It would not be an exaggeration to say that the library of the Mage Tower collected all the books related to magic in the world. The joy of being able to see the library of the magical world in the novel with my own eyes was short-lived, because my mind became complicated again.

“What on earth am I supposed to eat in this world?”

Sitting by a window in the corner of the Magic Tower library, I was racking my brain in search of an answer to an unanswered question.

Fortunately, the knowledge that Edel had studied diligently before I possessed her vaguely remained in my mind. Although she lacked magic, it was clear that she had an overflowing love for magic.

‘If I had lived in the world where I lived in with such passion, I would have been treated very well. At least as a professor[1].’

I don’t know where she is now, but I feel sorry for Edel. But now it’s my life. The heat is really on[2]!

Wiping away the tears that were about to flow, I spread out the notebook in my pocket, wrote a number, and circled it.

After all, the best thing to do in a difficult situation is to look at what you have in your hands. I stared at the notebook quietly, recalling each of Edel’s objective elements.

‘It’s not bad considering the experience. I have more than four years of experience working at the Magic Tower.’

Even if Edel’s role in the novel was not significant, she stepped into the Magic Tower and was officially registered as a tower wizard. In terms of background, I’d say it’s pretty good!

Name tags work everywhere.

“Yes…… A Mage from the Magic Tower, the center of the continent’s magic. It’s not bad to hear.”

The problem was that Edel, now me, was a mage with very little real magic.

Being able to cast magic is the greatest strength of a wizard, but I didn’t have that strength.

Then I’d rather…….

“Shall I study magic a little more and just teach?”

It reminded me of teaching in a cram school[3] in college. The director even asked me to continue because he would pay me more, so it could be said that I was recognized.

Yes, I think it would be pretty rewarding to teach kids again, right?

“Do I need a degree here, too?”

Ugh. I don’t want to go back to school. If possible, I would like it to be passed on as me being from the Magic Tower.

Still, it seemed like a good idea. I wrote ‘Teacher.’ next to the first number and scribbled the next number.

“What else?”

Hmm, I can’t come up with any ideas.

I pulled out some books in a moderately reachable position and flipped through the page quickly. Since I didn’t know what I could do outside of the Magic Tower, I decided to look for clues at random.

Edel seems to have studied the principles of magic and history well, but because she had been living in the Magic Tower, she didn’t seem to know anything about what was going on in the world.

“I think it would be better to read newspapers and magazines than books like this.”

Um. I thought I might need the help of Duke Méliz. Or, it seemed like it would be okay to ask a good-natured mage who comes and goes.

The book I picked up was called ‘History of Artifacts’.

“Artifact? Ah, is that something that allows you to use magic even if you don’t have mana?”

Even without Edel’s memory, I could tell. It was an item that had appeared quite a few times while reading the novel. It seemed quite expensive to obtain, right?

When I opened the first page of the book, there was a simple explanation written in the language of this world that high-quality magic stones and magic were required to create artifacts. Whether it was the minimum consideration for possessing this body, what it was about naturally came into my mind.

“‘The higher the purity of the magic stone, the more efficient artifacts can be made.’ Ah, but that means I can’t make it without mana.”

I don’t think my abilities will be effective. Too bad.

Smacking my lips, I put the book back in its place. I’d better look for another book.

“Let’s see…… Something that’s worth…… doing for a little longer…….”

And then, an unpleasant voice that seemed familiar but was unfamiliar[4] to my ears was heard.

“No way, are you still looking for a way to create mana instead of writing the diary?”

It was a loud voice that was out of place in the quiet library.

The door of the library suddenly opened and two men walked in and stood in front of me, creating a long shadow. They were staring at me with a disapproving look on their face.

‘Ah, is it these guys?’

From the memory of the previous owner before I possessed her, I easily inferred who the two men were. It was those guys. The ones who always bullied Edel.

The big mage, whose few brown hair had been carefully flipped to the side, stepped forward. Probably Benjamin, an intermediate mage.

‘He’s the third son of a noble family, and he was trying hard to eat the soybean flour[5] that fell next to Méliz-nim?’

He was also the violent bastard who recently made Edel, who was obsessed with books, fall down the study ladder.

‘Oh my, what’s with this carefree appearance of his!’

His voice is not fresh[6], but his face is even worse! As he got closer, his face came into view more closely.

Originally ignored, Edel began to be harassed in earnest after the prince was brought to the Magic Tower. The problem began when Duke Méliz had installed a strong barrier on the top floor, and only the Duke and Edel could enter through the barrier.

Perhaps because of the fact that it involved the prince who was at the top of the power, Benjamin was apparently quite jealous of Edel.

‘It’s not like Edel said she’ll do it.’

It was the first time I had actually encountered him since I possessed this body.

Seeing Edel who fainted because of him, he seemed to have forgotten about running away. Maybe he thought he could just move on because Edel didn’t say anything.

“At least it would be meaningful to provide accommodations to those without magical powers. Haha!”

The rat-faced mage chuckled and added another word.

He was the son of a vassal of Benjamin’s family, but his name didn’t come to mind.

The thought of Edel, who must have lived a hard life while being persecuted by these kids, made me emotional and angry. I calmly put down the book I was holding and brought my hand to my mouth.

“Oh my, oh my, what did you just say?”

“W, what?”

I can’t fight with your hair in that shape[6], so I have to scratch your insides as much as I can. As if in great shock, I opened my eyes wide and looked at the two I didn’t want to see.

He looked taken aback by my unexpected rebuttal.

“Méliz, the great master of the Magic Tower and the Duke of the Rudenza Empire, himself! Did you call the very, very important task he had ordered me…… a diary?”

Pretending not to know anything, I shook my hands with an awkward expression. It’s best to respond to these kids at the same level.

‘Edel must have been trying to solve it by herself so far, but I’m not the kind of person to argue about things like that.’

During my 10 years of work, I’ve seen things you wouldn’t normally see many times. I’d seen idiots with this mindset more than once, so I knew which method worked best.

“It was something Méliz-nim decided was necessary, but you’re too much!”

I mean, you guys dare to tackle what Duke Méliz told me to do. That’s what I’m saying.

Benjamin and the rat’s faces began to turn red as if my nuance was conveyed well.

“N, no, what are you talking about!” (Benjamin/Rat)

“Not the Magic Tower Master, but the diary!” (Benjamin/Rat)

Unorganized nonsense came out.

“Yes, that diary. What Méliz-nim said was necessary and important, you said it was useless, right?”

“That’s not……!”

I sighed with a very sad expression on my face.

“That’s what you thought, huh? What should I do? I can’t ignore the opinions of a senior mage. As expected, I should ask Méliz-nim, right?”

Since I didn’t know anything, I blinked with an innocent expression that I would just ask.

It was definitely a different reaction from the attitude he had kept now that he was being scolded.

“C, come to think of it, it’s not meaningless! You, Mikel! What nonsense are you talking about!”

“What? Me?”

Ah, that rat bastard’s name was Mikel?

When he was suddenly blamed for his wrongdoing, Mikel stuttered, pointing at himself.

After a pause, he quickly noticed and nodded violently.

“I, I said it, but I didn’t mean it that way! That’s right! Yes, yes!”

Oh boy, that’s typical of a boss who completely shirks responsibility.

“Well, we’re busy! Keuhum!”

Benjamin and Mikel, who was avoiding my staring eyes as if they still did not know, hurriedly left.

“Not a big deal.”

I wonder how they grew up, seeing how jealous they were of the young girl Méliz-nim liked.

I can’t help it when Edel is so cute!

“Damn it, cheap and nasty.”

In other transmigration novels[8], you get the power of a Munchkin[9] and you quickly get rid of bad kids! I really need to hit them once or twice to feel better!

Let alone a buff for possessing a body, I had nothing but the knowledge Edel had.

‘With a real possession, I would have the greatest magic power! Wouldn’t it be nice if I was given something like this?’

How long do I have to face those bad and unpleasant kids? A sigh came out automatically.

“Oh well, let’s go see the prince.”

As expected, when you’re upset, it’s the best time to let your eyes enjoy[10].
