After killing the dragon and using Brynhildr to absorb it's soul, Basara began flying back to the hero village. While he was flying he began thinking why that dragon would appear here. The more he thought about it, the more it seemed strange. Because dragons typically live inside dungeons and rarely come outside. They come outside only for two reasons: to eat and to collect treasures. But it didn't seem that dragon wanted any of that.

Black chromatic dragons take p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e in carnage. They come outside for three reasons, the first two being the same as all other dragon's while the last one being their d.e.s.i.r.e to kill. But in this scenario, something seemed out of line. Why was that dragon heading towards the hero village?

There are various human settlements in the vicinity, but for some reason the dragon was particularly headed towards the hero village. Under normal circ.u.mstances, it would go to the closest human settlements near it start killing people. But that dragon chose to go to the hero village that was much far away from it from the surrounding villages in the area. And why would that dragon attack the hero village in particular despite being aware of the fact that it was a village of heroes. It should've been able to sense the auras of all the heros in the village from here, but still chose to go the village.

Even if dragons are prideful creatures, they aren't fools. There are more than two thousand five hundred heroes in the hero village. With so many heroes combined even they couldn't kill the dragon, they could've proved a serious threat to it, meaning they could've damaged it severely. Even Black Chromatic dragon's avoid taking risks like that, because if they get severely injured and in that condition get attacked by someone their life would be at risk. That's why dragon's tend to avoid situations where they might end up seriously damaged.

But that dragon still went for the village. Also dragons are highly prideful creatures who would rather die than inning away from a fight. But for chromatic dragons that rule doesn't apply. When their lives are in extreme threat they'll try to escape no matter what. When Basara crushed that dragon even when it was enraged. The dragon must've understood that it stood no chance against Basara and that it's death would be certain.

In this situation rather than running away, the dragon chose to take down it's opponent along with itself. And finally, the dragon appeared at a time when Jin wasn't at the village. It feels like all of these evens have been planned. Under all these different cases, this entire event seems to be fishy. It's almost as if the dragon was being forced by someone or something to do attack the village or it was being controlled.

No matter which one case it was, there was definitely a hidden purpose of someone behind all of his, but what could it be? And who is the person behind all of this? Suddenly a thought came to Basara's mind

(Of course! It must be Alberios! He must've been behind all of this! And why would he do that I can already guess. He must've waned to use that dragon to kill me. He knows my personality and would've surely thought that despite the odds I wouldn't have hesitated to back down from matters related to the hero village's safety. Sigh..doing all of this just to kill me. It seems that I'll have to take care of him sooner than expected.)

Basara then reached the village and landed on the ground. The moment he landed all the heroes came rushing to him. The elders, his friends including Yuki, Kurumi and Takashi etc everyone came running to him. They were all worried about him this whole time.

They understood that if Basara was here, then it meant that the dragon has been defeated. But they were all concerned if Basara was injured or not. The villagers welcomed him and thanked the gods for the fact that he was safe. His body was checked and it was confirmed that he didn't have any injuries. All of them released a sigh of relief.

Yuki and Kurumi hugged him and started crying. Seeing tears in their eyes, the other villagers couldn't hold back and also started shedding tears. They were thankful that today they didn't have to she'd tears of sorrow and they were proud that there she'd tears of joy. They were all proud of Basara.

All the heroes gathered in the Colosseum fr awarding Basara. He defeated an SS rank back chromatic dragon after all. He deserves to be rewarded by the village. When everyone had taken their seats, the elders rose up from their seats and started speaking.

"Today all of us have gathered here for a very special reason." says Atsuta.

"The purpose of this event is to reward a young man for his strength and bravery." says Fuji.

"That young man is Basara. Today our village was in a huge danger, due to appearance of an SS ranked black chromatic dragon. We requested Basara to take on the mission to take down the dragon. Without hesitation he accepted it and immediately ventured out to defeat the dragon." says Kumano.

"By putting his life at risk, Basara defeated the dragon for the sake of our village and it's people's safety." said Atsuta.

"In honor of his achievement and loyalty to the hero clan, we have decided to award him on this auspicious occasion. Basara please come up to the stage." said Fuji.

Basara then came to the stage. He stood in the ground of the Colosseum. The elders also came down on the ground.

"'Infinite Slayer' Basara Toujou, son of the strongest hero 'Wargod' Jin Toujou, today we, the elders, on behalf of the entire hero clan thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

"We award you by increasing your rank to the SSS Rank, the same as your father's!"

Everyone started cheering and clapping after hearing that Basara's rank was going to be increased. From now on he would be regarded as the second strongest hero in the entire world. After all, Jin and Basara would be the only people to be SSS Rank heroes. The elders gave Basara his new hero battle suit which had an azure color instead of crimson. But it didn't end there.

"We have also decided to give an alias. 'Infinte Slayer' is your title, from now on you'll have an alias like your father whose alias is 'Wargod'. Your alias will be 'Eusebius' !"

Everyone in the Colosseum started clapping for Basara. Today is a memorable day in the history of the hero village that none would ever forget. The name 'Eusebius' would soon become known throughout all supernaturals. This name would give rise to dear in the hearts of evil and respect in the hearts of good. But for Basara this is just the beginning. His first step to becoming a legend!!
