Max arrived at the hotel and went to the room, he found Lance sitting on the couch watching TV. When the blue-haired servant heard the door open he glanced at Max and looked around "Where's Miss Clingy?"

Max sighed and sat down next to Lance, "I went to the Pokémon Center and called home to let them know that I was okay. I introduced Serenity to them as well to let her have some interactions with normal people and boy did she manage to open up. Anyway, at the end of the call, my father said that they had to go because mom had a doctor's appointment. She said that everything was fine, but I could tell that she was nervous, both of them were. Then she came up with the worst lie that she could have said. She told me that it was an appointment to deliver some herbs that the doc wanted, man how many times have I delivered those herbs with her? She never had to make any appointments."

Lance nodded "Okay that is kind of odd since your mother isn't someone who likes to lie, unlike a brat I know. So I get the call and everything but what does that have to do with Serenity?"

He scratched his head and sighed, "I might have sent her home to listen in on what's going on."

The servant gave himself a facepalm and shook his head "Brat you do realize that when you say that out loud it's really weird right? You sent a girl to sneak in and listen to your mother's appointment"

Max nodded "Kinda, I thought it over while I was walking but I still don't regret it. Try to remember the few times that the mother has lied and tell me what they have in common."

Lance looked up at the ceiling and thought for a bit, then he sighed and looked at Max, "They were all to make sure that you were happy."

Max took a deep breath and nodded "Yeah, now think about this. What would happen if she did end up being sick and she hid it from me so that I could continue on my journey? That's not a risk that I'm willing to take. It's just a small precaution, hopefully, it isn't something bad. I already have my suspicion of what it is but it never hurts to make sure."

Lance smiled and nodded "If they do end up having another brat I'm going to feel pity for your parents. You're a handful all by yourself."

Max hit him and together they sat on the sofa as Lancer watched TV and Max continued coding.

When it was time to return the key, he and Lance packed all their things and were ready to get out. Max entered Serenity's room but remembered that she only had the change of clothes that she currently had on. He sighed and thought "I have to let her buy some more clothing when she gets back.

They went down and returned the key to the receptionist that they had seen earlier that morning and together they headed to the forest. Once they were there Max opened up his pokédex and looked at the time, "Serenity still has an hour left. She probably already learned what's going on so I'll wait for her in the cave, do you want to come with?"

Lance shook his head "Nah it's 6 pm meaning that I still have about 2 hours worth of sunlight, now that we have the pokéballs I'll look around and see if I can find any of the pokémon that we need. That way we can be a little ahead of schedule and get some me-time hehe."

Max nodded "Yeah that sounds good, how many pokéballs were you able to get?"

Lance shook his head "With the 5 grand I was only able to get 25 of them. Each cost 200 dollars however since I got them in bulk the Pokémon Center gave me an extra two."

The servant opened up the bag that he had been carrying and showed them. Max nodded and brought out 10k and handed it to Lance. "I know where I can find some Spearows back in Pallet, you go and buy some more pokéballs and focus on Pidgeot's evolutionary tree."

Lance nodded and brought out his spear and marked a large X on a nearby tree, "Alright, let's meet back here."

Max gave him a thumbs up and teleported to the cave. At first, there was no one there but then suddenly he felt someone hug him from behind. When he turned around he was greeted by the smiling face of the purple-haired servant.

After a few seconds, she finally let him go and he asked "So what was the appointment about? Is she okay?"

Serenity nodded rapidly "She's fine, the thing that she was hiding was that she was pregnant. You're about to be an older brother."

Max sat on a rock and took a deep breath "Thank god she's okay. Did they say if it was going to be a little brother or sister?"

She shook her head "No, according to the doctor she's only been pregnant for 2 months they have to wait till the 3rd month to be sure."

He nodded and scratched his head, "I'm going to be an older brother hehe, never thought of how it might feel to have a sibling. Hopefully we'll be closer than I was with the other kids from the orphanage, I won't let anything separate us."

Serenity smiled and sat next to him, "I'm sure you'll be an excellent older brother."

Max looked at her and nodded "Thanks. Well now that we are sure that she's okay let's get back to business". He handed her 6 pokéballs and smiled, "Just wait 5 days and you can catch any of the pokemon that you like, for now, the thing that we have to do is catch some birds."

She looked at him confused and before she could say anything Max grabbed her hand and teleported to the spot where Ash had thrown the rock at the Spearow. After looking around for a few minutes they found a flock of about 40 Spearows standing on tree branches.

Max smiled "Bingo", he brought out Gyarados and pointed above the two trees where the pokemon were at and yelled "Use Whirlpool ''.

The storm dragon quickly opened its mouth and shot an electrified Whirlpool above the tree. It kept its shape for a few seconds but then it began to fall apart and splash all over the trees and the pokémon. One by one the electrified Spearows began falling from the tree and into the ground.

He smiled at Serenity and passed her 10 pokéballs "You can practice your throws haha, try to get the ones that you see are the biggest."

She nodded and began throwing the pokéballs at the Spearows. When Max tried to catch his 4th Spearow his pokéball began to shine in a bright light and then it disappeared. He gave himself a facepalm and cursed "That's right, how could I have forgotten that when I have more than 6 pokémon with me any new ones that I catch go to the professor."

He brought out his pokédex and began to inspect it "I wonder if I could catch them if you weren't present." He sent it to his storage and caught another Spearow. This time the pokéball stayed in his hand without disappearing. "Now for the moment of truth." He brought out the pokédex and waited expecting for something to happen but nothing did. "Looks that's as long as you aren't with me when I catch them then it doesn't matter how many I catch."

Max laughed and put it away again, then he captured the remaining 6 pokémon. When they had finished he called back Gyarados and together he and Serenity teleported back to the tree that Lance had marked.

They began to set up camp and after 3 hours, Lancer appeared with a wide smile in his face. He looked at Max and tossed him a bag. When he opened it he found what seemed to be 54 pokéballs. He gave the servant a questioning look.

Lance gave him a thumbs up "I found a flock of Pidgeys, I wasn't able to catch all of them but I still managed to get 15 of them."

Max nodded and passed him the food that he had made earlier "That's great, for now, we are good on transportation. Serenity and I caught 20 Spearows and with the 15 Pidgeys that you got that should be enough for now. If we get anymore then we'll just be wasting money on food. I'll be training them while you go and look for a good spot to build. Serenity you on the other hand can take a break, ever since you were summoned I've had you working."

He brought out 2k and handed it to her "Use this money to get some clothes if you need more money than just let me know."

She put the money away and nodded "Thanks, Max."

The blue-haired servant looked at him with sparkling eyes "What about me, don't I get some?"

Max laughed and shook his head "I gave you money yesterday and that's all I'll give in a while. You have a job to do anyway. As soon as we have a location we can purchase the land and start building. We can start working as soon as we have a place to store the goods so we can start working even before the full construction is finished.

"I'll look for some construction companies and get some bids on the design, which brings me to another point. Serenity, you used to be an assassin so I imagine that you know how to read blueprints and have some ideas for designs right? After 2 days off can you make some plans so that we can show them to the construction people."

She smiled and nodded "Right away Max. I'll make sure to make it the most secure place in this part of the world."

Max laughed and gave her a small nod "We might have to 'borrow' some more money from the people that you got info on in a little bit. I'm sure that we can get everything started but I have some other plans to ensure our success and for that I'm going to need some more cash."

Lance gave him an evil smile "Count me in hehe, send me to Viridian City right now and I'll get it for you."

Max shook his head "No, I'll have Serenity do the job."

The blue-haired servant looked at him, obviously disappointed, "Why not me?"

He looked at Lance and smiled "First of all, remember that you are going to be the future face of a multi-billion company. I can't risk you getting recognized or tied in with these blackmails. And secondly but most importantly, I remember your comment at the cave about taking a cut of the money hehe."

Lance looked at Max and mumbled "Hmph I kn*w I sh*uld h**e ke*pt t*at to myse*f.

Max burst in laughter "What was that?"

The red-eyed servant shook his head and laid down on his sleeping bag "Nothing"

Both him and Serenity looked at the pouting servant and shook their heads. They looked up at the stars for a while and then went to their separate sleeping bags.

"Good night"
