Fate's Reversal: The Divines Return

Chapter 40 - Mastermind Manipulation 1

Acting upon his devilish thoughts, Kaiden contacted General Sonic through video call. He had some things he needed to inquire about before he set his own directives in place to wreak havoc amongst the others guild's pockets.

"What happened Kaiden?" asked General Sonice.

Smirking, the devilish grin still present among his face, "I'm just curious about the state of the guild donations, Lifestyle production stock and if you have any contacts who are in a financial bind?"

"Hmm.. as far as the guild donations go—at this moment we have received 3,240 Gold, 86000 Silver and 440000 Bronze coins. Converted to golden coins that would be 4,144 Gold coins. Based upon my contribution chart, each member has contributed at least 10 Gold coins. With that being said, many have retrieved near gear from the Guild's Warehouse. The system you put in place has an amazing recycling rate."

'Heh, speaking of gear. I've realized I still have on Level 10 gear, however, I barely receive damage so I paid it no mind. Not to mention that defense is too thicc. It feels good to be too stronk.'

"Before I get to the stock I think I should break down the number of advanced Lifestyle members we have. To begin with, we have WineSoul and OverbearingHammer each reaching the official rank of their fields—respectively a Basic Alchemist and Basic Blacksmith. As you have assigned them as Chiefs, they are upholding their positions."

"Next, we have a slightly quirky woman named EnchantingThreads, she has also reached the Basic Tailor rank. She has just joined yesterday and hasn't signed a contract. Therefore...I suggest you get in contact with her ASAP. Don't let that good piece of meat go. Ahem, I mean prime candidate…"

"Next, we have a young promising apothecary named MysticalTags. He has reached the Basic Apothecary rank, now able to create Rank II pills. Additionally, the quality is never below the Fine-grade which is astounding."

As far as pills and potions go, outside of having a rank they are also graded. The grades being—Substandard, Average, Satisfactory, Fine, Superb, Flawless, Peerless, and Pinnacle. Each of these grades contribute to the effectiveness of a pill/potion.

Substandard: Possesses a 10% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Average: Possesses a 25% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Satisfactory: Possesses a 50% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Fine: Possesses an 80% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Superb: Possesses a 95% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Flawless: Possesses a 100% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Peerless: Possesses a 200% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Pinnacle: Possesses a 300% value of the effect(s) listed on the formula and recipe.

Being told such good information, Kaiden's expression lightened and changed to a more suitable one.

'It is soon approaching the time where we need to employ all types of Lifestyle players. There is no lifestyle player with a useless role—in order to grow properly I need to establish a grasp on all aspects of World's Destiny.'

"Next….we have a Basic Engineer, however, well...he's a bit weird honestly."

"How is he weird?" interjected Kaiden.

"Well, for starters HIS name is TinkerBell. Secondly, he doesn't leave his workshop room...at all. It's as if he's obsessed. He's signed the Destiny Sealing Contract, so there's no dilemma's there."

"Last of the notable mentions would be a Basic Enchanter named Sabrina—"

"Hahaha. You mean like the teenage witch?" guffawed Kaiden as General Sonic chuckled as well.

"Yes, like the teenage witch. No complaints about her, she is usually in the library studying the language of the runes passionately."

"Hmm, aside from WineSoul and OverbearingHammer, I recommend you serve the Chief-level contract to TinkerBell and Mystical Tags. As for EnchantingThreads, I'll take care of her." notified Kaiden.

"Alright, as for stock of production based on market price~we have created enough items to generate about 15,000 Gold worth of income at the least—granted that people shop from us rather than NPC stores."

"The solution is simple, decrease profit but increase the gain. Drop the sale price to 90% of the market price."

"Noted, as for any financially unstable companies...I believe I know two and based on my information they will be venturing into World's Destiny now. Not as a company looking to invest, but as guild looking to earn."

'Perfect.', once again, the devilish smile had appeared.

"Provide me their higher-up's contact information, I have some matters to discuss."

"Alright, that will be sent momentarily."

Ending the call, Kaiden stood there with a contemplative look.

"I need base information to execute my plans."

Heading towards the Merchant Association, Kaiden continued to formulate different outcomes for his plans as well as calculate the probability of the worst and best outcomes appearing.

'Hm, the chances don't seem to be abysmal but it relies on 2 aspects. 1—a high initial income and 2—a surefire way to hide my identity.'

As soon as Kaiden reached the desk of the Merchant Association, he inquired about some information he never learned before.

"Hello, what reputation rank do you need to be able to purchase property in this town?"

"Oh well, in order to purchase a property plot in a town in general, you need to be at least a 'Lord'."

'Ah so, just like building a guild the prerequisites is to at least be a Lord.'

"Second question, how many properties am I able to hold?"

Tapping at his desk, the receptionist began, "Well, that has multiple clauses. There is the Guild Leader clause where you can relinquish ownership of the plot to the guild then becoming a guild property. Furthermore, guilds are allowed to hold property based on their level—starting from Lv.3. With that being said a Guild Residence and a simple Residence property are two different things. A Guild is only allowed one Guild Residence in a town at any given moment."

"A level 3 guild can have 3 properties in its name inside a town. After a certain level, the restrictions are lifted."

'Oh? It seems there are built-in restrictions to limit income. You won't be able to be a tyrant quite easily at low Reputation levels.'

"Secondly, we have the personal quota. This is viable strictly to property limit = (1 + 2n). 'N' being reputation rank henceforth becoming a noble, i.e. 'Lord', 'Baron'. So, in short, as you are a Viscount you are able to hold a maximum of 7 properties in your name whether commercial or residential. With that being said, this all stands true for purchasing."

'Hmm, that eliminates one idea for my scheme. Well then, that leaves 2 options.'

"Thank you for the information."

Leaving, Kaiden's hand rested upon his chin as he was in deep thought.

'I can hold 7 properties, however, how will I generate funds to claim the plots?'

"WAIT A MINUTE!", Kaiden's outburst caused the surrounding people to look at him with questionable gazes and a bold person even shouted.

"SHUT THE F.U.C.K UP!"

Stopping for a moment, Kaiden turned with dead fish eyes that also looked like they were ready to swallow someone's soul.

"Oh…? Who said that?"

The atmosphere turned silent as a pin drop could be heard.

As a result, Kaiden scoffed as he turned away continuing to walk while leaving a simple comment, "P.u.s.s.y…"

'I still have these 5 Violet Gold Treasure C.h.e.s.ts. How could I forget?! Hopefully something worthwhile comes out of them.'

[System: You have received a message from 'General Sonic'.]

"These are the 2 companies 'Genesis Electronics' and 'Vizionary Zeal'. The former lost funding due to failed projects and now has the possibility of going bankrupt. Their shares have been relinquished back to the owners. As for the latter, they experienced a corporate coup d'etat and the old leaders sold their previous project details to competitors. With that being said, they are in a bind and hard-pressed to continue other projects."

'Interesting, it's them! I need to sit down with them ASAP. If I remember correctly a company steals both their future projects in 2 months and connects them to create 2 projects that advance the world further. Hmph, instead of you stealing them. I will own them.'

'This changes my whole game plan, now I will solely focus on crippling the guild's growth. Sorry, not sorry. As for these 2 companies, they will just become my victim's. Though I won't treat them badly at all, hehe.'

With this information, Kaiden headed towards the 'Rising Comet Workshop'— he had 2 reasons for doing so. One, he would be commandeering the conference room for a short period of time. Secondly, he would be sitting down with EnchantingThread to employ her BY ANY MEANS necessary.

Entering the 'Rising Comet Workshop', Kaiden raised his eyebrows as the atmosphere was a focused one. Everyone inside worked intently on their own tasks—Blacksmiths were hammering at their forges, Alchemist mystically brewing over their pots, etc.

However, two doors caught his eyes. One read "Do not disturb, I will bite you or more so detonate a bomb! Don't try me!"

'Ah, no wonder Tyler said he was weird.'

The second sign read "Before you enter, KNOCK! It is uncouth to disturb a lady or barge into her room. Hmph."

Kaiden once again shook his head and formed a wry smile, 'What exactly am I walking in to here? It's like this game is filled with "unique" people.'

Walking upstairs, Kaiden shut the door to the conference room. Waving his hand, 5 Violet Gold Treasure C.h.e.s.ts with attractive yet archaic engravings appeared.

Placing his hand above a Treasure C.h.e.s.t, Kaiden opened them one by one, not checking the contents until every single one was opened.

Altogether, Kaiden received 16 items and to this, he raised his eyebrow as 3 of them caught his eye and 1 made him smirk as he now had a chance to once again cause havoc.

[Starstreak Sword Saint Tome Fragment] (Inheritance Fragment)

Pieces: 1/10

This tome is a fragment of the Starstreak Sword Saint Inheritance. Completing this tome will give you permanent access to the inheritance techniques that enabled this Sword Saint to be lauded "Starstreak".

'Interesting, his title must be below Kroxus if he's only a Saint. However, as Kroxus said the path of the sword is taking in all knowledge of the sword.'

The last notable item was a repeat item but slightly different. It was glinting gold. Furthermore, this was also what Kaiden will be using to wreak havoc in tandem with the Mask of Obscurity.

[Guild Creation Scroll] (Special)

Instead of taking the Guild Creation quest at Lv.20 costing an enormous fee. This scroll grants you the ability to directly create and register a Guild at any Adventurer Guild Hall enabling you to buy a Guild Residence territory at the fraction of the cost.

Additional: This is a Gold Rank version. Creating a guild will cost no fee and only require you to be a lord.

Kaiden was giddy because of the fact that although the monster level and above experts might have created their guild. That didn't mean everyone had completed the prerequisite to creating a guild.

Soon enough, Kaiden's expression changed to a stern one as he exited the conference and knocked on EnchantingThread's downstairs.

The voice that answered was slightly haughty with a tinge of conceit as well as pleasant to the ear. Her voice had a silky feel to it as if the goddess were plucking a harp.

"Who's bothering me?"

Opening the door, this lady tilted her head as her eyes scrutinized Kaiden.

"And you are..?"

Turning his head up from his interface, 'Woah, get a load of the attitude on this one. W-w-WHAT!?'

Kaiden guffawed for a moment and then reverted to his previous image. "Your union leader."

"Hmph, I've seen better. And stop staring. Young inexperienced boys don't suit my taste."

'The F.U.C.K?! This...why is she so blunt?!'

"Uh, ahem… I came to inquire why you didn't sign any type of contract with us and instead joined as a basic member?

"Do I have to answer you? Hmph. As if.", turning the lady closed the door and Kaiden was left dumbfounded by her. However, not by her closing the door.

'U-Uh...what just happened?'
