Gu Sheng was stunned for quite a while before realizing Yi Zhongshen was referring to how Bo Xiyun addressed him.

Towards Gu Sheng, Bo Xiyun said, “Thank you, senior.”

Towards Yi Zhongshen, he was more polite with, “Thank you, Senior Yi.”

In all honesty, if Yi Zhongshen didn’t mention this, Gu Sheng wouldn’t have noticed the difference in this one word. But now thinking about it, he did address them differently.

“You are asking why he’s more distant when addressing you?”

Gu Sheng considered this while rubbing his arms, before seriously replying. “Maybe you scared him?”

He was speaking from his heart; that expression he had received from Yi Zhongshen earlier still left lingering fear in him.

Not to mention the kid.

But as a good friend, he still tried his best to console Yi Zhongshen although his spine still felt remnants of cold shivers.

“I feel with junior’s character, he would not pick on anyone, so there’s a high probability you scared him.”

But looking at Yi Zhongshen’s still extremely cold expression, his consolation did nothing.

Gu Sheng didn’t feel anything was wrong and continued on, trying to enlighten Yi Zhongshen.

“I’m serious, the kid’s a good kid. Good in studies, good character, and polite.”

—Because news had reached the Gu family that the Bai family had found their lost son.

Sixteen years ago, the Gu family lost a child too.

But what happened then was too complicated, and it was only years later that the Gu family received news that this child could still be alive. “Bai Gelei grew up in a rural area and his family was very poor. After getting into a relationship with his junior high classmate, his school fees for high school were paid for by the girlfriend’s family. Later this girlfriend, Liu Ran, became his first wife.”

Gu Sheng grew up in Q City and there had been contact between the Gu family and the Bai family before. He was aware of some of the events in the Bai family.

“After Liu Ran fell pregnant, she caught Bai Gelei in an affair, and they divorced. At that time, Bai Gelei’s business was starting to turn a profit, but the Liu family was very angry with his actions. They broke off all contact with him once the divorce went through.”

These happenings were not a secret, there were so many rumors about Bai Gelei’s infidelity when he was younger. After the divorce, he gave in to his impulses and became a promiscuous player with many girlfriends.

“Three years later, Bai Gelei was involved in a car accident and he nearly died. His temperament underwent a huge change and outsiders believed he had a wake-up call after almost dying. Gu Sheng pinched the flesh between his eyebrows. “Thus resulting in this real and fake son drama.”
