Mute Girl The Series : Rose Thorns

After the breakfast, Jane's mood still hadn't back to normal so the tour was done half-heartedly. Within an hour, they finished going around the school. They still got around two hours before the noon class. In this kind of mood, Jane sluggishly took a nap at the bench, leaving Mia clueless of what to do. She wasn't sleepy at all. So she just sat there as she waited for Jane to wake up.

Sometimes, she would fiddle with the smart watch to lessen the boredom. She remembered that Carolyn had helped her saving their contact in it so to get used with the function, she opened the contact list and noticed another contact that was saved in it under the name 'FOX'. The number was even set as her emergency contact although she didn't know this number belonged to whom. When she tried to change the setting, accidentally she hit the call button and the line got connected immediately.

Panicking, she tried to off the call but before she managed to do that, a hoarse male voice buzzed through the smart watch. Mia was speechless. No word could come out from her mouth. Hurriedly, she pressed the red button and even switched off the watch dramatically. As she calmed herself down, a group of students passed by them while gossiping about her in the daylight. They didn't even bother to tune down their voice and even purposely spoke among themselves loudly.

"Hey.. is that the new kid?" She has got her uniform... It means she's really Master Nick's student."

"How did she even get in? Someone with no basic martial art has no place here. Plus, she was the daughter in law of Mayor O'Ryan. A famous figure like her as an agent... I don't think it gonna work well..."

"Yeah true... she gonna blow up our identities if she goes on the mission..."

Haihhh... when they gonna stop talking about her? Everywhere she went, she became the target and they would stare at her continuously. She couldn't walk alone in the future if the gossip didn't die down.

Mia knew that she shouldn't have stand for herself but everything they were talking was indeed true. How she gonna rebuke the gossip?! She entered this school without passing any test and it was true that she didn't know anything about fighting skills.

"CAN'T ALL OF YOU SHUT UP?!!! DIDN'T YOU SEE I'M SLEEPING HERE?!!!

Out of blue, Jane snapped at the group ferociously. Her eyes were flaming in red and looked at them with disgust. Gezz.... she really hated people who only knew how to gossip but chickened out when being challenged. Jane actually had woken up earlier but remained unmoved because she wanted to meditate peacefully while enjoying the nature but got disturbed by those unpaid reporters.

One of them tried to retort back but got held on by their friends, "tsk... what are you doing? Next to that next kid is Jane... you want to get beaten up by her?" Scared with Jane's scolding, all of them sheepishly went away as they dropped off the topic.

Mia, next to fierce Jane, froze in fear. She didn't dare to draw a single breathe, afraid that her breathing sound would agitate Jane more. Although she wasn't the one that Jane scolded, she too got scared and almost peed in her pants....

"Let's go! The class is about to start.." Jane's voice suddenly turned gentle and a wide smile plastered on her face. That vicious expression was replaced by the happy Jane. Her enthusiastic level back to normal.

Mia just nodded her head and followed Jane obediently. She had never been this compliant before.

Haihhh... it wasn't even half a day and yet Jane's mood had gone up and down unpredictably. Would she be able to survive before the day ended? wuuu~ Carolyn, save me....

In less than ten minutes, they both reached the training hall. Carolyn was waiting for them at the side of the left cornered arena where the practice for 1st tier Apprentice usually took place. Seeing Carolyn there, Mia eagerly ran to her and hugged Carolyn tightly.

"Wuuu~~~ I miss you. Why did your morning class take so long?" cried Mia.

Carolyn notice how pale Mia's face and asked, "Heyy... what's wrong?"

Expecting Carolyn to sympathy with her, Mia made her puppy face and shoved at Jane's direction with hidden message. Seeing this, Carolyn softly laughed at the cute expression and comforted her, "Just get used to it... Her temper isn't as bad as your first time. It'll get better the more you spend time with her.."

Carolyn had been with Jane since their first day orientations so she knew Jane inside and out. Despite of their difference in personalities, both of them could communicate well and stay together in harmony.

Mia got no choice but to accept her fate as it was.

wuuu~~~ Poor Mia...

The class then started but just when the 2nd tier Apprentice was about to give instructions, an elite in a green uniform intruded their arena and called up both Jane and Mia. Instantly, the other 1st tier Apprentice hushed among themselves when this happened. Surely in no second, everyone would know Jane's nerveless attack against the senior this morning and once again, Mia became the hot topic for the day along with Jane although it wasn't her doing.

Mia couldn't help but turn to look at Carolyn, asking to save her. She wasn't guilty! She was implicated in this issue because she was there with Jane.

While Carolyn, fortunately unaffected, could only laugh in this situation. Haih... this Jane was really... naughty.

"Little JJ, why did you do this time? Dean asks me to call you and this new kid to the office. Come follow me." said the elite guy once both of them approached him.

This elite senior and Jane seemed to have a close relationship since he called Jane with a sweet nickname.

Jane, on the other hand, just rolled her eyes, as if she did nothing wrong while Mia felt like her heart had dropped when she saw Jane making an annoyed face to the senior.

Today was her second day but virtually she had died three times in just one day...
