Lucky Riot And The Mystic Dragon

Chapter 72 - Listen up, punks!

From a certain point of view, Lucky felt mystic beasts weren't very different from fey. If they were able to cultivate their lifeblood rank, then they too would be considered fey. They, too, were dismissed from their own race and given a lower classification! Alas, they were destined to be inferior.

'Who did the peak races think they were, gods? Labeling every other race as beneath them in status!' Lucky Riot was unsatisfied with the racial slur 'fey' the more he learned about it. 'Fey' was simply a general term used for identifying those who were mixed with the blood of "lower class" races by the five Divine Ancestor Races. 'Fey' could cultivate to a divine level, in spite of being born a mortal. Of these rule-making divine races, the Riot clan was a leading clan of the draconian divine race! This meant that Lucky had a divine ancestor level bloodline within him!

Unfortunately, he was the descendant of a human as well. Thus, he was neither a human nor a divine dragon per se. He could only ever be considered fey. Lucky even had some other bloodline he knew nothing about. Professor Clear Sky told him that it was due to this that the Riot clan may not also accept him as their own kin! Especially so, if they knew who exactly his father was. This naturally pissed Lucky Riot off. Why is it he had to run and hide because his father made a mistake? Of course, when he asked Clear Sky, she would always refuse to elaborate.

"I will tell you once you surpass my essence cultivation level…" Professor Clear Sky would say. This was utterly a faraway dream to the current Lucky, so he simply chose to not have any interest for now.

Amenophis had told him of his father's innocence, pinning the blame on Marc Raizen. While Lucky Riot definitely believed this tale based on the Marc Raizen he knew, he still wasn't so convinced about his father's character. Amenophis seem to worship his father, but Lucky had never had a positive thought about the guy before last year.

Anyway, he was sure that it would be a long time before he surpassed his professor.

Professor Clear Sky's essence cultivation might not be too exaggerated like the legendary Renzo Frenzy, but the entire city was aware of her strength. However, Lucky didn't doubt that her magical energy cultivation was out of this world!

Besides, Lucky Riot had good reason to believe these teachers were concealing their real strength. Of course, he was far too weak to know for sure.

The magical energy cultivation realms started at the Rank 1: Apprentice Magus. After Apprentice level one would ascend to the Novice, Junior, Senior, Grand, and Guru levels. Of course, the sub-ranks of Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Prism existed in between each level. However, one could reach the next rank without improving their sub-rank to the Gold rank. As long as the Silver rank was achieved, then it was possible to reach the next level. Nonetheless, this was the limit of mortal Magi cultivation!

All Lucky knew was that even though Scarlet Mercury was considered one of the 'regular' or 'weaker' teachers, she not only had a Profound Orb Stage, Mystic Realm cultivation, but she was also a Novice Magus! She had even claimed to have made significant progress towards Junior Magus thanks too being with Lucky those two times.

Of course, Lucky had been sleeping with Scarlet like it was a nightly ritual he was dedicated to by religion. It had actually already been dozens of times. Merely, only during two of these times did he pass on to her the remnant primal gate energy mixed in with his draconic essence.

This was during the initial incident and then again during the most recent dance. However, Scarlet had recently taught him a mystic art called the Sun Moon Twilight Dance Art. This was a dual-cultivation manual! It contained methods for them to cultivate their essence and energy while m.a.k.i.n.g. .l.o.v.e.

According to Scarlet, she had bought this manual hoping to get closer to her husband. Personally, Lucky Riot felt like her husband must swing his bat the other way if he wasn't touching this wife of his. She was far above average, after all. In fact, Lucky had confirmed this thoroughly. Scarlet seemed to become more dazzling as her cultivation increased.

'I wonder if this will be the case for Maggie as well?' Lucky found himself looking forward to seeing his women reach new realms of strength.

In fact, he actually didn't feel any guilt in spite of the immorality of his actions. After all, the initial purpose of having s.e.x with Scarlet was revenge for her superior attitude and dastardly deeds! Even Margot had discretely approved of this petty venture.

'How interesting was it that the teacher who once disdained me is now a kitten treating my crotch like milk?' Unfortunately, now that Lucky had some measure of attachment to Scarlet, it became difficult to discuss this openly with Maggie.

Margot once wanted to eat Scarlet Mercury's flesh. Not only that, but the lioness indeed held grudges. Maggie may have emphasized that it was okay for Lucky to pursue other women, but she was also incredibly territorial. This could be seen by the way the females in class all feared her so much that they barely spoke to Lucky. Only the bolder and more talented ones would do so in Maggie's presence.

Plus, as a result of the dual-cultivation in addition to the remnant gate essence, Lucky Riot was able to reach the eighth level in no time at all!

One had to know that ascending in level was once quite a challenge for Lucky Riot! That is to say, if someone else were given the same amount of energy, then they likely would have reached the Profound Orb Stage by now. The magic of dual-cultivation was something that benefited Lucky greatly. Even more so since Scarlet Mercury's stage surpassed his own by a great deal.

Thus, he was currently unable to feel anything but fondness for this woman he once loathed. So when he considered her talent and compared it to her treatment at the school, he became stumped by a question.

What made the other teachers so formidable?

Scarlet was a darling child of the Royale Family! In Lucky's opinion, the ability to make a woman like Scarlet Mercury bow down like a junior in the face of a woman her age could only be explained by one thing. The complete suppression of a rank! Unlike the deans, who were also supposed to be at the Novice Magus rank, Scarlet was never referred to as 'Senior Magus' or even 'Junior Magus' by the students and other teachers. Going by the trend, this should not be the case. They should at least call her junior magus. Anyway, how many secrets had Lucky learned about since becoming an advanced student?

Only strength would qualify him to be given insight into the hearts of the ones who knew the truth.

Unless he conquered them in other ways, of course…

Merely, Lucky couldn't help but grow more suspicious after receiving specific information. It was only after becoming a Bronze Rank 1: Apprentice Magus that Lucky realized he couldn't see through any of the teachers' magical power with his profound scanning ability.

At first, he believed that he simply couldn't scan magical energy the same way he could essence. In time Lucky learned this was true and also not correct. For instance, he could see through Aubrey's magical energy with no problem at all! All he had to do was look at her spiritual bridge. Before, on Aubrey's beautiful pure white spiritual bridge, there was not a single blemish or impurity in sight. However, currently, there was the outline of symbols that looked like a seed in the dirt.

This meant that Aubrey had begun transforming her spiritual bridge! Before Lucky understood magi cultivation, he didn't know what to look for. Now he knew that this change represented the fact that Aubrey was preparing to reach Rank 2! Once this outline took full form, it would become a bronze level power symbol! Making her a Bronze Rank 2: Junior Magus. If she refined the mana and spirit power a bit further, she would reach Gold Rank 1, and this would give her a silver level power symbol once she completed it. This was easy for Lucky Riot to observe.

However, he couldn't see through to Scarlet's spiritual bridge at all. It was like a blinding light that prevented him from seeing it clearly. He couldn't see the spiritual bridges of any of the other teachers either, for that matter.

What did this mean?

In Lucky's opinion, this could only mean one of two things. Either the teachers all had equipment with a particular function that hid their spirit bridge, or every single magi instructor in the school was at Rank 2 and above! Most of the city presumed the former, but as the direct student of the Guru, Lucky was more inclined to believe the latter.

This would mean that the Deans were at least at Rank 3: Junior Magi. Perhaps even Rank 4: Senior Magi! Fierce Storm's energy was as heavy as a mountain when he locked on to Lucky earlier, this didn't feel like the difference of a mere realm! It was absolute and total suppression. Performed so expertly that it didn't hurt at all, but still managed to completely subdue him! Fierce Storm could magically increase his size without using a bit of qi. There weren't even any mana runes. This meant that Fierce Storm didn't need to use such methods. Only someone powerful would be capable of this.

Not only that, but Lucky's professor was a complete enigma. With his spirit power, he would have never believed she was the Guru, or even a dean if she hadn't told him herself. She simply felt like a mortal, her body seemed to not also possess spirit circuits.

This was obviously impossible.

Thus, Lucky Riot was sure that her strength was absolutely terrifying on a level he couldn't currently fathom or comprehend at all. Logically, the other teachers of Thoth Academy should be probably far stronger then they pretended to be as well!

"Listen up, punks!" boomed Fierce Storm as he suddenly descended in front of the Magic Caravan and shook the earth for a mile, "Ahead of us is Red Mercury Forest. This shall be the site of the Rank 1 Mystic Beast Trial!"
