FH Chapter 23 : 太享受

Too enjoy

Xiao Lingchuan pushed open the iron gate, Li Haitang ran a few steps faster and followed him into the courtyard. Her clothes were already soaked through and fitted her body, outlining a shapely figure. She was dripping water from head to toe, and when the cold wind blew, she was shivering from the cold wind.

She didn’t expect a man’s yard to be so neat and tidy. The courtyard is paved with a cobbled path that leads to the main house, with a wooden utility room to the east, to the west is the cooking room. In the corner, there is a neat pile of firewood.

“What smell? So fragrant!”

Having not eaten for almost a day, Li Haitang’s stomach had long been rumbling with hunger and she inhaled her nose, revealing an intoxicated expression.

“I’m stewing a chicken.”

Xiao Lingchuan lowered his head, not daring to look directly at Li Haitang at all. He didn’t show any expressions, he led Li Haitang into the cleaning room, which was a hot pool with a pile of cobblestone.

He had to burn firewood every day, The hot water was not used up and was connected directly to a pebbled pool so that no matter in winter or summer, washing was very convenient.

Next to the hot tub was a wooden shelf with two sets of clothes, it was washed to lose color but very clean.

Xiao Lingchuan did not go out, but bent down. In a drawer under the shelf, he took out clean cloth towels and stemmed cups, and poured Li Haitang a cup of hot brown sugar water.

“Oh my God, is this really the wild man?”

They had been out for days, Li Haitang hadn’t even reacted yet. She locked the door behind her, got rid of her clothes in three or two moves and walked straight to the bathing pool, which was just the right temperature. She then sat down, just in time to reveal her long and slender neck.

The people of the village have never seen anything like this, even a five-star hotel may not have this kind of equipment. Although primitive, the attention to detail is evident in every detail.

When the original parents were still alive, the house was in good condition and had a bathtub. Even so, the village people said that their family was fastidious in spite of a difficult situation (or distressed circumstances) yet be very particular about it. After all, washing up was a waste of firewood.

During the busy farming season, every family put a few large basins under the eaves, and when they came back from the fields and the water was hot enough from the sunlight, they poured it directly onto their bodies to rinse.

The men were able to bathe in the river at the edge of a village but the women could only scrub in the stove, and in the cold of winter, they could not even take a bath once a month.

Li Haitang did not feel safe in this unfamiliar environment. She was only being scrubbed inside and out three times in the morning, so now she simply soaked and washed her hair before rushing out to dry her body.

Xiao Lingchuan’s clothes were so big that Li Haitang was dressed like an opera singer. She dried her hair with a cloth towel that hung down loosely.

If she hadn’t met the wild man surnamed Xiao, Li Haitang would have had a hard time staying alone in the mountains tonight. Previously she wanted to take Li Jin Hu to live together and earn silver for his studies, but now she sees that this idea is immature and even a bit whimsical (as if indulging in the wildest fantasy).

The two siblings had no family or clan to rely on, it was hard to live a peaceful life. Moreover, she looked like this, even if there were no Counselor Qin there would still be Counselor Li and Counselor Zhao, even the scoundrels on the street could have destroyed her reputation.

A woman who lost her reputation usually ended up in misery, even if she didn’t care about it, she couldn’t be drowned in a spray of saliva for it.

She, Li Haitang, could not choose to die in such an undignified way, but mainly, it was too humiliating.

If she married, then first, she would have saved her reputation, second or on the other hand, Qin Counselor would not want to marry a woman who was already unclean. This point could be seen from the evidence when she was examined by several middle-aged (or older) woman servants’ before the wedding.

Marrying a wild man, the other party had no father or mother, meant that she did not have to serve her in-laws. The original body and he didn’t have any contact before, so Li Haitang did not have to worry about exposing herself.
