Chapter 62 Final

“What did you say?!” The tone of Bai Yin’s outburst rose several octaves. “You want to go to the disaster area? Are you f*cking crazy?” Very good. When overwhelmed with emotions, even she couldn’t help but slip a swear word out.

With fear, and also with guilt, Bai Lian Hua hung up like his phone was on fire. He couldn’t describe the feeling he was experiencing at this moment. Perhaps it was guilt. Perhaps confusion.

He thought, this is love. Despite being rejected so many times, in the end the conclusion wasn’t was dramatic as he had thought it would be. It made even he himself become question if everything that just occurred really happened.

However, this was enough. Bai Lian Hua stored away his phone and explained briefly and concisely to his roommates.

Li Bei who had always hated homosexuality didn’t spit out any evil words. Chu Zhongtian turned his face around and looked away whilst deep in thought. Zhou Nanjiang made an exclamation “Ah?!” and then became silent.

“When are you going?” Chu Zhongtian suddenly asked Bai Lian Hua who was packing his luggage.

“Tomorrow.” Bai Lian Hua paused before continuing with his actions

Chu Zhongtian nodded, but did not speak.

The next day, Bai Lian Hua woke up with dark circles. Yesterday, he had spent the entire night writing an email and today he had to wake up early to catch the morning plane. He really looked like a zombie.

Chu Zhongtian laughed but he soon couldn’t laugh anymore. “Say, you……”

“En?”

“The mail you wrote yesterday. I read some of it.” Chu Zhongtian looked at Bai Lian Hua and didn’t have the usual sunny smile on his face. “You wrote about your abroad life in all those emails and pretended to be happy in them. You even made up a long list of excuses to explain why you’re not going home……you……” Chu Zhongtian wanted to say something but he could only open and close his mouth a few times.

“You saw it?” Bai Lian Hua who wasn’t in a hurry waited for him to finish speaking and smiled: “It’s just in case an accident happens.”

The two faced each other in silence. Li Bei stood up from his bed and shoved a notebook into Bai Lian Hua’s arms: “I study earthquake proof architecture. These may be useful to you.”

Bai Lian Hua accepted the notebook. It was filled with six or seven pages of hand written notes. Bai Lian Hua solemnly stored the notebook into his bag, “Thank you.”

Li Bei patted his shoulder and, as if he was just going down to the canteen to buy food, said: “Go and return soon.”

Bai Lian Hua nodded his head and even received a packet of chocolates from Zhou Nanjiang.

“Wait, let us send you off.” Zhou Nanjiang suggested as Chu Zhongtian and Li Bei nodded in agreement. Bai Lian Hua did not refuse and the four left for the campus gates together.

“Okay, you guys can go back now” “No rush, we’ll send you off until the airport.” “I’m not a child.”

He opened the car window and waved at the people standing outside: “Wait for my return! Once I’m back, let’s go and have barbeque together! My treat!”
