Chapter 20 - Faith Mark.

Use of Mana also known as magic in this novel was nothing less than confusing. The first animals that used mana as a form of attack were lizards the pre evolution of the Dragon and Wyverns. This whole world evolved according to my memories in every mana particle as such lizards developed a special ability. Because in myths I read lizards were connected to dragons they had weak devouring ability. In mythology Dragons would be described as greedy as such they would want everything in this world. Using this weak devouring ability they created first magic which is fire breath which was followed by many other types of elemental draconic breaths. Using devouring ability they would gather mana particles in their mouth and using their mind they would convert it into element.

This use of magic then was copied by the first Ape that called himself the King. After observing Wyverns, lizards and later the dragon he developed a magic fighting system. Using his mind he could control the particles and gather them in one place. When enough was gathered he would convert it into elemental attack. The speed in which he would gather the particles and the quantity all depended on his vessel. The higher your vessel level is the stronger connection with mana people and animals have.

Both creatures developed use of mana in some extent but because they were preoccupied by the narrow mind they were unable to see the answer right in front of their eyes. Lizards and later dragon relied on their innate ability. And Apes just copied other animals and didn't consider alternate ways.

Every living thing in this world has a vessel inside it. That vessel would always increase in size as the living creature grows up. The rate of growth could be different between the animals but they would still grow. The mana inside vessels are the exclusive mana just for the living creature to use. It's easily controllable and are far more powerful. But because of the reasons mentioned above many animals couldn't use mana inside their bodies.

It was that way until the fight between the Dragon and the Ape King. During their battle Ape King learned how to control mana inside his body but was shortly killed. The Dragon too learned that skill and still now is experimenting on it.

I am mentioning all of this because right now a new way of using magic was being created. The deer lived next to the world tree for ten days and all that time it prayed. From sunrise to sun fall the deer would always be in praying position. Because it was quite strong I also noticed some improvements in my mana and power. Improvements are not the important part but the important part was what happened in tenth day. Nothing was special that day except for some alterations in how the deer looked like.

First of all he was twice as small than it was before. It was still big but wasn't as big as a dragon. Other alteration in his body was a mark on his forehead. There was a tattoo of some sort in his forehead. It was green in color and depicted a tree. And whenever deers hoof touched the floor a small plants would grow in the place he walked on. And that were the only outer changes I have no idea what truly happened to the deer. I wanted to research it but for some reason after he got that mark the deer started to prance away. As he got away I could see plants growing on the places his hoof touched. I wanted to chase it but stoped midway. The Tree told me something. I couldn't understand it but I knew it wanted me to not follow the deer.

.......................................

The forest full of broken trees covered the whole horizon. The terrible storm destroyed many small trees. Those trees were just too weak to withstand such a terrible storm. The cursed place it was ridden by destruction. Years ago a great battle occurred here and destroyed the place around. The battle exhausted the origin of life itself and soon the trees wilted away. Life was destroyed but thankfully not everything was lost. The place soon grew even more powerful trees to return this place its previous glory. Alas those trees couldn't grow back as they were soon destroyed by the storm in their infancy. What a terrible cursed place this is.

Throughout this forest a deer was prancing around. Everywhere he stepped the trees again grew up. Destroyed by war, destroyed by storm those pitiful trees never gave up. They will grow up one day, someday and stand tall as before. This wonderful scene was seen by no one except for three people. One deer and two freaks of nature. Their bodies weak and trembling they looked at the deer. They looked at its forehead and cried out. Then they touched their own red mark and cried out again. They followed the trail left behind by the deer. Towards the place that was for them a paradise. In search of a person who could heal them of their curse.
