I didn't know how long I was running for. My surroundings were covered by darkness and howls of the wild beasts. Gigantic trees casted the darkest of the shadows creating a big maze. I've long forgotten what was my destination. Only thing I knew was to run westward and follow the biggest shadow. I ran and ran, never stopping because I knew that if I stopped they would catch me. My legs were tired and my head felt dizzy. When I was almost giving up I heard a roar. Looking back I saw a gigantic Wyvern following me. I tried running as fast as I could but in just few moments Wyvern appeared before. He roared and landed before me.

I knew that I couldn't escape him so I closed my eyes. I again heard a roar but that was all. I felt no pain or anything. The only thing I felt was warmth when someone touched my head. Slowly I opened my eyes and saw a humanoid shadow. I couldn't discern the shadows face but the shadow oddly looked familiar. Shadow looked like my mother. I couldn't help myself but to jump towards her. I hugged her and started crying. She didn't try to separate herself from me but instead started to slowly pat my head. Her warm hands slowly brought me to sleep and I closed my eyes.

....

Few hours ago before the chase!

I was in my lab as always doing my research when I heard familiar voices outside my lab. Slowly I finished everything I was doing and exited my lab. Outside there were five people. My love Igraine, our son, and three apes. Their leader Judas looked at me and said, "His majesty calls for you!"

I knew why he came here for and looked at my son. I knew that I had to go with the apes but my legs wouldn't move. I knew that if I left with them I will surely die and I could never see my love and my son again. A tiny teardrop left my eye and with all of my might I started to walk towards the apes. When I was leaving my cave I once again looked at Igraine and my son. I smiled looking at him and I nodded towards Igraine. I knew that this day would someday come and I planned an escape plan for my son.

My son wasn't like me or Igraine. He had golden hair and face and physique that looked exactly like those apes. When he was born I knew that it was fated. Fated for him to leave us and go towards elves. If my plan fails I know that they would be helpful.

Apes brought me towards His Highness's cave and I bowed down before him. His highness was as always in his usual place. Next to him were three gigantic eggs as always and when I entered the cave I was surrounded by two Wyverns. His highness looked at me and asked, "Uther do you know why I asked you to come?"

Without hesitation I answered by saying, "Yes, I do!"

When he heard me say that he continued by saying, "I heard the rumors that you hid your research from me. It was really hard for me to believe those rumors as I think too highly of you. You're one of my most faithful subjects and I want to hear your answer. Did you betray me?"

As much as it hurt me to say it but I had no choice but to utter following words, "Yes, I did betray you!" After saying that I slowly stood up and clenched my fist. With a yell I sent a punch towards his highness. My fist was so fast and powerful that it was accompanied by a strong gust of wind. My fist didn't touch his highness but the gust of wind clashed with his scales and left few dirt marks.

The Wyverns that were surrounding me and his highness attacked me without hesitation when they saw what I did. When they neared me I used both of my fists and sent the Wyverns flying. His highness was amazed by my power and he slowly stood up and left the cave. I too followed him because If we fought there at that time. The three gigantic eggs that were next to his highness would be damaged.

We exited the cave and high highness opened his wings and flew towards somewhere. I ran after him. Even thought I was running and his highness was flying, I kept up with him. After few minutes we came upon the land devoid of anyone. His highness landed next to me and he roared. He released mana from his body and that mana covered his claws. The mana that was condensed around his fist created an illusory claw that covered his real one. With a swipe of his claw I was sent flying. I only stopped when my back hit the tree. I slowly stood up and ran toward his highness. I jumped with all of my might and with clenched fist I punched his highnesses skull. My punch was powerful but it left no mark on his highness. Instead I was again sent flying with a swing of his tail.

I was sent flying far above the ground and when I was falling down. I could see a gigantic wave of fire coming towards me. I started punching air to create gusts of air to propel me. I barely evaded the Fire breath and landed far away from his highness. I gathered as much mana as I could around me to create a transparent armor from mana. Then I saw a little spark. In few moments that spark became a wave of fire far bigger than before and I couldn't do anything but to with all of my might protect myself.

When the wave of fire passed thru me what was left of me was my body burned black.
