FH Chapter 24 : 一碗鸡汤

A bowl of chicken soup

 

Xiao Lingchuan heard no movement of washing in the clean room. He handily served a large bowl of chicken and two steamed buns in a small wooden basin and brought them to the house.

 

“I’m eating only by myself?”

 

Li Haitang enquired in surprise when she saw that there was only one pair of chopsticks, 

 

“I’ve eaten.”

 

Xiao Lingchuan put his things away and turned around to go out. Just now in the stove room, he sensed that there was something wrong with the way he had done something.

 

He had heard about the Li family’s situation from people in the village. Li Haitang is beautiful and people had long been thinking about her, so this time she had to run away from the arranged marriage because her heart already belonged to someone.

The chicken soup was steaming and emitting a tantalizing meat aroma, Li Haitang stirred it with her chopsticks and took a bite of the steamed bun, wishing that she could find a crack in the ground.

 

“I have ruined your reputation so I must take the responsibility.”

 

Xiao Lingchuan didn’t know what was in Li Haitang’s mind, his face didn’t fluctuate a bit, he said indifferently, “Drink the chicken soup while it’s hot, there’s still plenty in the pot.”
