Reborn Into Pokémon With An Odd System

Sup guys, I've had a busy week so I haven't been able to update as often as I would want. Finals are coming and I need to focus on that for now. I wrote this chapter quickly so let me know if you feel like it's too rushed, if you do I will delete it and edit it later when I have time. Have a nice day and hope you enjoy it :-)

The next morning he woke up and found that Lance was no longer there. Max looked at the pokédex and saw that it was 7 am. He stretched and yawned and found Serenity sitting down and looking at him with a smile on her face. "Good morning Max"

He stood up and nodded "Morning Serenity, have you eaten anything yet?"

She shook her head and he got up and began cooking. They began to eat together and he pointed at Lance's empty sleeping bag "Did you see when he left."

The purple-haired assassin nodded "Yeah I was woken up when he stood up. He said that he was going to get an early start so that he could find the place and take a good break."

Max smiled and continued eating, once they were done he stood up and looked at all the pokéballs and sighed "Today is going to be one busy day."

Serenity giggled "Yeah sure is but I'm sure that you will be able to handle it. If you want I could also help though."

He shook his head "No you enjoy yourself today, do you want me to teleport you to the alley, or do you want to walk there?"

She smiled and stood up "I'll walk, it's been a while since I've taken a simple walk just because I wanted to. And we are close to the city so it won't be much trouble either way."

Max nodded "Alright then, I'll be moving deeper into the forest to train, I'll see you back here around sundown. She nodded and both of them put the things away in his storage and then he teleported away.

Once he was far enough from the city he brought out 5 Spearows and 5 Pidgeys "Sup guys, it's nice to meet ya, from now on we are family okay. I'll give you guys everything that you need and in return, you'll help me deliver things to where they are supposed to go does that sound good to you guys?"

"PIDGEOTTO, PIDGEOTTO"

"SPEAROW, SPEAROW"

Max smiled and gave each a pat on the head "That's good, welcome to the team".

He brought out 10 necklaces that had some weights attached to them. It was an extra 15 pounds which was a little less than the average weight of a watermelon, after that he sent them to fly around him in circles within a 12 feet radius . He told them to keep flying around and around until they were tired. After about an hour and a half, they were all down.

What Max was doing was trying to find a group leader. In the future, once they got Pokémon-Express going there was going to be a large amount of Pokémon and they would be hard to manage. The bird Pokémon that he was looking at were used to flocks and they would feel better when they had a leader.

He was happy to see that there was a good bird for the leader position. The first one to go down was a Pidgeotto and it seemed to be depressed that it was the first one to go down and it had its head lowered. The one who lasted the most was a Spearow and it noticed the depressed expression of the Pidgeotto. It walked towards the sad pokémon and patted it in the back with his wing. Then they seemed to have a conversation between each other and then the Pidgeotto seemed to feel better.

Max smiled and brought out some pokémon food and fed them "Nice job all of you."

He walked towards the one who had lasted the most and brought out a golden colored Vest. He had made his mother make a few with the excuse that he wanted to dress his bird pokémon if he ever got one. He still remembered that weird look his mother gave him when she heard what he had said, luckily she simply nodded and didn't ask any questions, "Well this will do for now I'll get you guys your uniforms soon. But for now, you are the group leader of these 9 okay."

"SPEAROW, SPEAROW"

The bird pokémon began to nuzzle its beak on Max's hand. He smiled and stood up "Hurry up and eat up, there are still 3 groups that I have to check out."

After they finished eating Max did the same test again and looked at the interaction between the groups, he chose the ones that seemed to be friendlier than the others. After about 6 hours all 4 leaders were chosen and clothed with the handmade vests. He smiled and gave the last leader a thumbs up and brought out all the Spearows and Pidgeottos.

They were all surprised when they found themselves surrounded by Pokémon that weren't part of their assigned groups. Some began to communicate with their old flock members. After giving them a minute to get acquainted with each other Max pointed at the 4 birds with different colored vests on and smiled "There will be plenty of time to get to know everyone better, for now, I need all of you guys to go to your group leader."

Within seconds all the birds, except the group leaders who were spread out, flew up. When they all came down Max had three groups of 10 birds and a group of 5. He was surprised at how quickly they had rearranged themselves, he gave them a small nod and brought out Zweilous.

The hairy blue pokémon nearly knocked him over when it began nuzzling his heads on Max's legs. He crouched and patted both of the heads "Hey, sorry that we haven't seen each other as much as we usually did but I've been busy these days."

Zweilous nodded but began spinning around excitedly, Max smiled and got hold of him before the pokémon ran off, "Easy, these are our new friends, and just like you realized there are a lot of them and they need your help. I need you to use Double Team and then shoot Dark Pulses at them while they fly. Do you think that you can handle that?"

"ZWEILOUS, ZWEILOUS"

The blue hairy Pokémon stood up on his hind legs and immediately used Double Team surrounding the group of birds with 10 copies. Max smiled and brought out the weighted necklace, at the moment he only had 15 and handed them out. "So, this is a small exercise, I'm going to need you to fly around trying to avoid the attacks. This exercise will help you develop strength, stamina, and improve your reflexes."

"SPEAROW, SPEAROW"

"PIDGEOTTO, PIDGEOTTO"

Two groups walked forward and put on the necklace, their group leaders were the Spearow with the gold vest, and the other was the leader of the group of 5 Pidgeottos, which wore a green vest. After they were ready the groups began to fly up and form group cl.u.s.ters in the air.

Max looked at Zweilous with curiosity, he knew that the pokémon had an uncanny sense of hearing and smell but he was still curious how well it would fare shooting flying pokémon. He patted the hairy Pokémon's heads "They're ready, you can start whenever you want."

The two heads of Zweilous nodded and they looked up and opened their mouths releasing two wavy rays of dark light. The illusionary copies also did the same and made it look like there was a party with 22 rays of light that shot into the sky appearing and disappearing over and over again.

In the air the bird pokémon did their best to dodge, many were hit but since the copies were just an illusion they didn't receive any damage. The ones who were hit by the real Zweilous, however, began falling.

Max was still stunned by the accuracy of Zweilous, he wondered if the pokémon could somehow hear the flaps of the wings of the pokémon. He shook his head and reminded himself to remain focused, he walked to the fallen pokémon and began healing them.

Once they felt better the pokémon flew back up and joined their group. After about 40 minutes the groups that had the weighted necklace crashed landed on the ground breathing hard.

Max decided to call a time out since he could see that Zweilous was getting exhausted. He brought out some pokémon and fed them. After they were rested the exercise continued for another 6 hours until the sun had begun to set. He called the pokémon back in and teleported back to the marked tree.

He found Serenity leaning on the tree with some shopping bags, she was wearing a new blue dress. Max smiled and walked closer to her "So how was it, did you have fun?"

Serenity nodded and returned his smile "Yes it was really fun to get to see all the new things that this world has to offer. After looking around I decided to buy some things and then I just walked around most of the time and listened to people talk about current events."

Max looked at her and laughed "It's your day off, why would you spend your time listening to other people's conversations haha."

She shrugged and began showing him the clothes that she bought. "I didn't have much to do, sucks when you're alone. Maybe next time you can go with me and we can go somewhere."

He gave her a mischievous smile "Wow, is that your way of asking me out haha."

Serenity began to blush slightly and nodded "Yeah I guess it is."

Max sighed, grabbed her hand and looked into her purple eyes "Listen, I would feel honored if a girl like you actually fell in love with me, however, I'm worried that the only reason that you care about me like this is because I removed your poison. Think about it carefully and take your time to process all this, ask yourself if what you feel for me is real or just some sort of feeling that you have to pay me back. After you figure that out let me know and we can think about it, but know that you wouldn't be the only girl in my life."

She looked back into his eyes and nodded "Remember when I told you my story, the part of me that killed people after getting into a 'relationship' with them so that I could feel something? Well every time I'm with you I feel as if time slows down, I feel my blood rush through my body, and I feel like nothing that you ask me to do is impossible. I don't know if it's love or not but I will wait and analyze it. As for the other girls, Lance already told me about your goal and the reasoning behind it"

He smiled at her and sighed "Thanks for understanding, It's just that since you haven't been able to be in a serious relationship due to your poison and the only people that you've talked to after getting better is me and that devil, I'm just afraid of taking advantage of you. Which now that I say out loud I feel like that's what I'm doing with the other girls but they haven't been imprisoned like you have. Anyway if you interact with other people and still feel the same way about me then I would be happy to have you. Also let me make myself clear when I say interact I don't mean anything s.e.x.u.a.l okay, I don't want you to be sleeping with others just so that you can compare it to how you feel about me, that's another thing you need to learn, value your body."

She looked at him and laughed "Don't worry I learned that when we had the talk in the cave."

He nodded and looked up at the sky "Now as for how this whole conversation started, I might be able to free two or three hours and go with you shopping or something." He looked closer at what she had bought and found that one of the bags contained a set of curved knives, he looked at her and shook his head "Yeah we definitely have to go shopping together otherwise you might buy something even crazier haha."

After about an hour the blue-haired servant returned eating a corndog. Lance brought out a map and pointed at it "This is the best place to build HQ."

Max looked closely at the map and found that Lance's finger was near the edge of the forest near MT. Moon. He gave him a nod "Good work Lance leave the rest to me, tomorrow I'll be going out with Serenity for a while then I'll investigate more about what we need to do. Oh and speaking of that we should think of contacting a pokémon food company, in the future, we will need a serious amount of food and it wouldn't hurt to make a deal and get it taken care of early on."

Lance nodded and laid down but before he pretended to fall asleep he said "Good luck on your date you two, I was wondering when that would happen hehe. Just remember Max, you're still 10 years old so don't do anything too crazy."

Max grabbed a pinecone that was nearby and threw it at the servant "Shut up Lance, just because you can't control yourself doesn't mean that everyone else is the same."

After he and Serenity ate they called it a day and fell asleep.
