Rudenza Empire, on the top floor of the Magic Tower perched on the far outskirts of the capital.

The small space, which must have been carefully maintained, was a mess, as if it had been bombed.

The dark auburn bookshelf lay on the floor in two halves, and the books in it were torn apart and scattered everywhere and could no longer be read.

“…….”

Edel, a silver-haired girl, who could not hide her dazed expression, looked around with trembling eyes.

‘…… What happened now?’

Edel tried to hold on to her spirit that was drifting away. Only then did she see the firm arms wrapped around her.

She slightly twisted her body to try to get out, but his body, like a solid wall, wouldn’t budge. He didn’t even seem to be conscious of her small movements.

“C, cough!”

She let out a clumsy dry cough.

Only then did his gaze turn to Edel, and a low voice rang in her ears.

“Mage, are you okay?”

As if submerged in water, dark blue eyes looked down at her anxiously.

“Ah…….”

Edel forgot to answer and couldn’t help but stare at the man staring at her.

It was as if all the light and beauty of the world had been gathered.

[The Sleeping Prince Awaits The Saintess’ Kiss.]

Yes, this was the title of the novel I possessed. At first, I thought I was going crazy because I read too many novels, but I really have become a different person.

To my surprise, my last was because of death from overwork.

No manpower, too much work. It was just a busy day at work. The strategic report for next year, which I had been holding on to until I got home, was floating vividly above my head.

‘But I didn’t die working until the end.’

My only hobby that relieved my stress in such a routine was reading RoFan[1]. Sometimes I’ve been reading novels all night and laughing at myself thinking what if I possessed like this, too, but……

But you’re going to make me possess it right away just like this?!

‘Isn’t that what a team leader only benefits from? Have I done all my work?’

No, if I’m going to possess  someone, shouldn’t it be either a child of a noble family or a princess! Aren’t there so many roles that I can enjoy the wealth and glory of!

But I’m one of the weak and average ones even though I possessed someone! I woke up as a poor commoner girl who rolled down the stairs to escape bullying.

‘Ha, I thought it was normal to wear a dress and eat delicious food like crazy when I possessed someone……..’

Since it was a book I was reading these days, I was able to grasp the situation without difficulty. First of all, Edel, the original owner of this body, was a survivor of a small town ruined by an attack of a group of warlocks called ‘Apostles’ 4 years ago.

She was discovered by the Knights and the owner of the Magic Tower who came to investigate the scene, and she was somewhat adopted.

‘The problem is that she was a child who had nothing but luck being rescued by the Duke of Méliz.’

Despite the opposition of the elders of the Magic Tower, Méliz, the owner of the Magic Tower, was strangely stubborn and brought Edel to the Magic Tower.

After all, she was the Master of the Magic Tower, and there was no gutsy mage who could break the master’s strong stubbornness.

Through the efforts of the Magic Tower Master, she entered the Magic Tower, but unfortunately, Edel’s magic power was very faint. To what extent, was it difficult to distinguish what characteristics she had?

Mages were given titles such as fire mages and water mages based on their natural characteristics of magic, and Edel’s faint magic was difficult to distinguish.

Because she was loved by the Master of the tower, Edel had to suffer from the bullying and bitterness of the Mages of the tower.

This became even more serious when she took on the role of supervising the novel’s male protagonist, Prince Licht.

Eventually, the harassment even hurt Edel, and that’s when she possessed her.

“It’s too much! Is there no chance to win a lottery in this world!”

In the novel, Edel was a child who didn’t want to be a concern for the Tower Master and didn’t let her know she was being bullied. Truly a kind-hearted extra among the extras.

I swallowed the bitterness inwardly and looked at the face of the male protagonist lying in front of me like a painting.

Licht Glacies Rudenza, 1st Prince of the Rudenza Empire, the most powerful nation on the continent.

He was the golden spoon of this world and the protagonist of the novel, who would have been the crown prince soon if he had not been cursed.

As the male protagonist in the novel, he was famous as a magic swordsman who possessed excellent sword skills as well as strong magical power of fire, but he was attacked by Deus, the head of the Apostles, and fell into eternal sleep.

I started reading this novel because of the setting of a beautiful prince under that curse.

“That’s it- it must have been a setup to make the meeting with the female protagonist dramatic.”

Looking mournfully at his son who was sleeping as if he was dead, the emperor ordered the protection of the prince to Duke Méliz Evgenin, the Master of the Magic Tower and the Duke of the Empire.

If the Apostle’s group attacked again, the only mage who could properly confront them was the Duke of Méliz.

It wasn’t just that. In the Imperial Palace stood an Empress with ambitions to make her son Crown Prince. Now that the prince, who boasted the strongest power than anyone else, has fallen, leaving him in the Imperial Palace was dangerous in many ways.

Perhaps Edel was able to take on the role of supervising the Prince because she was a low-ranking commoner-born Mage who had no political ties to the Imperial nobility and whose magic was not a threat.

‘Well, I’m sure her steadfast and kind personality was probably the biggest reason, though?’

Thus, Edel was tasked with recording the prince’s condition three times a day.

And the moment she first met Prince Licht, who was sleeping like a painting in a glass coffin[2], Edel fell in love in an instant.

For the naïve Edel who doesn’t know the world, the sight of the beautiful prince with a sculpture-like appearance lying in a glass coffin must have been a shock in itself.

Of course, even so, falling in love with someone who was asleep was a bit grotesque, though.

But, fortunately(?) Edel was only in an unrequited love, and was not used by villains or became a villain herself. She was just a very noble and pure girl in an unrequited love.

One day, while taking care of him every day with such heart, the female protagonist in the novel who will rescue the prince from the curse! Saintess Sephina appeared.

Sephina, who worked as a priestess in a local temple, was blessed by the god Merdemia and became a Saintess, and arrived at the top floor of the Magic Tower in search of the male protagonist, the prince, in order to save the world against the Apostle.

Then, as if possessed, she opened the glass door and kissed the prince, thereby breaking the curse of the prince, which was the beginning of the novel.

Like a princess, no, a prince, sleeping in a forest!

‘I don’t know why it was a kiss, but anyway.’

And Edel, who was watching the scene in front of her, ended her long, unrequited love.

Ah, what a timid and weak extra!

‘Right. Even if she lacked ability, she was not a villainess.’

If she was a villainess, I would have had to wrap my head[3] around trying to avoid a terrible death or dead flag.

All I have to do is take care of the Prince diligently and witness her wake him up with a kiss. It was a honey-like role[4].

‘It’s been more than a month since I possessed her.’

Judging by the time when the Saintess appeared, it was said that it was ‘one day when the prince was cursed for almost three years.’

The time I possessed her was a little over two years after Edel took care of him. In other words, if I endure about six months, I can see the scene in person.

After that, the female and male protagonist will take care of killing the Empress and the Warlock as well!

“Then I’ll be completely free!”

In the novel, the story of Edel was not narrated at all since the point of the male protagonist’s awakening.

In other words, I still have a lot of life left to explore. Even Edel was still 18 years old. I was at a promising age to live.

“I don’t know what the work-life balance is like in this world.”

Here, I will work in moderation and live with a warm stomach!

“Great. Let’s prepare slowly.”

I nodded and pulled a notebook out of my apron.

Worries are worries, but I had to write a report today.

It was something Edel had been doing diligently for a long time. Even as I was assessing the situation after the possession, I managed to imitate the daily routine that my body remembered.

Méliz, the Tower Master, was exploring the Empire to track down Deus the Warlock. Then, once every two or three months, when she returned to the tower, she used to look at the report that Edel had faithfully written down each time.

Of course, there was also a communication channel hanging around my neck where I could contact Méliz-nim immediately in case of an emergency.

There were a total of three things I had to check.

First, make sure that there were no problems with the preservation magic and that the glass coffin did not have cracks or special problems.

Second, to check the condition of the barrier hanging in the room on the top floor.

Third, even examining the Prince’s face.

I stroked the glass coffin with my hand.

“August 2, 7:30 a.m. There are no cracks in the glass coffin, and the temperature and humidity are stable.”

This time, the barrier. I can check the wavelength by putting my finger on the side of the door that becomes the central axis of the barrier. It was not difficult to follow Edel’s memory.

“The barrier is well maintained, no signs of intruders or other things.”

No big deal! And now all that’s left is…….

I awkwardly turned my gaze to the glass coffin where the prince was lying.

I’ve been doing this over and over again for the past month, but it was not easy to adjust.

“Hmm.”

Maybe it was because there was no movement, but when I looked at him blankly, I felt confused whether he was a person or a famous painting on display.

He had white skin that didn’t show any blemishes, but a hard jawline that didn’t match it gave him a strong feeling. His pitch-black hair looked neat and tidy, as if it had been trimmed today.

Perhaps, the prince’s figure was still the same as the day he was laid in this glass coffin.

“Surely, if it looks like this sculpture-like figure, you will fall in love at first glance.”

But I wasn’t a teenage girl who had only lived on the Magic Tower, and I wouldn’t fall in love unanswered like in a novel.

I tucked my notebook back into my pocket and pulled myself up. It was time to go back to my accommodation.

Heading for the door with slow steps, I turned my head for a moment. The face of the Prince lying in the distance came into view.

Why? Clearly, his eyes were closed and he didn’t have any sense, but the sight of the Prince lying there made me feel pity.

“Anyway, there’s not much time left.”

Yes, the future of the male protagonist was a guaranteed flower path[5]! Even if I wasn’t worried, it was going to go well enough. I clenched my fists and shouted, cheering.

“Fighting!”
