Mute Girl The Series : Rose Thorns

At the warden office, Senior Dean was busy scribbling on the stack of doc.u.ments that was pending to process. When his partner on duty, Jayden brought the two girls into the office, he intentionally ignored them. His eyes remained on the papers and did his work like they were invisible. This puzzled three of them especially Jayden. Thirty minutes ago, he was repeatedly pestered by Dean to personally fetch these two troublemakers to the office and now this Dean acted as if he got stuck in his own world with no way out.

Refused to be part of this acting, Jayden excused himself using the routine inspection as an excuse. He rather walked around the school to monitor the activities ongoing under the blazing sun than stuck in that situation. So Jane and Mia ended up standing there for a vey long time, pretended to be unnoticed by Dean.

In that air conditioning room, Mia was sweating. She nervously stood there and waited for the Senior to acknowledge them but the Senior hadn't showed any sign of noticing their presence in the room. She could sense that this Senior intended to torture them in silent. Well, only stupid person couldn't see through his acting.

But this way was much more better than getting their meal taken away or other punishments so Mia prayed in her heart that this matter gonna end very soon however little did she know that the person next to her, was getting impatient. She was about to reach the 'explode' state. Any second longer, she would smash the things in the warden office. However, the man in front of her was her crush so she couldn't show the ruthless side of her to this alluring man.

Jane rub her c.h.e.s.t a few times to soothe down her anger. She thought to herself, 'No Jane. No. You have to endure it. Be the most elegant woman in the world and he'll look at you one day. Be patient Jane. Be patient..' Jane kept on saying these mantra to brainwash her devil inside her.

Her action attracted Mia to look at her and Mia was surprised to see how red Jane's face was. Jane's eyes were closed but she was slapping her c.h.e.s.t a few times. Mia confused whether Jane was blushing or she actually endured from blowing up in front Senior Dean or she wasn't feeling well after standing for almost two hours. Worried that Jane was truly sick, Mia took a closer at Jane's face and touched her forehead.

"Aww!!" Spontaneously Mia hissed in pain. Her hand felt like touching the burning charcoal. Jane's forehead was really hot!

"What's wrong?" Senior Dean finally lifted his head and frowned at them, wondering what else the issue was.

"Se... Senior Dean... Jane.. I .. think she has a fever..." Nervous, Mia stammered as she spoke to Senior Dean unlike the first time she casually asked for a leeway to skip the martial art trainings.

Fever? This kid was just fine and healthy when she offended her direct senior a few hours ago but how come suddenly had a fever after an-hour standing in air conditioning room?!

"Are you sure she has a fever? We aren't under the scorching sun so...."

Dean was cut off by Jane's sudden fall and Mia's shout in between. "JANE!!" He rushed to their side and checked Jane's pulse rate and body temperature. It was indeed above the normal heat and her pulse was quite fast.

"Quick, put her on my back. We'll run to the infirmary."

Mia followed the instruction and jogged behind Senior Dean to the clinic. Luckily, it wasn't far from the warden office. At the same time, Jayden had just finished his round and his last stop was at the clinic so he bumped into them on the way Senior Dean carried Jane to the available bed.

Jayden curiously asked Mia, "What happen?"

"Jane.. she suddenly has a fever..."

"What?! Little JJ..." Quickly he dashed to Jane's side and urgently called for the nurse on duty to check on her. He looked so concern about Jane as if Jane was dying.

"A mild fever. She'll be fine after a beg of IV drip." The nurse finished injecting the drip into one of the vein and before she could walk away to continue her other works, Jayden stopped and asked the nurse again, "Are you sure? Her body is burning. Maybe you can call Dr. Sean to do further.."

He was about to request for second time check up by the doctor himself but got held up by a hand on his wrist. Jane finally opened her eyes and clutched Jayden's wrist to reassure him.

"I'm fine. Don't worry..."

Half-believing, he then dismissed the nurse and sweetly asked Jane in gentle tone, "Do you want to eat porridge? I'll ask the kitchen to cook chicken porridge for you. That's your favourite whenever you fall sick..."

Woah... this Senior Jayden even knew Jane's favourite food and his look just now was like a worried boyfriend. Mia suspected that both of them were in a relationship but chose to remain low-key about it to avoid people gossiping. Mia felt like she was third-wheeling and very awkward to see the couple being lovey-dovey right in front of her eyes so she volunteered to go to the dining hall to ask for the porridge.

"I can go to ask for one now. I'll come back once the porridge is ready." Using this excuse, she wanted to get out of the clinic as fast as she could but then as she turned around to the exit, a man with a pair of bloodshot eyes strode over in a quick pace to where she stood.

"F27, you press the emergency call because of your friend fell sick?!Nevermind, as your master, I shall 'rescue' you from this 'danger'. F13 and G25, both of you punished because you've failed to carry out your obligation as the elite on duty. Go to the horse stand and clean them up.."
