Other Dimension's Knight

Chapter 33 - XXXIII: Suicidal Tactics

Rin and Archer arrived in front of the Church, ready to engage Caster and her Master.

Archer looked at Rin before sighing. " Rin, I must ask you one more time"

" What ? You're still worried ? I'll take on Caster, after all if you get too close, she might use her weird looking dagger to steal you aswell. So in that regard, you have to take care of her master. " said Rin.

" I'm fine with taking out that man, but .... do you understand that you're no match for Caster as a magus ? " said Archer, seemingly worried about Rin's plan.

" Don't worry, if I didn't have a chance to do that, I wouldn't have said it anyway. I have a couple of trump cards aswell. You can leave her to me Archer. " said Rin, smiling confidently.

" *sigh* I get it, I'll trust you in that regard. " answered Archer.

~At night in the Emiya Residence~

Shirou stopped pretending to be asleep, he stood up, his wound already closed. Although he still felt pain when doing wide mouvements, it wasn't that problematic. He checked that Saber was sleeping in the room next to him, before sneakily making his way downstairs. He took a tube of metal that would serve as his weapon for the fight, put on his shoes and was ready to depart towards the Church.

The moment he tried to open the front door without making too much noise, Saber appeared behind him.

" Shirou, what are you doing ? " said Saber, looking really not pleased with Shirou's action.

Shirou winced under Saber's vindicative tone and didn't take his hand away from the door's handle.

" I .... I can't let those things happen while I sit here doing nothing ! I'm going to help them ! " said Shirou as he continued to open the door.

" I can't let that happen. You're injured and it is my duty to protect you and force you to stay here. " said Saber, not letting Shirou argue.

" No ! I'm already healed and I can fight. " shouted Shirou, which surprised Saber who ever so slightly widened her eyes.

" I'm sorry but this isn't a discussion, plus I'm not sure that Rin and Archer really needs your help. " said Saber, words that were out of her character but she felt she needed to tell him the brutal truth. The help they would have needed was her and not her master, alas she couldn't go that far as she felt that it would be too cruel for him to hear these words, and as his servant she couldn't act this way.

Shirou gritted his teeth at Saber's words, and the resentment he acc.u.mulated over the weeks was focused on Saber as the only one he could vent on.

" Who are you to say that to me ! As long as I'm not dead, I should be able to help them ! " shouted even louder Shirou, while looking at Saber full of hate, which startled the servant, as she was quite surprised at Shirou's resentment towards her. But unfortunately for the red-haired magus, Saber stood still and didn't want Shirou to put himself in meaningless danger once again, so she didn't answer, but she clearly didn't agree with him.

At the moment Shirou was ready to use a command spell on Saber to go to the church, Sakura descended, awaken by Shirou's shouts in the middle of the night.

" Senpai, what is happening ? " said Sakura on the stairs, looking still sleepy.

Seeing his junior, Shirou's face softened but still contained some rage towards Saber for not letting him help them.

" Nothing Sakura, you should go to sleep. I... just have something to do quickly. "

" No, you do not. " interrupted firmly Saber, her eyes narrowed and fixed on Shirou.

Shirou was in a dilemna, he couldn't reveal the command spells to Sakura, but he couldn't get past Saber without using them, in the end he decided to not endanger his junior and reluctantly closed the door behind him as he stepped inside the house once again. ( A/N: He knows Sakura is a mage, but thinks she doesn't know about the war and only participated due to her brother, since Alexander said that she was Rider's master, but Shinji was the one controlling the servant, couple that with the fact that she was abused and exploited in the Matou family, you get that Shirou thinks she is clueless about the war, or knows very little. )

Sakura meanwhile, was very confused about the exchange between Saber and Shirou, but contrary to Shirou's thoughts, she was far from clueless and was able to deduce quite the amount of things from what she's seen so far. In the end she was just relieved her dear senpai wouldn't go fight again tonight.

~In the church~

" So ? It seems like you're having a hard time taking control of Alexander. " said Rin with a mocking grin.

" Little girl... why did you come here, don't tell me you thought you could defeat me ? " said Caster, not taking the bait.

" Well, this time you didn't take an hostage so I can beat you all I want. " said Rin.

" Did you really think you could beat me in magic little girl ? " said Caster with a smirk on her face that was hidden by her hood.

" Well considering you don't have Alexander under your control and we know Professor Kuzuki's capabilities, it seems pretty simple to me. " said rin to taunt Caster.

Rin took out 5 gems from her pouch as she prepared plentily for the battle, while Caster simply smirked and summoned more than 5 dark balls of magic around her, ready to attack at her will.

" How cute. You think you have a chance against me in a one-on-one ? " said Caster as the balls transformed into circles ready to fire in the air.

Rin simply grinned and threw numerous gems in the air, which Caster answered by firing magic beams to destroy them before they could detonate.

At the same time, Kuzuki prepared himself to fight, like Archer. Rin threw a blue gem which generated a huge amount of light. Blinded by the gem, Caster's shoulder was hit by rin's gandr, but didn't do too much damage as even blinded, Caster was able to sense the mana coming towards her. But she also managed to attack Rin faster than Archer could react to since she conjured more circles behind her.

Unfortunately for Caster, she didn't have time to react as she sensed Alexander using an enormous amount of mana behind her to free himself from his bindings at the same moment before appearing with his insane speed in front of her, and kicked her in the gut. Due to the force of Alexander's blow, she crashed down in the Church, but stood up with no scratch on herself, only pure rage towards Alexander.

Kuzuki at the same time, who originally wanted to dash towards Rin to kill her, decided to not do so as he recognized the situation became dangerous for them. Caster didn't waste any time, her master and herself were envelopped in purple mist as they disappeared before Alexander was able to kill Kuzuki.

Alexander clicked his tongue when he saw that he wasn't able to even touch him before he disappeared. At the same moment, he turned around to see Rin falling into Archer's arm as blood flowed from her like a fountain. She was hit by Caster's rays without being able to defend. She had a huge hole in her stomach and was completely unconscious, at death's door.

Rin's plan was obviously based on the fact that Alexander would be able to free himself at any moment and just needed distraction, it was a huge gamble but she knew it was doable the moment she made eye contact with Alexander.

As remarkable as the plan was, she once again underestimated the might of a servant, because if Caster was serious from the beginning, she wouldn't even have the time to pull off these sort of tactics. In the end, Archer traced a perticular looking scepter and the gaping hole Rin had disappeared, although she was still very weak as she had lost a lot of blood, but Archer suceeded in saving her life.
