My Life In Blue Exorcist

(Yukio): "I have some stuff to deal with. Why don't you guys go to the dorm or the library while I'm out. Take care of my brother you two."

I leave Nii-san and his familiars as i walk to Mephisto's office to deal with the lack of a guardian for the southern entrance and give my report to him.

I look back at Nii-san smiling and chatting with his new familiar, our father's former familiar, whilst his goblin familiar sleeps on his head.

His recent behaviour surprised me quite a fair bit. When Nii-san asked me for help to study i thought it was some kind of bad omen, but when I saw the look in his eyes I could tell that he was serious, so I just agreed to his request.

when i was helping him though, i was surprised on his level in knowledge. not because it was bad but because it was higher than I expected. when i asked Nii-san his response was that he got a friend to help him out for most of his subjects.

Nii-san getting a friend! what! When I heard that, I felt something was definitely wrong. Nii-sans sudden change after father's death. He's a lot quieter than I expected him to be and he seems friendly with two of his classmates. that and he seems interested enough with his exorcist studies that he's actually taking notes and asking others for help now.

I'm happy for Nii-san finally acting his age and all but when i see him like that i don't know how to feel. He's finally living a normal life compared to before but I feel like I'm being left behind.

For as long as I can remember I've always been able to see Demons, so I was always crying at the unknown. Father saved me from that and trained me to become an exorcist. Whilst I was living in the dark, Nii-san was living in the light and for that reason I started dispising him even though I still love him as my older brother.

and seeing the same Nii-san embracing the dark and stabilizing himself got me thinking. What's my purpose now that Nii-san is able to protect himself now. He doesn't need my help anymore. When he was dealing with the Kuro event and even getting the catnip wine, it looked like he had everything planned from the beginning.

he's not the hot-headed older brother that I've learned to love and hate. So what my purpose now that the person father entrusted to has already left his nest and has grown up. Much faster than i expected him to.

(Amethyst): "Y-yukio-chan!"

As I was on my way to Mephisto's office I hear a girl calling out my name. Great another fangirl. I don't want to sound arrogant but I'm quite popular in this school so the number of people around me has grown to an annoying extent.

When I turned around, I see a girl with brown hair that goes to her shoulder and green eyes, wearing a white headband with a green flower design on it, a white to top with the words "Nature" written on it that's covered with a bit of dirt and a green skirt.

(Yukio): "Umm... Sorry but have we met before?"

I give her a curious look since most fangirls would just call me Okumura-kun or something along the line.

(Amethyst): "Yes! Back in middle school! You saved me from a demon that attacked."

Oh, I remember now. If memory serves me right her name's Amethyst bell, the victim of a demon that loved to hunt down middle school girls before devouring them. Luckily I was able to save her when she was on her way home before she was about to be devoured but I'm sure that it left her a mental scar on her.

what's she doing here?

(Yukio): "Oh i remember now. How have you been since 'that' incident, Bell-san?"

(Amethyst): "Please call me Amethyst. I've been able to get over it and I'm able to resume my school life again. I was just walking back to my dorm room after watering the flowers at school."

she says as she shows the watering jug in her hand.

(Yukio): "Have you been seeing any other demons since then? I'm sure it was a traumatic experience for you, but you should be careful when going out at night. It hasn't been safe for the last couple of days, so you should be careful."

the demons are acting up more frequently for the last couple of months and even more since Nii-san awakened his flames. For now, I don't know if there's any places that are truly safe outside of the school campus.

(Amethyst): "Huh? I've always been able to Demons so I've never really felt scared of them. Although I was scared for a few weeks of them after that incident, I think I got over most of my fears now."

She tells me that as she cutely tilts her head. Huh?

(Yukio): "Wait, You've been able to see Demons for your whole life?"

(Amethyst): "Yeah. since I was a kid I'd always attract demons and they're kinda cute. I used to get picked on by the normal kids for talking to them, since no one else can see them."

she gives a slight smile when she said those words. Another one like me, huh.

(Yukio): "Well your not the only one. I've also been able to see demons since I was a kid. looks like we have something in common."

when i said that i gave a big smile. it's been a while since I've genuinely enjoyed having a small conversation like this.

(Amethyst): "Y-yeah, I-i should head back to my dorm room before my roommate starts getting worried. See you around, Yukio-chan!"

She hangs her head down with her face red as she said those words before quickly departing.

Did she get a sudden fever? I guess it's still quite chilly.

(Rin): "What did I just witness?:

-Rin's Pov-

After naming kuro, Yukio left saying he has some stuff to deal with so we didn't stop him. It probably had to do with getting someone to fill Kuro's old post.

(Rin): "So What do you guys think about Yukio?"

They both tilt their heads when they heard my sudden question. honestly it looked a bit cute.

I don't want to talk behind his back but i need their help if i'm going to help him.

(Midori): "I think he's a little too serious for his own good. I see come home late at night or wake up extra early doing some kind of report or going to missions. I'm worried that he's gonna collapse from overworking himself."

Midori gives me a serious face before telling me about Yukio's behaviours. I know that he was coming home late but I didn't think he'd wake up extra early as well. Should i get Mephisto to help? Actually no since he doesn't even do his job as our guardian properly. Looks like I need to deal with him sooner rather than later so he doesn't become a headache like in the original.

(Kuro): "I think he's a bit scary. The smile he gave me creeped me out abit since it looks like he wasn't in a good mood."

Wasn't in a good mood, huh. He definitely has something on his mind then.

(Rin): "Looks like we'll have to deal with him sooner rather than later. You two wanna help me make him take a chill pill?"

(Midori and Kuro): "Sure!"

We walked our way back to the campus. The schools massive with the entrances a little far away from the actual campus. When we got back to the campus we see Yukio talking to that Amethyst girl from the Culture Club.

(Rin): "That little shit. If he wanted to go on a date with his little girlfriend than he could've told us."

Of course I'm joking, but I'm curious about what they're talking about. I strained my ears after hiding in one of the bushes. Its little far away for a normal person to hear but not for demons like us.

F.u.c.ks sake the soils wet. My shoes!

I only heard what they said when Amethyst tells Yukio that she's been able to see Demons her whole life. So there's another one like yukio, huh. Luckily she's different from him and doesn't hide her emotions.

When Yukio talked about them having something in common and Amethyst started blushing i was screaming "Cliche!" in my head.

I've never seen someone blush like a tomato before and Yukio's probably dismissing it as a fever or something.

I don't wanna sound big headed or anything, but am I the protagonist or Yukio?

He seems to be thick headed in the most annoying places.

(Rin): "What did i just witness?"

I almost said that a little too loudly and Yukio almost heard me.

Hmm... I may have another idea for him to chill out.

-Yukio's Pov-

After talking with Amethyst Yukio was still confused on what happened with Amethyst. Luckily that was enough for him to stop thinking about Rin as he continued walking to Mephisto office subconsciously, one of his bad habits of walking without thinking and somehow ending up at certain places.

(Yukio): "Haa, i did it again."

I really need to stop that bad habit of mine. I subconsciously walked to Mephisto's office whilst my head was at cloud nine.

(Door-kun): Knock*, knock*

(Mephisto): "Enter~!"

I knocked on Mephisto's office and was greeted by Mephisto's voice. When I opened the door Mephisto is sitting in his office with his head facing the computer screen as he's playing some kind of rpg game.

(Yukio): "Nii-san has tamed the familiar as you predicted. They seem to have a friendly bond with each other."

Last night when Nii-san fell asleep I called Mephisto to see what he'll say. To my surprise he actually agreed to let Nii-san see the canister, but what surprised me more was when Nii-san found out what it was with just a smell.

(Yukio): "Now tell me how you knew this would happen."

This seems too convenient to happen. Nii-san taming father's former familiar and the medicine that father gave me happens to be catnip. Not to mention Nii-sans recent change in behaviour seems too convenient for my liking.

(Mephisto): "Like I said before. It's no fun when the audience finds out before the big reveal. After all it'll ruin the effect and make the plot seem predictable and cliche."

he says as he gives a disgusting smile, as if he's laughing at the fact I'm clueless on what vile plan he's cooking up.

(Mephisto): "About the replacement guardian, you don't have to worry as I'll send out a familiar to guard his post. Well if you have nothing else to say than you are dismissed. Oh and please do relax when you have the chance. Wouldn't want to worry your brother now, do we?."

He lazily shoos me away as he continues playing his game. The man...

(Yukio): "Haaaah."

I leave the office as I sigh deeply. As long as I keep an eye out for anything suspicious nothing should happen to Nii-san. Only problem is that Nii-san looks for trouble. He seems stable for now but it's only a matter of time before either he gets the attention of someone.

-Mephisto-

tsk tsk tsk you should know young yukio that the game master doesn't like to spoil the surprise. It'll all make sense in due to time, so forgive until then. I wonder what I could do to make you relax a bit. Oooh I suppose I could do that...

-Rin Pov-

Since today is Saturday, I don't have any lessons with my instructors, so it's a free day for me.

(Kuro): "Hey, Rin, where we going now?"

After watching the little scene with Yukio and Amethyst, my two familiars and I went around the mall for some snacks. I wanted to get some late night snacks for studying to night since I want to start learning barriers. I'm already good with my offensive power at the moment but I want to make sure I can protect others without relying too much on my flames.

(Rin): "Hello honemaru-san"

(Honemaru): "Hello Okumura-kun, you're interested in Christianity now?"

I went to the library after putting the snacks in my room, since I wasn't allowed to bring any animals in the library. I find it weird that people can see Kuro but not Midori. Since I didn't want to leave Kuro by himself i left Midori there as well. The reason for going to the library today is because I want to learn a bit more about the history of this world, so I thought learning about christianity would be a good start.

(Rin): "Yeah my interest are pretty random but luckily I like reading so there's no problem. The librarians out again, I presume?"

(Honemaru): "Well I'm glad to know you have a broad interest, and yes, the librarians out at the moment so I'm here."

Honemaru-san says that as she scans the library books.

(Honemaru): "Would you like to join the literature club? I'm sure everyone would love to have you there."

(Rin): "Umm... I would love to but i'm already part of the Culture club."

Honemaru suddenly talks about joining the literature club all of a sudden. I would love to but I'm already busy with the culture club. Plus the Culture clubs already so much fun so I'd rather not leave and join the literature club.

(Honemaru): "Oh i didn't realise that you were part of the legendary Culture Club. You know a lot of rumours are spreading around about that club."

Rumours?

(Rin): "What kind of rumours?"

(Honemaru): "I heard that the senpai's of the Culture club all have a unique history to them that leaves all their teachers with headaches. It's also rumoured to have connections with the mysterious principal that shows up only during celebrations."

Yep that definitely sounds like the club from the way i see everyone act and mephisto, really? no wonder he wasn't there at the first day of school.

(Honemaru): "I've heard that the club president, Kasamugi Drazen, 'The Hateful Serpent', is known for getting under other people's skin. It's been said that he never backs down when he has a way of dealing with things, looking at danger or at people straight in their faces and never backing away. The teachers all hate him because he likes to look for trouble and it's been said that he hasn't lost any fights since entering."

Honemaru talks about Kasamugi senpai's history with her eyes shining. So Kasamugi-senpai has that kind of history, huh. When I picture that lazy club president that overreacts whenever he gets killed in black ops, it makes it hard for me to imagine the rumours are true.

(Rin): "Any other Rumours about the Culture Club?"

(Honemaru): "Yeah! 'The Club Queen', Sorano Mitsuko is a member as well. She has a history of being known as the 'club wrecker'. She challenged all the sports clubs and single handedly defeated all the aces in their respective fields earning the hatred of all sports clubs and was the champion of last years sports tournament."

Sorano is the blue haired girl thats second the akane on the black ops leaderboard. The club Queen, a foe to be reckoned with is just chilling in the club room playing games like a maniac. She doesn't give the athletic vibe though.

(Honemaru): "Then there's Akane Miyamoto, The 'little nightmare' of True Cross academy. It's been said that on the first day of school she was pursued by many students for her quiet and cute nature, but she soon got irritated and left the men that were pursuing her in a terrible state after he tried getting close to her."

I picture the same cute girl, that has a serious personality issue, playing on the playstation but then suddenly attacking me when the leaderboards were shown. I can imagine why she's called the little nightmare.

(Honemaru): "Next is Chelsea Applebee, the 'sword saint'. She came here during her second year and challenged the kendo club. Club was just restoring itself to their peak after they're defeat with Mitsuko-senpai, but was soon challenged by Chelsea-senpai and was once again destroyed."

Yep i can imagine that sword maniac doing something like that. Since I've been making improvements with my swordsmanship, we've been having more spars with each other where i found out that she's another battle junkie.

(Honemaru): "Then we have Sae, 'The Bewitcher'. On the first day of school a group of students tried making fun of him for his trademark long white hair that makes even the girls jealous of him and his eyepatch on his right eye. But the following the day the group of students look at him with fear and they panic whenever someone mentions his name. It's been rumoured that he's blackmailed them into leaving him alone or rumours are rumours so don't take it seriously."

I picture the Kaneki look-alike with his eye patch trying to shoot at me in Black Ops and me doing the same to him before Akane or Sora comes out of nowhere and kill the two of us. Seriously? That guy uses blackmail?

(Honemaru): "Then we have Naneko Nozomi, the 'Lazy Neko of School'. She proclaims herself to be a cat-girl that sleeps around school even during lessons but she also got another nickname, the 'sleeping beauty of learning', she has the best grades of the second years and even finished her exam an hour early before taking a nap."

Well she is a cat demon, if I'm correct. I can't imagine her getting the best grades in her year from the way I see her sleeping in the clubroom and she seems awfully energetic for a person who loves sleeping a lot.

(Honemaru): "Then finally we have Natsuno Kirihime, the 'Ice Queen'. When she joined the school she was swarmed by love letters and confessions, but she rejected every single one of them. She's never been seen smiling but her beauty is known to the entire school and every boy in school wants to go out with her."

I had a feeling something that happen. Yep this is definitely an anime world. No wonder she gave the kuudere vibe.

(Rin): "Have a good day."

(Honemaru): "You too."

After finishing our little chat I headed to the dorm room. I tried digested all the information I received and started comparing everyone with what I heard.

Haaah, I guess I need to get used to these kind of surprises

When I got to the dorm, I find the front land of the dormitory destroyed with dust clouds everywhere. What the f.u.c.k happened when I was gone?

(Rin): "What the hell happened here?

(Kuro): "Welcome back Rin!"

Kuro walks out from a dust cloud as he casually greets me.

(Rin): "Care to explain what happened while I was out?"

-A few moments ago in the dorm room-

(Midori): "Hey Kuro let me show you around the place."

(Kuro): "Sure!"

After Rin-sama dropped us off at the dorm room, I got bored and wanted to show Kuro around the dormitory.

We first headed to the top floors before making our way to the bottom. The top 3 floors are all dorm rooms so we went to every room before going to the large bathroom. The bathtub is so large and it can fit me even when I'm at my large form.

(Midori): "Let's take a bath later!"

(Kuro): "Nooo!"

Kuro runs away when I mentioned taking a bath. Why's he scared? They're surprisingly refreshing.

After chasing after Kuro I apologised to him even though I don't know what I did wrong.

He forgives me and we carried on with the tour.

(Midori): "This is uncle Ukobach. Uncle Ukobach this is Kuro, a new familiar of Rins."

(Ukobach): "Oh, hey there kiddo. The names Ukobach, a friend of your master. If you want anything to eat just tell me and I'll start making away."

(Kuro): "Sure! Thanks!"

We told Ukobach that we're a bit hungry so he gave us some of the leftover cheesecake from yesterday. Cheesecake!

(Kuro): "I'm in heaven! Its so fluffy and tasty~!"

Kuro, just like me, started to devour the cheesecake as he said those words. Cheesecake is a gift from god!

(Midori): "And the best part is that Rin-sama and uncle Ukobach made it after trying a cooking book he got from the library."

(Ukobach): "Well shucks kiddo. I'll make some more for you later."

Uncle Ukobach rubs his head as he says that. I love my life!

When we finished having our fill, we carried on with the tour. Which didn't have much left, which was the bathroom, the reception area and lockers for the previous students. After looking at all those areas we went to the front entrance to look at the garden until Kuro stopped and spoke to me

(Kuro): "I think we need to decide something among fellow familiars."

I tilt my head at his sudden statement before he carried on speaking.

(Kuro): "Let's decide who's the strongest! I've been wanting to find out for a while now. The winner gets make the loser do something, but nothing that goes against their morals or anything that's too extreme."

Oh, I see now. It's part of our demonic nature to want to know who's the strongest. Well I've been training With Rin-sama so I'm not going to be easy to win against.

(Midori): "Hehe, bring it on!"

I performed the first strike after turning to my enlarged form. I aimed to end this quickly.

But to my surprise Kuro was able to dodge it and was moving faster and more nimbler than i can.

I tried using a faint which made kuro jump in the air. I jumped up to hit him while he couldn't move in the air. When I thought the attack would hit, Kuro shrank back to his normal form causing me to miss him with my attack. He transformed back into his bigger form, after getting closer than me, where slammed me into the floor.

(Kuro): "I win! I want to be the big brother for the familiars Rin has in the future! Nice working with you little brother!"

I lost... but for some reason I don't feel bad about it.

(Midori): "Aren't you older than me by a few hundred years, anyway?"

(Kuro): "Yeah but I thought this would've been an easier way to get your approval."

He gives me a cheeky smile as he says that. This cat...

(Midori): "Well, treat me well, older brother."

Maybe this won't be so bad afterall. I wonder if this is what it's like to have a family.

While we smiled at each, Kuro and I sensed the presence of our master and we greeted him

(Kuro): "Welcome back Rin!"

(Rin): "Care to explain what happened while I was out?

Kuro and I looked at each before smiling and nodding to each other.

(Midori and Kuro): "Nothing!"

We laughed like crazy leaving a confused Rin-sama tilting his head. Ee headed back to the dorm before ending the day by sleep. Today was a lot of fun! I can't wait for more fun!
