Mute Girl The Series : Rose Thorns

At three in the morning, suddenly the siren loudly screaming, f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y s.u.c.k.e.d in the wandering souls into where they belonged. Mia jerked open her eyes, panicking of what was going on. She still hadn't gotten used of the siren sound since today was only her third day here. She desperately wanted to continue her sleep because she had a tiring day yesterday but her brain freshly awoke.

"Mia!!! Wake up. Hurry, we have less than 2 minutes to get to the training hall or else we'll be punished..." Carolyn urgently reminded Mia of the consequence of being late to the hall. Getting a punishment was what everyone feared the most in this training school, well to the majority of the students. Only the 'minority' was brave enough to challenge how this school worked under the reward and punishment system.

Seeing that Mia remained unmoved, Jane dragged her out of the bed and said, "Oh come on Mia! Get your a.s.s moving. Let's be a role model student for today. At least for once in our lifetime here..."

No choice, she hurriedly washed up the sleepy face and changed into the black uniform. The three musketeers then sprinted to the training hall as fast as they could like a pack of cheetah running for their preys. It was chaotic and Mia was out of breath when she reached the hall.

Inside the hall, like usual evening class, everyone gathered obediently there and waited for the instructors to come. But this round, the atmosphere was gloomy and quiet. This was the first time they were forced to wake up in the middle of the night and rushed to the hall. So everyone was being grumpy and had no mood to talk with each other.

Only when the lights abruptly switched off, leaving them in darkness, they started to hush among themselves. Especially the three musketeers, the dark surrounding drove them into an alert state where they became worried of their last night's naughty behaviour being found out by the regulators of this school.

"Did Senior Jayden sell us out?" asked Carolyn, anxiously. Their escape plan last night was smoothly carried out but it was at the mercy of Senior Jayden. If he were to expose them, the three musketeers would definitely be in trouble.

However based on their interaction with Senior Jayden so far, he wasn't a blabbermouth and they could trust him with their secrets unless their close relationship got estranged. If this were to happen, out of three of them, Jane held the key to this betrayal. So Mia took the guess and questioned Jane, "Was your date last night not going well? Did he break up with you?"

"Oh Mia! Stop that nonsense... For once and all, we're not together. Even if we were, I'll be the one who dump him." Again, Jane clarified their ambiguous relationship. She was keen to deny that they were a pair of lover couple despite how lovely Senior Jayden showed his concern towards her.

While they waited in the darkness, those who had sharp eyes would have sensed the swift movements around them but the unknown shadows were too fast. In a blink of eyes, their hands and legs got tied, their mouths were stuffed with thick fabrics and lastly they were blindfolded one by one.

They were silently sweating in nervousness. This handicap had put a seal on their vision and movement. They couldn't fight back. If this were a test, they totally messed up their chance to be promoted to a higher rank. They had failed miserably. Realising of this possibility, those students who worked hard for the test felt devastated and hurt as if they had lost their dignity. They had lost the opportunity to prove their potential.

But to three musketeers, they thought it was the punishment for breaking the rule last night. So they only hoped that they weren't expelled from the school. Just like when they came here, they all were blindfolded and the same situation happened again now. So it made sense if the school decided to expel them out of the school and send them in the same way as they got in. This thought saddened three of them on the ground that Jane had yet to achieve her dream to wear the Black uniform and be under Master Nick's guidance while Carolyn wished to be one of the elites. Mia, on the other hand, longed to meet her biological parents hence she accepted her fate to be in this school as per Noah's arrangement. If she were to be expelled now, she won't be able to meet her real parents.

In that moment of frustration of failing to realise their dream into reality, they suddenly sniffed a pungent smell infiltrated into the clean air and it choked up their breathing. They felt dizziness afterwards and some tried to hold their breath as to not inhale the contaminated air more into their lungs. Those who failed to apply this smart move, they fainted pretty much quicker than those who did. But still, all of them ended up losing their consciousness. Unknown to them, multiple sleeping gasses were released in that spacious training hall since the entrance door was shut down. They didn't realise it until the gasses became too concentrated.
