I'd better take a good rest now and leave for Nasika in the south tomorrow. You should have heard about the iron mine crisis. Khalid and I are planning to investigate it."

Imoon's eyes lit up when she heard that she was going to take the risk, and she came up to Jaheira and made a joke. "Hey! Aunt Jasila, I'm Imon! A friend of Aberdell's, the kind who always takes care of him."

"Adventurers don't call each other 'Auntie', so the joke ends here. Ge Lian mentioned you in the letter, and we welcome you to join." After speaking, Jasila turned her head and stared at Henry. "Sir, can you introduce yourself? After all, as teammates, we should get to know each other."

Henry secretly admired this woman's vigilance, she really deserves to be a seasoned harp player. "My name is Henry, and I am a lord of an overseas island. I believe this information is enough for you. After all, I don't want to be too noticeable."

"I see. What's the purpose of your participation in this matter? Or what do you want to get?" Jasila quickly thought of Henry's identity, but still refused to relax his vigilance.

"No special purpose, just want to travel around. After all, always staying in one place makes me feel bored, and I want to come out to find some excitement." After speaking, Henry spread his hands at Jasila. He can't say that he covets all kinds of treasures along the way, and he needs a lot of experience to upgrade. (To be continued.)
