I Have to Manage Information Better

A week had passed since the kidnapping event. I was able to completely calm down after being distraught because of that day.

─The morning after the day I slept with Alvin-sama, I woke up to find him staring at me with a soft smile on his face.

The morning sun shining through the gap in the curtains, Alvin-sama’s beautiful golden hair, and the sheer dazzle of his smile made my eyes squint.

“Good morning, Nina. Did you sleep well?”

“Yes, thanks to Alvin-sama, I was able to sleep soundly. When did Alvin-sama wake up?”

“Three hours ago, maybe.”

“Three…?”

I looked at the clock and saw that it had been about five hours since then. That meant Alvin-sama had not slept for those three hours.

As expected, could he not sleep in an unfamiliar place?

When I was feeling sorry, Alvin-sama smiled as if he could see through my feelings, saying, “I’m the type who doesn’t sleep much to begin with.” That made me even more worried.

“I’m sorry, you were busy, but I made you stay by my side.”

“No, I’m here because I like you. Anyway, I’ve been watching Nina’s cute sleeping face all this time.”

“What?”

Could it be that he had been watching my sleeping face for the entire three hours? I must have made a silly face when I was sleeping.

I was worried about many things, such as if I had said anything strange in my sleep, when Alvin-sama patted my head and smiled.

“It was definitely the happiest morning of my life.”

“…..!”

Why did this man like me so much?

The overly sweet atmosphere made me dizzy, and I couldn’t look at Alvin-sama’s face for a while after that.

Since then, I had continued my daily life without ever stepping outside of the royal castle. To be precise, I hadn’t been let out.

Alvin-sama, Lara, and Theo’s overprotectiveness, who found out what happened to me last time, had exceeded their limits.

In addition to the possibility of being involved in future game events, the man’s whereabouts were still unknown. I understood everyone’s concern, and of course, I appreciated it.

However, spending all of my time, except for sleeping, by the side of the three of them, who switched places in shifts, seemed a bit much. In the first place, they were all busy people.

Above all, all three of them were kind to the point of being scary. I felt like a toddler, overpampered even more than before.

“Just the mere fact that Nina is out of sight is enough to make me uneasy.”

Alvin-sama, in particular, had gone completely overboard.

Owen and Dirk also seemed to wonder at the sudden overprotectiveness of the three of them.

I was planning to talk to them as well, but for the time being, I would wait until the three of them had calmed down.

And I hadn’t seen Erica since that day. I heard that she went to a local temple to do her work as a saintess. I didn’t even know when she would be back.

“I hope she’s not feeling lonely by herself.”

“Theo and Owen visit her from time to time, and it’s what Erica wanted in the first place. I’m sure she’ll be fine.”

“…. That’s what Erica wanted?”

“Yes.”

Alvin-sama said that there was nothing to worry about as they had a strict security system in place.

We had been exchanging letters, and I was relieved to see that the content of the letters was the same as usual, full of energy, like Erica. She seemed to be practicing her magic hard. I hoped to see her soon.

“…. Um, Alvin-sama, aren’t you a bit too close?”

“Is it? I’d actually like to have you on my lap.”

“….”

I was in Alvin-sama’s office today, studying next to him as he worked.

There was a couch set up for two, but our shoulders were constantly touching, which was strange no matter how you think about it.

I was just studying at my own pace, so there was no problem, but Alvin-sama was doing a lot of paperwork every day that exceeded the limits of what a normal human being could handle.

I thought that working under such conditions would make him less efficient, but Owen said that it seemed to be going up, so I couldn’t say anything.

“Do you mind this?”

“No, not really, but…”

“Good. I’m glad.”

And the biggest problem was that I no longer had any qualms about being by Alvin-sama’s side.

Far from hating it, ever since that day, being by his side has made me feel absurdly relieved. This had become the norm because we spent so much time together.

“Nina is really kind. I love it.”

I also noticed that I was beginning to feel comfortable with the kindness and favor directed toward me by Alvin-sama.

“… Thank… you.”

Growing up in a crooked home, I didn’t spend much time with my family, nor did I receive much affection from them.

At this rate, I felt like I would be useless without Alvin-sama someday, and I got a little scared.

◇◇◇

After dinner with Theo and Dirk, Alvin-sama, who had finished his meeting early, came to visit my room, and I started to prepare tea.

I was so used to doing everything myself in my original world that I didn’t feel comfortable calling a maid for every single thing. Therefore, I tried to make tea by myself as much as possible.

However, it didn’t taste like something that Alvin-sama, the prince of a country, would drink.

That’s why I wanted to ask the maid whenever I was with him, but Alvin-sama said that he’d rather have something I brewed.

“Hello, Nina.”

“Excuse me, the tea will be ready in about a minute─”

“This paper, what is it?”

“Eh?”

“It says, ‘List of Guys That Nina Likes.’”

I casually turned around with the pot in my hand, and almost threw the boiling water in it.

Alvin-sama had the same list that Theo had given me before. And he seemed to be looking over it carefully.

The one I got from Theo should have been put away properly. Why was it in Alvin-sama’s hand?

“It was tucked in the documents that Theo handed me.”

“….”

It was a good thing that Theo, who was so messy with everything, made a spare list, but I wished he had managed it better. It was now in the hands of the worst possible person.

“Heh~ a plain, commoner man who’s good at gardening and taking down demons. So, Nina likes this kind of man.”

“Um, that’s….”

“It’s the complete opposite of me.”

Although Alvin-sama was smiling, the temperature in the room was clearly dropping.

“That’s not true! Really.”

“It’s not? So, Nina didn’t say that?”

“It’s what I said, but….”

“I see. Then, it’s true.”

It would be bad if things continued like this, so I put the pot on the table for the time being and turned to face Alvin-sama.

“I can’t say it well, but it’s not the type of guy I like. It’s more like the type of guy I wanted to employ to help my life….”

“So, it’s a list of guys you want in your life.”

“No, no, no, no.”

Please listen to me. Things were definitely going in the wrong direction.

“Should I give up my status first? I should dye my hair darker, oh, maybe I should change my face too.”

“You don’t need to do all of that, please calm down.”

I felt dizzy when Alvin-sama said such things to me with a smile.
