Reborn Into Pokémon With An Odd System

Chapter 13 - Pokémon Camp (PT-4)

Ash nodded and said goodbye as they headed to their room, behind him, he heard the girls talking and almost tripped after hearing them agreeing to something that their 'Alpha' had said: "Wow not only is he cute but he plays hard to get, now I like him even more."

Max was left with his mouth wide open as he thought "What the hell are the parents teaching their kids in this world."

When they arrived at their room Max found a pair of twins talking, he was about to greet them until he found his and Ash's blankets on the floor.

He walked towards them and stared at them "What do you think that you are doing, why are our things on the floor?"

The two kids looked at him with a big grin and shrugged "We are taking the top bunks, if you don't like them then go and find another room.

Max looked at them and for what seemed to be the 100th time that day sighed and thought "Why do I have such bad luck." He shook his head and pointed at the blankets that were on the floor "Get your stuff out of there and put those blankets back on our bed, we were here before you."

The two twins laughed and looked at Max "Make us"

He put on a devilish smile and nodded as he slowly walked closer to them "Sure it'll be my p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e."

Max made his way towards where his backpack was and took out 2 shirts, he began to wrap them around both his hands until his knuckles were covered. The reason behind doing this was that he didn't want to leave any bruises on the kids' bodies, he had already gotten in a small incident and if he managed to get into another he had a feeling that it wasn't going to turn out well.

After his preparations were done he resumed his walk towards the twins. They looked at his hands and began laughing even louder "Are we supposed to be scared of that, don't tell me that you think you are a Hitmonchan haha."

Max gave a smile and charged at the boy that was laughing, before either of them could do anything Max's uppercut connected to the kid's gut. As soon as it did the boy's body bent over as it molded into the shape of his punch. Saliva was sent out flying from the kid's mouth, he was left kneeling in the ground as he tried to breathe."

Satisfied with his punch Max nodded and sighed "Man there is nothing better than hearing someone get the wind knocked out of him."

He looked at the other brother and yawned "Hey you were the one who said, "Make me" weren't you?"

The kid looked at Max in horror, his smile long gone, he quickly began to shake his head "n...no…..noooo that…. That was my bro…...brother."

Max nodded and then turned around "Ash do you remember which one said that?"

The young spiky-haired kid looked at him with a frightened expression as he raised his trembling hand and pointed at the kid who had denied it."

Max turned around and gave a smile as he grabbed the kid by the collar, picked him up, and pushed him into the wall "Is this enough to make you? If not then I can continue."

The kid quickly nodded but as soon as he heard the second part he quickly shook his head "We'll do it, we'll do it."

Max gave him a short nod and dropped him "Good I'm glad that's settled, my friend and I will go out and talk for a bit, meanwhile I want you and your brother to put our things where they belong. Oh and don't even think of moving into another room, you two will take the bottom bunks."

The frightened kid quickly nodded, Max turned around and began to take off the shirts that he had wrapped around his hands. From his backpack, he took out a water bottle and threw it at the twin that was standing in silence "Give that to your brother once he gets his breath back."

Max yawned again and garbed Ash's arm "Let's go you and me gotta talk"

When they were about to walk past the door he stopped and turned around "I nearly forgot to introduce ourselves I'm Max, and this is my friend Ash."

The kid nodded "I'm Jake and the one on the floor is Jack."

Max gave them a smile "It's nice to meet you, I know that we started on the wrong foot but it's good to learn from one's mistakes. I look forward to being roommates."

Then he left the room while dragging Ash, he found a place to sit on some rocks. He turned and looked at Ash "Do you think that I did the wrong thing?"

The boy brought his head down and nodded "My mother said that things can't be solved with violence."

Max smiled "Yeah that's definitely one way to look at things, but I have my own way. Tell me what would have happened if we let them get away with what they were doing."

Ash thought about it and shrugged "Then nothing would have happened, we could also just tell the professor though."

Max nodded "Right nothing would have happened, they would continue being like that until someone else made them realize that they were making a mistake by acting like that later on. That someone else wouldn't necessarily go easy on them like I did. If we would have gone to the professor then all we would have done is made them angry at us and later on, they would try to get revenge. Now what I did was violent but it also showed them that there are always consequences for their actions. I also let them know that I wanted to be their friends as long as they changed."

Ash listened to him and began scratching his head, Max gave a small laugh and ruffled Ash's hair "Don't worry about it, just make sure that you try to understand another person's point of view before you judge them. I saw how afraid you were of me earlier now that you know what I was trying to do, do you still feel the same way?"

Ash shook his head "No I'm not scared of you anymore."

Max smiled "That's good, I'm not asking you to be like me. You have your own way of doing things that others like, I just want you to try to understand that I'm doing what I think is right."

The young boy nodded but showed some curiosity on his face, he turned around and looked at Max "Did you also try to help out the fat kid earlier?"

Max laughed nervously as he began to scratch his head "That just kinda happened, he got on my nerves."

As soon as Ash heard him he burst in laughter, "I remember that when we were talking earlier you said that I didn't see you in town because you were shy, now that I know you better I feel like the real reason is that if you were around other kids you would beat them all up haha."

Max sighed and thought "You're not far from the truth." He gave a smile and signaled Ash to follow him "Let's go see how our friends the twins are doing, they should have had enough time to finish."

Ash nodded and followed, when they got back he found that all the beds were made and that his things were neatly placed in his bed. The twins were sitting on the bottom bunks talking to each other, as soon as they saw Max they stood up.

He waved and smiled at them "don't worry it's fine, I look forward to becoming friends with both of you."

They returned his smile with their own and nodded. The rest of the day they talked about their families and experiences, then they went to eat and sat on the same table. The first day the professors had given all of the kids the whole day so that they could get to know one another. After eating they spent the rest of the day playing games that Max would bring out of his storage and pretend that he had gotten it out of his backpack.

At around 10 they were told that the lights were going to be turned off and that they should go to sleep so they did. Before he dozed off he heard the twins say "Guys sorry for what we did earlier, we hope that we can become close friends in the future."

Max yawned and nodded even if they couldn't see him "Don't worry about that, to me you guys are already friends just don't make another mistake like that or I'll have to get a little more serious"
