"Boss, that girl has woken up."

Oscar came with a delightful news in which partially solved the matter on hand. It wasn't necessarily for Noah to just give up in this situation. The worse had yet to come so he shouldn't easily surrender to the demon inside him.

"Good. It's indeed the right timing." The luck was still on his side. In the next second, a solution came rolling to his feet.

"Get that woman away from that girl for at least an hour. I need to speak to that girl in a proper manner to gain her trust."

"Noted, Boss." Like usual, Oscar obediently followed Noah's order and immediately carried it out. So he returned to the room where the medical team treated the girl.

"Ms, we don't have suitable clothing for this lady so we need your help to get one for her. Will you follow us to the near shop to buy all the necessities?"

"But... but will she be just fine if I leave her?"

"Don't worry, Ms. The medical team will continue to stand by here in case of anything happen. Plus we don't hold any sort of ill intentions and our master is from a very reputable family hence we couldn't afford to ruin his image."

"If that so, I believe in you. Let's go." With that, Elaine left the room in a hurried step.

Not too long after that, Noah walked into the same room and briefly gestured the medical team to leave as well. Understood their master's gesture, all of them went out quietly, leaving only two of them.

The unconscious girl earlier on struggled to keep her eyes wide open. Her pale skin slowly darkened to her neutral skin tone as the blood smoothly flew through her veins.

"Ms Hannah Douglas, I'm Noah... Noah O'Sullivan. You may not know me but I bet you've heard my surname once in your life. Are you comfortable to talk to me as of this moment? Do you need water?"

The girl hardly nodded her head.

Noah poured out the plain water into the small cup and helped the girl by supporting her head to make her easier swallowed the water.

"You... you're.. the one... who saved... me?"

"I found you just in time or else the drugs might destroy your immune system before we could save you."

"Thank... thank you... I... I... truly grateful.. to you..."

"If so, I hope you can help me solve the riddles. Will you?"

Out of gratitude, the girl hurriedly agreed to his request.

"The one who drugged you... is he your boyfriend, Russell Stafford?"

The instant that name was uttered, that girl's grateful expression changed immediately. She looked shock and at the same time was about to cry. A couple of tears was evident around the corner of her eyes.

"Is he the one who did this to you?"

"I... He... I..."

"It's alright if you can't answer my question but I hope that you're aware of what he might do to you in the future if you can't solve this matter quickly. He's dangerous."

Noah sounded so genuine when he said this concern causing the girl to gradually fall apart even though the concern this man had showed to her might not be a real one. Even that had touched her lonely heart as it had been awhile since someone reminded her about the consequences of her choice.

Despite being spoiled by her rich family, no one had actually took notice of her which prompted her to go astray. Her parents easily granted her requests without further probing into the matters which made her to assume that they did that just to shoo her away from disturbing them. Were her parents truly care for her?

"At least you can't admit his doings, can you tell where I can find him? I just want to make sure that he won't go near you again."

"Why... why did you.. want to... help me?"

"Do you want to hear an honest answer or a lie? If you chose the truth, I hope you can bear the brutal reality."

"You did this because of my father?" Hannah effortlessly made a guess in which usually was the only reason why people came to look for her.

"Since you've already known about it, I shall be frank to you. Yes, indeed that it's your father that I'm targeting but I have never compromised to this kind of situation especially when it's involving drugs. As bad as I corner my targets into a dead end, drugs are never my option as my torturing method. So I was quite surprised seeing you fell into this trap and I'm genuine to help you. If not, I shouldn't be bothered to break many traffic laws just to get you receiving the needed treatment."

As he revealed this, his expression was cold but it was contrary to his warm voice. Like usual, he appeared to be a gentleman. The serious face of him made her believed that he was being honest with her right now.

"You may think that I'll use the 'savior' card to strike a deal with your father but I bet that you also know that that kind of trick somehow is a useless one. We're from the same background so we both know what's exactly like to be the apple of the family's eyes. It's just a bullshit that our family fed the public."

"You... you..." Wuuu~ wuuu~

The last sentence really hit the nail on the head, breaking down the last defence that had protected her all this while. No matter how bad people badmouthed about her, nothing could affect her emotionally. She just brushed off people's talking about her family's influence on her career growth and continued doing her works as best as she could. Because she knew that those people were envy of luxuries that came with huge sacrifice. Indeed, her family especially her father had ensured her steady career advancement but at the expense of losing the genuine parental care from her parents. Outsiders would bash her being ungrateful if they were to know this truth but did anyone ever ask her the real reason why she decided to enter the industry at such a young age?
