Other Dimension's Knight

Chapter 27 - XXVII: Final Stage

Medea was not happy.

She knew what was happening to her, she could feel herself changing. Something that would have been impossible since she was already dead.

Servants, as strong as they were, weren't capable of growing anymore. They were just a projection of the beings that they were before their death, but it didn't mean that they didn't have any wishes. It's just that their behaviour would be based on who they were before their death and they couldn't change that.

But she was proven wrong this time around. She was slowly changing to another version of herself. She could feel some emotions diminish as others were heightened. She didn't like the feeling and since what she was becoming was technically herself, her core as a servant wasn't rejecting the effects. She didn't know if the heroic spirit that was Medea, although barely heroic considering her reputation, was changing as well.

She was terrified because she was becoming something she didn't know, but she couldn't reject as well. As a magus from the Age Of Gods, she knew of some aspect of magic that could affect one's soul, but it also didn't work.

She had finally found something worth living here, more than three thousand years after her death. She had met him. But her feelings were shifting and changing, as the time passed, her emotions for him were disappearing. She was losing her chance before he even noticed her feelings, and to herself to top it all.

She had to find a way to stop this, and she knew how. This all started because she contracted him. The reason why she was able to access memories that weren't hers to begin with was his fault. Because of the fact that she had to connect to another dimension, she couldn't see his memories, but she could see the memories of his Medea related to him, and that was the reason of her confusion and denial.

The Medea that she saw in her dreams were everything she wanted to be. In her dream she could feel herself be much stronger that she ever had been in her life, she had friends, she loved genuinely and she was free of the gods.

If it wasn't for the fact that the one that had all of this was herself, she would have probably felt jealous. Instead she wanted to vent on the reason why she could see this in her sleep. But she also knew how important he was to her plans, and also how dangerous he could become.

She sighed as she tried to remember who she was in this dimension to fight against the shift in personality she was enduring. She would have to finish as fast as possible, otherwise it could become terrible.

Shirou woke up late this morning. He sighed as he watched the command spells on his hand. Although he retained the same number of command spells, he knew something was missing. Ever since Archer unlocked his magic circuits, he could somehow feel a link between him and his servant. And even if Alexander's one was really faint, he could still feel it and now that link was missing, it was stolen.

He dressed up before getting down to the living room. Yesterday, Rin and Archer left the Emiya residence and returned to Rin's mansion. He still had to ask why Sakura was so happy by this development by he'd ask later.

Apparently due to Archer's scouting, they knew that Caster didn't make any move yesterday night even when it was her turn to play. They didn't see Berserker and that strange white-haired girl for awhile so apparently everyone was waiting to see what Caster would do. According to Archer, it was probable that at least the master of Lancer knew of what happened between Caster and them, and that Alexander was an extra servant.

Things were going well for them. Alexander destroyed most of the enemies that were against them, and put an end to the threat that was the weird looking shadow. But now everything could happen, it was as if they were back to the beginning.

Shirou didn't think that Saber was weak, on the contrary, on the few occasion he had seen her fight, she mesmerized him and he felt respect for her strength and behaviour, yet he also knew that were Alexander and Saber to clash, Saber would surely loose.

He also knew that Berserker wasn't strong enough against Alexander, yet no one else could take down Berserker.

For Shirou who was used to head on without thinking of the consequences, it was a first for him to think of what could happen in the future. Unfortunately, it wasn't looking too good.

Alexander didn't sleep this night. He was assigned to watch the front door of the Temple, replacing the place of Assassin who died by the hands of the servant of Zouken. He clearly didn't sign up for this kind of task, but he had to do it anyway. He felt multiple times Archer's and what seemed to be Lancer's eyes on him, but he decided to let him do whatever he wanted, after all, he was assigned to guard the door only.

Considering his new Master, he was feeling extremely conflicted, although he didn't mind showing his past that much, the problem was the person that received the memories. It wasn't the person he knew, that he was sure, yet it could only be her at the same time. As much as he tried to tell himself that she was an enemy that he had to vanquish, and that she wasn't the same upright and curious woman he had met, but in the end he couldn't bring himself to completely believe so.

He could have escaped her numerous time right now. Although the command seals were powerful, they could hardly tie him down. She would have to use at least two command seals to order him, and if it wasn't following the code of chivalry, then she would have to use the three, ordering him once before his blade would pierce her neck.

Alas he decided to stay, he needed to know who this Medea was. What exactly happened to her for her to become like this. While she was dreaming of his memories, he was the same, except the fact that he had less time since he had to guard the door.

Tonight, things would move again. Caster had everything in hand to win, and everyone in the War was sure of it, and they wouldn't let her do as she pleased. The problem was that everyone's aim in this bloodbath was also not going to let them do as they pleased.
