Reborn Into Pokémon With An Odd System

Max is about to jump in but Lancer grabbed him by the back of the collar of his shirt "Take it easy brat, you're forgetting one little thing."

He looked at the servant confused "What?"

Lance sighs and flicks his finger hitting Max's forehead "You're not supposed to show who you are idiot."

Max gave an embarrassed laugh and brought out a cloak and a cloth mask that covered the bottom of his face. Meanwhile, Lance made himself invisible and patted Max's shoulder "You're on your own so make sure to not make any mistakes alright.

He nodded and began to charge at the Houndour, at the moment it was the only thing that would put much of an obstacle since he knew that he could easily beat any other human since he had immunity to all attacks except physical ones. He really resented the god for not completely granting his wish but something was better than nothing. With his ability, he was able to help Serenity, and even if he was still angry there was really nothing he could do about it so he decided to let it slide.

While he was charging at the Doberman like pokémon, it began to sniff the air and discovered that there was someone else in the alley. It quickly turned around and spotted Max who was getting closer and closer.

It growled and ran towards him with jaws wide open. Max pivoted to the left side, and the Houndour flew right past him surprised by the sudden move that the person in front of him had done. It began to think of its next move and prepared to use Flamethrower but then it felt something hit the back of his head and blacked out.

Max smiled and looked at the knocked out dog pokémon "Sorry buddy but if we compare your speed with Scizor's then unfortunately you are barely moving."

He turned around and was surprised to see two men rolling around on the ground while a blond woman yelled and cried. Since the thief's advantage of having a Pokémon threatening them was gone, the husband/boyfriend or whatever he was began to fight with the thief. Unfortunately, he wasn't too good and simply ended up rolling together like a bunch of elementary kids.

Max sighed and walked at a slower place as he thought "Might as well let the man get some experience besides who knows at the moment he might be racking in a bunch of points since he protected her the whole time.

When he arrived next to them the woman began to beg him to help and he gave her a small nod and kicked the thief, who was on top of the man, right on the face. Since he added some extra power the thief was instantly knocked out and his body went limp.

The man who was still under the thief pushed the body away and gasped for air and after a bit, he stood up and quickly walked over to the woman and hugged her while saying "It's okay now, don't worry."

After a minute they turned and looked at Max who they knew had saved him. The woman pointed at the limp body of the man and asked "Is he dead?"

Max shook his head and both the man and woman let out a relieved breath. He smiled and tried to make his voice as deep as he could "Can I ask you for something."

The couple quickly nodded "Could both of you please not tell the police about this?"

They looked at him with troubled faces but the man sighed and nodded "If that is what you want then okay, you did save our lives and I won't forget that. My name is Carl Wilson, I work for the library that is near here if you ever need anything just go there and I'll do whatever I can."

Max nodded and accompanied the couple until they reached the Houndour and picked it up. He wished them luck and returned to where the unconscious man laid. He sighed and lowered the body of the dog pokémon and looked at the unconscious man.

"So what are you going to do with him?"

Max grabbed the man's head and twisted it breaking his neck "If I hadn't kicked him when I did the man he was choking would have died so the only thing I can do is return the favor."

He stored the body and picked up Houndour again. "Lance, remember to get me the information on the man's phone, when you're done I'll be waiting in our camping site."

"Don't worry kid, you know that you can count on me."

Max nodded and teleported next to the marked tree with the pokémon in his arms. He sighed, lowered it on the ground, and wrapped it in a blanket. He then brought out the body of the thief and began looking around his body for anything valuable.

He ended up finding a wallet and 3 pokéballs, he opened up the wallet and found 80 dollars and took them. Since there wasn't anything else that was valuable he stored the body again, he would hand it to Lance so that he could burn it later.

Since that was done he healed the knocked out pokémon. It opened its eyes and looked around confused at its surroundings and then it looked at Max with anger. He raised his hand in the air and shook his head "Don't look at me like that, I'm not the one who was doing something bad. There is a saying that I've heard before and it stuck with me, it was 'there are no bad Pokémon, just bad masters'."

The Houndour's angry face calmed a bit but it was still on guard. Max sighed and sat on the ground "Look, I want to give you a chance at a good life, there is a really important person for me and I'm sure that she will love you. If I'm honest we are no saints either and are likely to commit some sort of crime, but I want you to know that if we do then it's to help other people."

The pokémon looked straight at him trying to see if Max was lying but after not feeling anything it sat down and looked away from Max "HOUNDOUR, HOUNDOUR".

Max was pretty sure what it meant but wanted to make sure "Is that a yes on joining us?"

The dog pokémon nodded several times and then laid down on top of the blanket and closed his eyes.

Max smiled and shook his head, then he remembered about the other pokéballs "Hey Houndour, do you think that you can explain the situation to your other pokémon partners?"

The dog pokémon opened its eyes and then nodded. Max thanked him and brought out the pokéballs that he had put in his storage. When Houndour saw the pokéballs appear out of thin air it was left with its jaw open.

Max laughed and brought out 2 pokémon, the other seemed to be the pokéball from Houndour. When the 2 new pokémon materialized they started looking around and stopped when they saw their partner.

They began talking to each other while Max observed the brown bug type Pokémon that was about 5ft tall and had two mandibles on its head. Then his sight wandered off to a small 3ft high puddle of purple goo.

Halfway through their conversation the two pokémon turned around and looked at Max with anger as they prepared to charge. Before they could Houndour ran in front of them and they stopped, it said some other things that he would never understand and they calmed down.

After a bit, they walked over to Max and began talking at the same time.

"PINSIR, PINSIR, PINSIR"

"GRIMER, GRIMER"

Max looked at them and asked, "Does that mean that both of you are in?"

They nodded and Max smiled "Great, it'll be nice to work with you all in the future."

He returned them to their pokéball and put them away while thinking "What exactly am I going to do with them? They seem nice and all but I'm not really interested in them, maybe I can hand them out to some employees so that they can help with the security of our warehouses in the future."

He shook his head and sighed "Well I still have time for all that later, at the moment I have a ton of paperwork to do."

Max started filling it out and about a half-hour later Houndour walked over to him and laid down by his side as he looked at what Max was doing.

He smiled and continued on reading and filling things out which by now was getting him extremely bored. After another hour he had finally finished everything and put the paperwork away and yawned "Man I should probably get myself an assistant later in the future, I can already imagine all the paperwork I'm going to be required to do when everything gets going."

After an hour of staring at the sky, he heard Houndour stand up and start to growl. Max looked at the direction that the pokémon was looking and found that it was growling at something at the top of the tree branches.

He smiled and patted its head "Don't worry that's just one of my friends."

The pokémon stopped its growling but its body remained tense. Soon Lance began materializing himself sitting down on the tree branch as he had a pinecone on one of his hands "That's just great now I have someone else that can ruin my fun."

Max smiled and stood up "So did you manage to get me what I wanted?"

Lance nodded and brought out a flash drive "All the calls are there and I also have something extra that you might be interested in."

He looked at the servant with curiosity "What could that be?"

Lance gave him a mischievous smile and tossed him a camera. Max looked at it and then at the servant with a confused expression "Where did you get it?"

The servant jumped down to the ground and took the camera from Max "I bought it back when you told me to find dirt on the rich people. I have photos and videos that are pretty personal for them. Let me see where is the one that I want to show you, oh here it is."

He handed the camera back to Max with a video playing.

There was the man and a woman in what seemed to be his office. The man slowly got closer to the woman with a look of pure l.u.s.t "So what do you say, you could lose your job if you don't agree to it. I'll make sure that no one hires you no matter how much you beg."

The man kept getting closer to the red-haired woman, he reached out to touch her arm but she smacked his hand away, "Don't you dare touch me. I've been ignoring your stupid attempt of flirting but this is more than any woman can take. There is no way that I'll ever be with you, I prefer to die before that. Besides you are acting like this is a great job, open your freakin eyes this is a stupid food company you have no power."

With that, she slaps him and yells out "I quit this stupid job" and walks out of the office. The man stays there stunned and then runs after her and the video ends there. Max looked at Lance and asked, "Did she get out okay."

The servant nodded "Of course she did, who do you think I am? I can't let a woman like that get hurt by an idiot can I."

Max laughed and shook his head and then looked at the flash drive and Lance laughed even harder. He looked at the blue-haired servant confused "What does this have?"

"Phone number and a little extra something"

Max sighed and put it in his computer, the flash drive had a folder labeled Phone numbers and another one with the name Videos."

He looked at the servant "What else did you get? Just tell me already."

Lance laughed "Well while I was on his computer looking for the phone numbers? I found an interesting folder with lots of videos from the lady's rooms."

Max was left with his mouth open and then he shook his head and sighed "So this bastard has cameras in the bathrooms. Looks like there is no way that we can let him go."

Lance nodded with an evil smile "Sure does doesn't it, So now that you have the man's phone number what are we going to do now?"

"Well, I'm going back to the city and hooking up with some WIFI to read more on the owner than I'm going to give him a call and get an appointment as fast as possible."

Lance nodded and laid down on the grass "Well that's your job, come look for me if you need anything else."

Max nodded and looked at Houndour who had been listening to the entire conversation "See we aren't that bad, all we do is clean out the trash hehe. Anyway, I have to go for the moment, stay with him and wait for a girl with purple hair to appear, she will be your new trainer."

The pokémon nodded and Max teleported back to an alley. He walked over to a fast food place and ordered a burger and something to drink and sat down to do his research. Once he had finished Max sighed and nodded. He teleported back to Lance and found that Serenity had arrived and was playing around with Charmander and Houndour. He smiled and grabbed Lance and teleported back to the alley and walked over the Pokémon Center, greeted Nurse Joy, and dragged Lance to the phones before he could do anything stupid.

There he told Lance what he would have to say and moved away from the screen.

They dialed the phone number and someone picked up almost right away.

"Hello who is this"

On the screen, they could see an old, bald man.

Lance gave a friendly smile and waved "Hey how's it going, I recently moved here in order to start a business. I'm contacting you because my business will require me to have a constant supply of pokémon food. I went to look for you at your company but instead, we found your manager, who treated me terribly. Also speaking about that it seems that he had been abusing the little power he has and treats the employees horribly. I so happen to have a bit of evidence. The main point here is that I would like to meet and see if we can make a business deal."

The man seemed interested and nodded "Could you meet with me right now at the Heaven Stay Hotel?"

Lance pretended to yawn while he turned around and found Max nodding "Yeah I can, I'll be there in a few minutes."

When the call ended they smiled and looked in the computer for the address. They said their goodbyes to Joy and walked out, but not before Lance promised to come back and visit."

Before they headed to the hotel Max and Lance stopped at a place where they sold video equipment.

They arrived at the hotel 23 minutes later and walked in, they went to the reception desk and told the man working there that they were being expected by a man named John Stone. After a quick call, they were guided to a door by a hotel employee who left shortly after that.

Max and Lance sighed and knocked at the door, which quickly opened. Inside there was the old man accompanied by a woman that Max knew was John's daughter. Next to her was the bastard man that was looking at them with hatred.

They were guided to a sofa where they sat, Lance patted his arm, smiled and nodded. This was planned by them to make their excuse more believable."

He took a deep breath and looked at the three who were sitting on the opposite sofa "Hi my name is Max and this is my father Lance, we have recently traveled to this city in order to start a business here. We found Foodlax to be exactly what we needed so we wanted to make a deal, however, your son in law over here completely ignored us."

The man quickly stood up and pointed at Max "Look you brat, don't be blaming me for not making a deal, you said it yourself that nothing is built yet. Besides we are here to speak with him, not you."

Lance smiled as he saw how hard Max was trying to stay under control. Max nodded and looked at the old man "My father has me talk in these meetings to get some experience, as for what he just said about not making the deal because we don't yet have something built. I'm okay with it, the thing that irks me is how he treated us and how he treats the employees."

Max took out his laptop from his backpack, put the video, and turned the screen to the three of them. When the video finished he was surprised to see that the only change of facial expression that came from them belonged to the man. He was shaking in both anger and fear as he looked at the video where he tried to blackmail the woman.

Lance laughed "Well looks like it's not much of a surprise."

Max shook his head and thought "This family is so messed up"

He tried regaining his composure "You see we have a deal that can make both of us a good amount of money, but before that we want you to fire him,"

They waited for a few seconds until the man shook his head "Not going to happen even if he is a totally good for nothing he is my son in law. Now the thing we have to ask ourselves is how much is it going to cost me for you to sell us the video."

Max smiled and sighed "Well then I guess now we have a bit of a problem since we are not going to sell it. Since you are still stubborn and don't want to fire him then that just tells me that you are not worthy of having a business much less employees. I'll give you a counteroffer, how about selling my father your Foodlax company. If you don't then we'll have no choice but to upload the video online."

The old man began laughing and shook his head "Come out"

As soon as he had finished 3 men appeared from the room behind "Kid even though I like you it looks like I'm going to have you killed so that all of this can be forgotten."

They both stood up and Max looked at Lance who nodded and kicked the sofa hard making it smash into the men behind them. The three in front of him were shocked and began to break in cold sweat.

Max released his blood l.u.s.t and smiled ���Well now that little stunt is going to cost you, if you want to save your lives then you're going to have to hand over both the Foodlax company and that big ranch you have free of cost hehe"

The old man stood up nervously and kneeled "Sorry for our mistake, I'll fire him but I can't give you all that. If I did it would leave us without anything to support ourselves with."

He laughed and then shrugged "Well then that just means that you shouldn't have made your mistake. A minute ago it didn't seem you cared much about the lives of me and my father so why the hell should I worry about yours. Get all the paperwork ready, I'll come visit you early in the morning. Oh and before I forget, don't try to do anything you shouldn't, father, can you hand it to me?"

Lance chuckled and threw him a pen "You see this is actually a small camera and it just captured everything that just happened, with a few cuts here and there the whole web might know what you tried to do."

He clicked on it and turned the pen off. He looked around and found a window that was opened, he pointed at it and then at the men and Lance understood. The servant walked over to the men and broke their necks and threw them out the window and into Max's storage. Since the three in front of Max could only see Lance throwing the bodies outside they began to turn pale.

Max positioned the couch back in place and sat down as he put his feet on the table "They were the ones who were going to kill us right so why should I let them get away with it. Well anyway, we have to leave, remember to behave and have everything ready.

Together with Lance he walked towards the entrance, he let the servant pass by first and he whispered "Watch them".

Lance smiled and became invisible "Leave it to me" then he walked back in and Max closed the door and walked out of the hotel alone.

He went to a fast food place and bought something for him and Serenity and teleported back to the camp. There he found her sleeping with Houndour and Charmander on her sides. He smiled and put up the tent and said "I know you're awake, do you want to eat something?"

She opened an eye and nodded with a smile, after they ate he fed the pokemon some pokémon food and they all went to sleep.
