Lucky Riot And The Mystic Dragon

Chapter 57 - Resolved to Kill

Chevy glanced up and saw that the young lady named Rain Jackson, Ricky Jackson's older sister, had dozens of veins strained on her neck as she struggled pointlessly. Her twin brother Cloud Jackson stood paralyzed in the crowd with his jaw hanging wide. After all, his older sister was far more talented than himself.

Yet she had been trounced? So thoroughly?

Her mouth was foaming, and her eye pupils were almost wholly rolled to the back of her head. Her face was turning purple, and she was seconds away from death.

No one wasn't stunned! After all, Rain Jackson was a fey! She had been in the AP section since elementary school. At the eighth level of the Hard Body Mystic Stage, there weren't many people in the school who could be her match. Her lifeblood powers were comparable to a peak Hard Body Mystic Stage cultivator. Yet, she was as helpless as a baby in front of this mysterious young man.

Coming back to her senses, Chevy ran over to the young man and grabbed his free arm with a plead, "Lucky stop! She'll die! Don't forget the rules! Big brother!!"

Hearing his baby sister call out to him so intimately, the rage in Lucky immediately lessened. The haze in his mind cleared. He released Rain's neck, and she instantly crumbled to the ground, where she repeatedly twitched with a foaming mouth.

Lucky glanced down at his baby sister, who had become incredibly meek upon meeting his gaze. This shocked her old classmates and those who knew of this violent princess. She was tall enough to reach his upper abdomen and had grown into her face a bit more. Lucky couldn't find an ounce of irritation in himself when he looked at Chevy, only a powerful familiar connection. This was a feeling that came not only from his bloodline, which resonated with hers but also from the depths of his soul somehow…

Lucky turned away from those adorable icy blue eyes that ultimately reminded him of his mother, and he spoke unhurriedly, "You will follow me until we find a chance to talk."

"Yes," Chevy Raizen replied meekly. She had never seen her brother so upset before, and she felt warm that it was in defense of their mother. However, Chevy also detected that Lucky was upset with her too. Chevy didn't even glance at her shocked friends as she followed behind her elder brother obediently.

"Are they... you know?"

"Chevy seems pretty partial to that studly guy."

"Poor Banks... he doesn't stand a chance against a man like that."

"Are you sure they aren't maybe... related?"

"No way, I saw that dude in the crowd earlier. If that were his relative, why would he wait so long? He obviously chose the right moment to impress her.

Chevy felt even warmer when she realized that he was in the crowd silently protecting her, and she didn't realize it. With such a powerful protector, did she still need to be so cautious? Merely, Chevy had no way to recognize her brother while being so preoccupied. She hadn't seen him at home for two years, after all. Plus, she was forbidden from telling Kasino she was transferring schools by her father. It was a part of the agreement to allow her to move. It was only this year when she started hearing all this news about Kasino Riot at Thoth Academy that she begin to doubt her knowledge of her own brother…

At the time, Chevy remembered thinking, 'could my older brother really be at this school? When did he become so cool? He broke Renzo Frenzy's legendary record, and even scored far better than me.'

In fact, Chevy once considered her older brother a waste. Merely, she had been told this long before she understood the meaning of the word. She had accepted it passively like anything else her father taught her. Now Chevy wondered couldn't help but wonder... if her blood kin was here, then why wouldn't her father tell her? Why did he forbid her from telling him?

Was he trying to separate them on purpose?

Was that the reason for his constant disparaging of Kasino during Chevy's youth?

Chevy suddenly felt enlightened.

"Why are you in the student union?" Lucky suddenly asked his sister.

"Eh...?" Chevy got so caught up in her thoughts that she felt startled when Lucky asked this question. "Oh, my boyfriend wanted to buy me a new art."

"Wouldn't you go to the Battle Pavilion to find that?" Lucky asked suspiciously.

"Ricky tricked Robin into coming here. He lured him over using the art as leverage." Chevy replied weakly.

Lucky frowned, glaring at the surrounding crowd once. No one was willing to meet his eyes. Afterward, he ascended the staircase to the next floor. Chevy silently trailed behind him like a shadow. She was actually glad to have met her older brother again after so long, she would have followed him no matter what even if he didn't tell her to do so.

After all, she barely recognized him now! Kasino had grown so big and strong. He was even taller and more handsome than her father, Marc Raizen! Chevy thought her and Kasino would finally be the same size. However, nothing had changed! Even though Chevy idolized her father, she had always had unique feelings for her brother. This was in spite of the fact she used to mainly prank him.

Even her boyfriend, Robin Banks, was very similar to her brother in personality. He also looked like the young Kasino a little. Meanwhile, Ricky Jackson, who reminded her of her father, was someone she grew to despise after being around him a lot.

When the upperclassmen guarding the floor saw Chevy, he wanted to stop her, but when he remembered what Lucky had just done to Rain, he decided to look the other way.

Once Lucky reached the third floor, he ignored his curious classmates and walked directly to the staircase before climbing it. At the top, he moved swiftly over to the registration counter that had been set up.

"Lucky Riot, here to register for the Rank 1 Mystic Beast Trial."

Two hours later, Thoth Advanced Dorms

Chevy Raizen was sitting on the bed in Lucky Riot's room within his dormitory. Lucky sat on at his desk across from her as he listened to her recounting her experiences.

Chevy was growing older now, and her maturity far surpassed her age. She wasn't so naive as to not realize that her father didn't like her older brother much at all. However, she couldn't understand why that was the case until she spoke with her mother about it.

Her mother's reply was to set up a sound isolation barrier around them before saying only a few words: "Your father is an evil man, with evil plans, and he's terrified of your brother's potential. Kasino is a special child with a unique bloodline. We will never speak of this again. Never forget, you are my little angel. Your big brother loves you more than anything in the world, just as I do. Do right by him… take care of my baby boy for me, okay? I wasn't able to… do right by my boy at all..."

Chevy was nine years old when she heard that, and she had still adored her father completely. She took genuine offense to what her mother said and fussed at her about it. Afterward, in spite of their promise, she did the worse thing she could have done at the time.

She told her father what her mother had said.

After that, she couldn't help but notice her mother had grown paler and seemed less healthy. Also, she offered her far less attention than before and would usually be in a daze.

Chevy slowly realized that she had made a mistake. A huge mistake. The next year, her uncle came in town and would come to pick her up every now and then. What bothered Chevy a lot was that every time she was around her uncle, she detected her mother's scent all over him. Her uncle's own smell on her mother was even more profound. When she first asked her mother about it, she saw the most horrifying light of realization flash through Kiya Prozen's eyes.

That ghastly look had terrified Chevy to the core…

It scared Chevy so bad that she begged her father to pull some strings and transfer her to Thoth Academy, so she could get away from the atmosphere in Kairo City. Chevy had been feeling so suffocated that she couldn't focus enough to cultivate. However, after being here for only a week, she had nightmares that felt so real.

Within these nightmares, Chevy was darkness itself, as she watched her uncle do l.e.w.d things that she had never seen or heard of to her mother. She watched as her father observed the scene from the sidelines. She felt disgusted and betrayed, even though it was just a dream. Chevy felt so disturbed by these reoccurring dreams that she wrote an essay about it in her literature class. After that, her fellow classmates teased her, saying her mother was her uncle's plaything.

Kids were just as honest as they were cruel.

Chevy couldn't stand for that and attacked her fellow students. She pummeled everyone in the class, no one could suppress her until the teachers came to do so. Luckily, this allowed Chevy's talent to get noticed.

That was also when Chevy received the nickname Tyrant Commoner Princess. Tyrant for her actions, commoner for her status, and the princess because she was so pretty.

Chevy hated this name.

When he heard it, Lucky found it funny.

However, now wasn't the time to laugh. There was something inside of Lucky… something powerful that he didn't understand. They felt like memories of a past that had yet to occur in the present. However, what Lucky did understand was that whatever this knowledge was, it was screaming at him from the top of its lungs that what his little sister saw… was no mere dream.

Lifeblood Resonance.

As he pondered these words appeared in Lucky's mind. Could Chevy have been tapping into her father's powers due to their bloodline connection? Did this mean that those things in the dream truly happened the way she saw it?

Was his mother being passed around like a dinner plate?

After his little sister left, Lucky's face became ferociously dark as he pondered on her tale alone. His blood erupted furiously, but the ethereal tattoo on his head kept Lucky balanced as different heavenly azure spirit symbols seemed to flutter in and out of existence around him. He knew he was going to suffer a backlash from his rampaging energy, but he didn't care.

He could feel a mysterious sensation like a gate located below his gut had been forced open and refused to be closed.

At this moment, Lucky Riot looked like an enraged mystic creature.

Only one thought was left in his mind.

Kill Marc Raizen…

Kill Marc Raizen..!

KILL. MARC. RAIZEN!
