Lucky Riot And The Mystic Dragon

Chapter 58 - Masked Killer

Lucky meditated alone in his room for an extended period. A mystical and ethereal eye tattoo was glowing in pale azure light on his forehead, and his body was actually covered in sweat! His rage boiled so fiercely that he couldn't regain his composure no matter how hard he tried. Lucky felt fortunate that there was no one around to provoke him, or he would likely totally lose it.

His eyes were feral, and his face was savage and wrathful. It wasn't an expression one would typically see on humans.

Lucky had never felt so much ferocious rage! He could feel that what felt like an open gate deep in his abdomen was taking in his lifeblood and mystic strength and erupting out a magma-like flow of primal power! His mind was hazy, and he was already no longer capable of logical thought without his Eye of Horus active. Even with the ability engaged, Lucky only had control of his mind, he felt no control over his body.

Lucky Riot was like an angry beast in a cave with no target. He disdained to look for a target himself, but anyone who disturbed him would suffer his wrath! Lucky used his psyche perception to cover the radius of the entire dorm, which was rather close too his limit of about 100 meters. He could tell that Scarlet was downstairs, while Capital and an unfamiliar young lady were in the next room.

Lucky desperately hoped no one would come looking for him. He was destined to be disappointed.

Shoo~

Through his psyche perception, he felt a scary force rip into the outer layer like a cannonball. Lucky's profound instinct reacted for him as his body rapidly shifted mysteriously, leaving behind the after-image of a serpent made of mystic light.

Bang!

An arrow carrying a terrifying momentum of green gale-force tore through Lucky's bedroom window and plowed straight into his bed, precisely where his face had been mere seconds ago! The covers were shredded to pieces by the wild gale force, and even the mattresses and metal frame of the bed suffered some damage.

This alarmed Lucky, as these bed frames were made from refined Winter Origin Steel. This material was nearly as durable as mystic black steel, but it possessed a natural yin aura. It was the perfect bed for hot-blooded men to relax on. However, the winter origin steel that Lucky admired was currently scratched and dented.

"Assassin!" this was Lucky Riot first thought. This was a ninja that wanted Lucky to die miserably. Someone was trying to kill him!

In a courtyard a few dozen miles away, Kenneth Royal paced back and forth nervously. Standing within this same courtyard, as stable calm as a mountain, was a black-robed elder with a long beard and wizened old mug. It could be seen that this old-timer was once quite the looker.

"Old fogey, what is taking so long? Didn't the family send a Profound Orb Stage mystic out for the mission? Surely he must have finished by now," snapped Kenneth Royale, apprehension evident in his voice. "I hope this man is not sloppy, he must get the job done and escape at once! If he's caught..."

"Young master worries too much. Your cousin Edmund will not be caught so easily, he has the Rank 2 Speedstar Boots equipped," responded the old man in his nasal voice.

"Edmund Royale!" Kenneth's eyes brightened after hearing these words, as he laughed maniacally, "Bwahaha, that's great. That punk is as good as dead. Cousin Edmund's training to be a sniper! He's already at the military standard, that's way more then this punk Kasino can handle. He won't even know how he died, haha."

Meanwhile, Lucky Riot was alive and well. Unfortunately, his already unstable mind lost it the moment his window exploded. As Capital and Scarlet rushed towards the room from different parts of the dorm, Lucky Riot already sent out his perception before jumping straight out the broken window. His perception morphed into a line as straight as a spirit sword. Lucky followed the trajectory line of the arrow with his perception. By concentrating his psi and spirit power into a straight line, the range of his perception nearly tripled!

"Shit, that little imbecile! Who is it, little Eddie? Ugh. Twerps, clean this up for your friend, I'm going to protect him!" arriving in the damaged bedroom, Scarlet Mercury dropped these words to the trailing Capital and company, who watched her jump from the window in a daze. Capital was skeptical and wanted to follow, but the young lady next to him was incredibly anxious. He missed his best opportunity while consoling her and knew he couldn't catch up to Lucky anymore.

"What the hell could have happened?" wondered Capp Blacc inwardly.

Outside, a man wearing all black-tinted light armor was posted in a tree 313 meters away from Lucky's dorm. This man had long jet black hair, and his face was hidden behind an unusual black mask. The mask looked like a black face. However, where the eyes and mother were, strings of mana seems to stitch up the would-be face's natural artifices, and this had a strange disarming effect when witnessed.

In the masked figure's hands was a majestic looking ebony bow, with another deadly arrow locked in position. A piercing light could be seen originating behind one of the eyes of the mask. This light was nearly invisible and traveled down the same trajectory as the previous arrow.

"He actually managed to dodge that one? Impressive. Glad it won't be too dull then," mumbled the masked man as he locked on to the boy jumping out of the window.

Next, the masked man would attack with a Rank 2 magic spell called [Target Lock]. With this spell active, the young man was able to aim at a demonically precise level. However, he never expected that the target would dodge at the last second. If only the masked man were stronger, he could've manipulated the arrow even after it's release.

This masked man was none other than Edmund Royale of the Royale Family. He was one of the peerless geniuses that the Royale family had expended a lot of effort to nurture. If any mishap were to happen this man, there would definitely be substantial consequences following the investigation. However, if something happened to him after sneaking into Thoth Academy, no one would be able to seek justice openly.

Thoth was just too strong!

"Trying to escape still? Intelligent, but futile," Edmund was using the [Target Lock] spell to quickly lock on to Lucky Riot. However, to his complete shock, the boy seemed to be rushing in his direction, "Hah, the fool."

Edmund put his Rank 2 Mystic Artifact, the Magnificent Arc Bow, behind his back once more. From his hip, he unsheathed a three-foot-long sword and hopped out of the tree, landing 80 meters away from Lucky. Edmund thought that the swiftly fleeing Lucky would never even see it coming before his head flew into the sky. Edmund lowered his stance and started building his momentum to strike swift and fiercely.

He was ready to start his sword dance the moment the boy grew scared or suspicious. With his profound essence orb summoned, it would have been easy to strike out, even from a distance. Unfortunately, he had no doubt that he would be discovered as soon as he summoned his profound essence orb. The consequences of sneaking on campus to kill a dean's direct-student were obvious.

Meanwhile, Lucky had long since identified the source of the attack on his life. He ran at top speed, his blood boiling beyond his control. His insane rage had already reached its peak before the attempt on his life. Now, Lucky was utterly blinded by the beast within. Lucky's feral eyes were scarlet in color, and that color was all he could see. His mystic essence strength surged as a wild dragon might flood Lucky's veins like liquid magma! The muscles in his arms and legs bulged as he shot forward with a terrifying momentum!

Surfing Killer Moccasin Steps!

To Edmund Royale's shock and dismay, the speed of this brat suddenly exploded. Before he could even process this change, Lucky Riot had already appeared 10 meters away, before dropping into a mystic stance. Staring into those beast-like eyes, Edmund felt a killing intent much stronger than his own. It felt like he was staring down a wild fey beast, not a human teen. Those eyes made Edmund feel like claws were digging into his flesh, ripping it away. He became more vigilant than ever before at this moment.

"This brat isn't simple at all!" Edmund was totally caught off guard by such a display. However, he was a mighty initial Profound Orb Stage mystic warrior! He had fought arduously for this strength for all 30 years of his life so far! He wouldn't be intimidated by a brat that was still at the early phase of the seventh level Hard Body Stage. Even the lifeblood powers he detected from Lucky were merely at Silver Rank 1. None of this was enough to intimidate Edmund Royale.

They were on two completely different levels.

Stifling gale force exploded from Edmunds's body as he immediately slashed out with his mystic sword! His sword danced beautifully as six sharp wind blades shot forward, targeting Lucky's vital organs. Edmund could already picture Lucky's seventh level Hard Body would be lacerated and broken once these attacks landed. Unfortunately, Edmund was destined for disappointment.

Lucky zig-zagged through all six of the wind blades with incomparable ease, the primal dragon might bursting from his muscles.

"No, don't!" came a soft shout from behind. But how could the raging Lucky pay any heed to this familiar voice? He was hell-bent on slaughtering the f.u.c.k boy who came for his life tonight. Since he came to visit, he should stay for dinner! Lucky would never let his prey survive. This was a sort of bestial instinct that drove him forward.

Arriving in front of Edmund, Lucky's body radiated a baleful qi as he punched the wide-eyed Royale square in the jaw. This punch was savaged and brutally angled, it was a killing punch meant to slaughter! Unconsciously, Lucky had used the technique he had studied thoroughly during his spars with Bravo Frenzy. His dragon might exploded from his fist like the most terrifying tsunami that swallowed Edmund's vision completely.

Baleful Fang!

Boom!

The impact of the baleful dragon might echoed through the silent night, and Edmund Royale's head burst into bloody fragments. His body collapsed lifelessly to the ground, as his mystic sword and bow slid away from his corpse. Scarlet Mercury arrived a step too late and was greeted with the scene of her nephew's headless body bleeding out all over the ground. Scarlet was reeling in utter shock and horror!

"EDMUND!" she screamed pathetically. However, Edmund Royale was already deader than dead.

Her nephew was fey with lifeblood at Prism Rank 1. In her mind, Lucky Riot couldn't be his match! Yet she still stood there, looking at that tall back of Lucky, his fist dripping with blood. Scarlet was a Silver Rank 2 Magus, so she was able to calm her mind quickly enough. Walking over to her nephew's corpse, she mourned for this fool who accepted the wrong mission. With a wave of her hand, the body disappeared into the purse on her side. She waved her hand, and the bloodstains burned and evaporated away, not leaving a trace. She looked at Lucky, whose body was shivering, and she remained silent.

In her heart, she believed this was likely Lucky's first time killing someone, so this reaction seemed reasonable. Scarlet decided to give him some space. She had heard about the incident with Frankie Baldez from her husband's subordinates, but she didn't think it was a simple fight at that time. Most likely, Frankie dying was Lucky's good fortune at play. However, now she knew she had still been underestimating this punk. What was a Frankie Baldez before a freak such as Lucky Riot? A seventh level hard body slaughtering a Profound Orb Stage expert?

To Scarlet, this was too unreal. Didn't this mean that Lucky was already strong enough to fight her?

After tidying up the area and recovering the mystic artifacts for her master, Scarlet turned to return to the dorms. On the other hand, Lucky remained where he previously stood. His bloodline was still rampaging, and his mind was hazy. He didn't dare to move.

An hour came and passed. Lucky started to feel a stinging pain all over his body, yet his power had yet to stop erupting. He couldn't stop it at all, it was tyrannical. Lucky had begun to honestly dread this brutal power. Even though he felt incomparably mighty right now, it was simply too wild! He felt like murdering opponents, plundering treasures, and ravaging the yin essence of beautiful women.

Lucky didn't know what he might do when he was in this condition. Or rather, he knew precisely what he might do and was quite afraid of the consequences. After calming down the haze in his mind, Lucky Riot found himself seated in his dorm's master bedroom. His bed had somehow been replaced with a new one. This new one was actually far more comfortable.

Just when Lucky thought he would be able to suffer through the night undisturbed, he was wrong again.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

"Young master? Are you okay?" came a sweet voice from the other side of the door. "Can this little one come in?"
