Marvel: My Own Path

Chapter 26 - Meeting

(Author: Important announcement at the author's thoughts.)

Manhattan, East River—S.P.E.A.R.

A month after the Hand Compound incident.

Atop the training building's open-air rooftop, a young man could be seen sitting cross-legged, as if in a meditative pose. The view from the place nearly overlooked all of Midtown Manhattan as well as the East River that drifted far into the distance.

From time to time, low growls and faint rumbles escaped Skye's body, it was as if his body was undergoing a change as a mighty aura emanated from him.

At this moment, golden flames bathed the entirety of Skye as he felt his very blood, cells, muscles, and bones drink and devour both Qi and sunlight.

Continuously cultivating the Tyrannical Champion Physique, Skye used its superior Qi as an 'energy source' for his Tier 2 Kryptonian Physique, inching it closer and closer to completion. By using Qi, which is the life-force of all things, as a source for the physique, Skye was able to augment the Kryptonian Physique further since it was a stronger and better 'source' than the radiation of sunlight.

*Pop!*

"Finally," smiled Skye as he stood up and clenched his fist. "Kryptonian Physique Tier 2, complete."

After more than two months of exposure to sunlight and Qi, Skye finally achieved grand completion of the physique.

He then checked his status page.

"Nice," Skye smiled when he saw his status page improvements and felt the enhancement of his strength.

Activating his Sharingan, Skye looked at his limbs on a cellular level. And in his vision, he could see his ever-flowing cells being encased by faint golden auras as they drifted alongside golden flames.

The contrasting image didn't look weird one bit but instead looked harmonious, as if it was the right thing to be.

"Huu..." when he exhaled, Skye felt the immense power roaming berserk throughout his body, as if wishing to be unleashed on a target.

Skye took a few moments to calm himself down and adjusted his breathing, but at that moment, his ears twitched as he heard a faint knocking sound below.

Curious, he stood up and walked to the edge of the rooftop and looked down the ground, only to see two figures standing in front of his building's giant gate.

One of them was wearing a suit and sunglasses with a white cane in his hand while the other one was a blond-haired man wearing a casual blazer.

The two seemed to be talking about something as Skye looked at the two while scrutinizing them.

"...that blind guy, isn't he the one that was captured in the warehouse alongside Jade? And that blonde dude, wasn't he homeless the last time I saw him? He's wearing branded clothes now...did he get rich overnight?" Skye muttered under his breath.

Putting one foot on the very edge of the rooftop, Skye leaped down towards the two and landed right beside them.

The blind man seemed unbothered while the blond man, on the other hand, was surprised as he looked up and did a double-take on both Skye and the rooftop above.

"Excuse me, are you also a fellow martial artist?" he asked as he looked at Skye up and down.

"Martial artist?" Skye paused for a moment before laughing. "You could say that." as he said this, he started walking around the two in circles as if inspecting both of them.

The blind man seemed to remain unbothered while the blond guy contrastingly, was excited, the expression clear on his face.

Skye ignored the former and stared at the latter's eyes which were filled with the intent to battle.

He wasn't foreign to such expressions and immediately knew what the previously homeless guy was thinking since he had seen countless of such eyes in his previous life.

Of course, all of those eyes had turned from excitement and passion into either fear, respect, or awe after a bout against Skye. This one wouldn't be any different.

"You wanna fight?" Skye smiled and asked.

Thrilled to finally meet another fellow master of combat, the latter nodded his head repeatedly and introduced himself.

"My name is Daniel Rand, but you can call me Danny."

Daniel Rand?

Skye said the name in his heart since it was a name he had heard before.

The quiet blind man also seemed surprised as he glanced at Danny and asked. "Daniel Rand, the previously 'lost' son of the founder of Rand Enterprises? You were alive?"

Danny nodded his head in response. "I was fortunate enough to survive the plane crash and was even more fortunate to come across the warrior monks of K'un-Lun."

"K'un-Lun?" Skye was taken aback when he heard the familiar name. "You also come from that place?"

'So that explains why he looked like that the last time...'

"Also?" Danny was surprised by Skye's words. "You know of K'un-Lun?"

Skye nodded and replied since it wasn't any secret. "I've clashed against a group called the Hand and eliminated two of their leaders, the remaining three will follow them soon."

'...what?' Danny's head buzzed in confusion at the revelation as he couldn't believe what he had just heard.

The five leaders of the Hand were from the Order of the Crane Mother, which is the best warrior monk society in all of K'un-Lun, making the five of them as strong as his elders and teachers—yet this young man before him claimed to have eliminated two of them?

"That is not possible." Danny denied. "I, the Immortal Iron Fist, the guardian and weapon of K'un-Lun, have been tasked to fight and destroy the Hand. Only I can defeat them."

As he said his words, a firm expression appeared on his face while staring at Skye.

Skye knew that he wouldn't be able to convince the guy with words alone so he turned around and pushed open the gigantic gate and walked inside.

"K'un-Lun isn't the paramount of martial arts, follow me," he said before glancing at the other person with a cane in hand. "It's good to see you alive and kicking, come inside as well."

'So he does recognize me...' Matt Murdock thought as he 'looked' at the back of the nonchalant young back.

Having his senses vastly enhanced since his accident when he was a child, he had perception and awareness superior to the norm which allowed him to 'judge' and 'feel' different types of people.

However, regarding this mysterious young man that he had met a few months ago and only saw again now, he couldn't sense anything.

He was like a blank page, yet Matt knew and had even witnessed, that behind that seemingly indifferent attitude, is the most terrifying ruthlessness and ferocity in this world.

Following after Skye, Matt and Daniel walked inside the building, being the first visitors of S.P.E.A.R.
