I watched the little bunny pick up what I believe to be a fork.

I searched in old Fu Shi's memories of the fork's existence only to be shocked by its origin.

It was actually from the Celestial Ages where Perfect Immortals were as plentiful as grass, and Gods still walked the mortal plane. It was a time of turmoil and the falling of Gods en masse. Even I felt a sense of awe just by recalling this particular memory. As someone who had lived in the 21st century and experienced many things, it was rare for me to be awed.

This emotion of awe must have come from the old Fu Shi!

"Well, congratulations to you Yuan'er!" I congratulated the little bunny despite my misgivings. No matter how I saw it, Bi Yuan's choice of weapon was a fork— a utensil you would use for eating! Maybe the bunny chose it because it was quite well-balanced given her size.

But.

"You know Yuan'er, you could choose something better. That thing was barely an exceptional artifact."

"Kyu?"

The little bunny had that look, 'I don't understand' Sheesh, what am I to do?' Her expression seemed to say. On top of being able to converse with bunnies, I could now also read their expressions. I explained to the little bunny why her choice of weapon was not among even the strongest in my inventory. The Fork of Perforation was not even strong, but barely strong.

"Artifacts were divided into 5 levels: Fine, Exceptional, Superior, Masterpiece, and Perfect. Though that fork had awesome history, it was kinda lame…"

"Kyu?"

Fine, I had given up. This little bunny did not understand a thing.

Sigh… I had forgiven you little bunny since you are too cute.

The little bunny could not contain her eagerness to test the weapon.

Bi Yuan was so excited to test her new strength and bid me goodbye. She respectfully bowed in my direction, then set off from my humble cave.

This was a kind of experiment for me too. The class I just gave the little furball was Paladin. It was a class based on this world's Buddhism which I tweaked to suit my taste. I wonder how effective would it be.

The Paladin was a class with three starting core arts— Aura of Virtue, Divine Fortification, and Sacred Ash. I had given Bi Yuan access to all skills, despite it going against character progression.

Initially, I planned for Bi Yuan only to be able to learn a skill after spending a certain amount of Exp. I decided against it and just gave them all for the sake of experimentation. I was curious how well were these skills.

[Name: Fu Shi

Quintessence: 7

Players: 1/1]

It took me 30 quintessences to create this class. That left me with (7) serve quintessence. I have a strong fascination with Paladins, and that was why I named this class this way. Specifically, I was a sucker for western fantasy.

In a sense, I was kind of regretful that of all the worlds I transmigrated to, it just had to be this place. What I could only do was deal with the hand I was given.

I hoped Bi Yuan would be able to become a champion who would help me actualize my goals.

The arts and attributes I made with the Paladin were focused on survivability. I only had Bi Yuan as my 'player' now, so it was necessary to improve her survivability. The last thing I wanted was to lose my only player!

Personally, the reason I wanted Bi Yuan to become a 'Paladin' was because I see her as a hero. In my most challenging moment, the bunny swooped into my life like a hero would.

Admittedly, Bi Yuan saved me. It was childish, but I had fun creating that class.

Creating classes like this was far easier than creating the system. At the very least, there were no heavenly tribulations I had to confront.

I gazed at the empty spot where the little bunny bowed to me. I wished her good luck in her quests, and future quests to come.

~~~
In the slanted rocky sides of the mountain, a white blur was streaking past all of the obstacles in her path like it was nothing. The rocky terrain, plant life, and stray birds were not stopping this bunny!
Bi Yuan rushed down the mountain at different speeds: fast, faster, and then slower. She tested her limits and stopped just at the right moment when she almost was caught in an accident. Methodologically, she was getting the hang of her new powers. the most basic was using qi to boost herself through the Paladin Skill: Divine Fortification.
The Divine Fortification was a skill that increased the user's defense. Technically, it was improving the user's durability from bones to muscles. Through the usage of this, Bi Yuan was able to run recklessly, and increase her speed in return!
White light enveloped her feet as she descended in a flurry. An hour-long journey from the mountain was reduced to minutes just like that.
Her skill, Divine Fortification boosted her defenses, and by relying upon the increased sturdiness, the user could be more reckless in their actions. Bi Yuan could also freely switch between which body parts to focus the skill while in combat. This way, she could save up her qi.
How much 'boost' depended on Bi Yuan's cultivation base. Or as the player lingo referred to it, Bi Yuan's level. As a Martial Tempering realm cultivator at level 11, her legs were being enhanced by 110%. It would not look that much, but it was the application that counted.
For Bi Yuan, this 110% increase in the sturdiness of her legs allowed her to reduce a one-hour trip from the mountain to minutes!
Finally arriving in at the mountain's foot, Bi Yuan didn't stop but continued to rush forward with bloodthirst.
Get out of the way, the murderous bunny is here! Her presence seemed to announce to the forest.
The periphery of the forest near the mountain's foot was empty of wildlife activity. It was all thanks to the little bunny's uncontrolled hunting. Bi Yuan had no choice but to delve deeper into the forest because of the lack of prey. Though the beasts deeper in the forest were stronger, she was unafraid.
The thing was, she was purposely looking for trouble.
*Swoosh!
And as she wished, it came.
Bi Yuan dodged the shade of red that suddenly swooped on her. She only saw a glimpse of it, but she was sure— it was a fox!
This fox was quite different from the one Bi Yuan defeated before. This fox on top of being bigger was quite clever. The moment the fox realized that its ambush failed, it quickly hid in the lush shrubs of the forest displaying its cunning.
"Kyu-kYU-KYU!!" | 'You shameless fox, do you want a piece of me?' Her chirping was unintelligible, but she meant just that.
Bi Yuan cautiously observed her surroundings, instead of blindly chasing the fox's shadow. She flexed her Fork of Perforation as if taunting the wily fox. This was what she wanted, a worthy foe to test her strength!
Though Bi Yuan coming here might be reckless, she felt that it was necessary to tread into this kind of danger once in a while in order to get stronger. She was not wrong but truthfully, that was not exactly the reason why she was here. Bi Yuan was simply drunk in her strength. The fox took advantage of this unknowingly.
SLAM!
Bi Yuan felt an impact in her rear. It was a body slam. As a result, Bi Yuan rolled several times in the shrubs and dirt caused by the collision.
"KYUUU!" | 'Come! I'll fill you with holes!!'
Bi Yuan with unusual eagerness threw her weight from where the body slam came from. She swung her weapon hard only to hit the air. The fox wasn't just clever, but also fast.
It could have gotten worse if the fox bit her instead at that moment, and then drained her blood like what a carnivore usually does.
But the fox did not.
Why?
!?
The little bunny realized it too late.
Why did the fox slam her instead of biting her with its fangs? This question was instantly answered as Bi Yuan found herself in mid-air.
The fox cleverly used the terrain to sabotage Bi Yuan. She looked down in horror! Just under her was a steep creek where bones of various animals scattered. She even spotted a waiting crocodile by the waters.
It will be the death of Bi Yuan!
The fox made a cackling sound.
"Kekekeke~" | 'Die, poor bunny…'
With the fox's strange laugh brimming with disdain, Bi Yuan understood what the fox meant clearly. The fox was looking down on her, and he must be thinking she was an idiot. This was unforgivable! The bunny would not let that just be.
!!!
Surprises—surprises…
Bi Yuan would not die that easily.
The little bunny was no longer her old self. She was now a SUPER BUNNY! A PALADIN BUNNY!
From a distance, she could see the fox leering at her in the open.
"Kyuuuu~ Divine Fortification!" This time, she used her skill with empowering strength. Bi Yuan's leg strength was already strong, but with this skill, her jumping power reached a higher limit.
The super bunny kicked the air, and then activated another skill: Sacred Ash! Bi Yuan moved! The Sacred Ash was a destructive martial spell that could explode the Holy Element to create a concentrated detonation. She bravely activated the skill underneath her. At the same time the skill was activated, Bi Yuan kicked where the skill was unleashed.
The fox watched in shock as the bunny returned to ground zero.
The fox panicked!
"Whoo~uck" | 'Save me croc!'
The fox whimpered for the croc's help, but the distance between them was too far. Separated by the creek, the fox had no choice but to succumb to despair.
The bunny was charred below her body. She was in pain, but she endured. She activated another skill: Aura of Virtue! It was an area-of-effect healing spell that healed its caster while healing the people around her at the same time. Her legs healed, and their functions returned.
Baring its fangs, the fox lunged at Bi Yuan.
The bunny focused on activating her ultimate skill a second time with vigor. SACRED ASH!
White sacred light perfused Bi Yuan's Fork of Perforation. It took a full second to charge giving the fox enough time to reach her, but the fox was slowed by Aura of Virtue. The healing skill had three effects in total: (1) Heal the caster, (2) Heal the Allies within range, and (3) Delay foes with ill intentions.
Bi Yuan released her Sacred Ash imbued on her Fork of Perforation with incredible might.
BANG!
The poor fox was reduced to ash without mercy.
Ping! +800 exp
The bunny panted, exhausted by her series of maneuvers. At the same time, she felt thrilled. She looked down at the scary croc just below the creek wanting to engage in another fight.
The croc laughed.
"HEH-HEH-HEH---"
It was a slow creepy laugh. In Bi Yuan's eyes, the croc just made a savage smile.
Then the croc talked.
"Funny little one. Do you want a fight?"
"Kyu?" Confusion and fear sublimated Bi Yuan's existence.
She knew she was no match against the Big Bad Croc who could speak so fluently.
Bi Yuan knew it was time to flee.
"Ku-kyu… Kyu!" | 'Maybe another time? Bye!'
Bi Yuan, the little one, scurried off like a scared rabbit. Well, she was… a rabbit, albeit an abnormal one.
