Second Chance: Overlord

As Quinn Ni pushed those big Golden Doors with the Sun in between Xion didn't know what to expect. But, when they finally walked in all he could feel was an incredible air of gloominess. Quinn Ni began to walk into the middle of the room right in front of the massive bed where a man laid on the middle resting his back against it's headboard and a strange black bird with golden eyes on the man's shoulder. The man sighed and relaxed….

"Quinn Ni, Quinn Lan my two sons…." The man's voice was weak. Even Xion felt pity for him, even though the man's face wasn't clear because it was rather dark inside the room Xion could feel eyes locked on him.

'Analyze!' Xion thought as the system computed the man on the bed….

This man laying on the bed in front of Xion at the moment is a truly frightening existence. Quinn Dan, Xion's grandfather is the strongest being Xion has seen since he arrived in this world known as Rain. The Potential Quinn Dan has is something many people envy through and through and would even kill for.

"Father…" Quinn Ni and Quinn Lan said kneeling in front of Quinn Dan as Quinn Xiao did the same. She didn't belong to the Sun Branch, so she had no obligation to kneel, but out of respect for her father-in-law she felt it to be appropriate!

"Ah… Quinn Xiao, my daughter-in-law, still as beautiful as I remember…" his soft voice could make anybody feel relaxed. The way Quinn Lan was acting had Xion thinking this man was a monster to be wary of. In a way Quinn Dan was just that! But not in the way Xion thought. This is the voice of a ruler who rules with peace in mind.

"And you… you must be Quinn Xion… My grandson!" Quinn Dan said as he tried getting up and walking towards Xion while Quinn Ni helped him over.

"I must… see your face, since it is my first time, I wish to also feel it." As soon as Quinn Dan's face was visible Xion was a bit startled but tried not to be rude and show it. He had long beautiful silky black hair up to the waist, golden eyes that seemed to have died out recently, similar skin complexion to Quinn Ni and Quinn Lan. But what startled Xion was the veins…. No….. roots across his body and face that pulsated as if s.u.c.k.i.n.g Quinn Dan's aura slowly. What a cruel way to die.

Quinn Dan could tell how calm the boy was and he couldn't help but think that the child might not be affected by Quinn Dan's appearance. If that's the case, than it would be an incredible relief. Everyone who has seen him up to now have reacted horribly. Some Doctors wouldn't even get close to him.

But, Xion walked over and shook Quin Dan's hand. This boy is a good boy, who would've though that there'd be someone who would be brave enough to shake Quinn Dan's hand. Even Quinn Ni smiled at it, nobody knew if the sickness was contagious so they kept their distance and didn't even bother to visit Quinn Dan anymore.

"It's a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to finally meet you, Gramps..." Xion said with a calm and small smile plastered on his face. He was already thinking of ways to help this old man. By asking the system to analyze the conditions and symptoms. It didn't do just that! It named the condition and a treatment as well.

Quinn Dan waved his hand softly signaling Quinn Ni and Xion's parents to leave. With a bit of reluctancy they began walking out and closing the doors…

But they stayed close outside.…

Once Xion knew the coast was clear he looked at Old Man Dan and said with a great smile. "Gramps, looks like you picked a fight with some coward and got poisoned!…"

…..King's Hall…..

Standing in the King's Hall after being kicked out from the room was nothing, but the reason being so that Old Man Dan and Xion can have a one-on-one?! This world is crazy! Quinn Ni admired his monster of a nephew. Quinn Xiao was actually anxious enough to bite her nails as she waited for the doors to open again! What was gonna happen?! Was Xion in trouble now?!

"Ha ha ha ha… what's this now?…" A cringe voice came from the Hall's Main Entrance. As the figure walked close enough to be recognized, Quinn Lan jumped in front of Quinn Xiao protecting her from the man and Quinn Ni walked up to face him…. The man was none other than Quinn Lu.

"Cousin Lu, you know very well that you are not allowed to step foot on King's Hall again…" Quinn Ni said pushing Quinn Lu back a couple of feet with his palm.

As Quinn Lu finally regained his balance his eyes never moved from Quinn Lan. This man who used to be a huge obstacle before was surgically removed by Quinn Lu. He had gone through so much to create a plan to ban Quinn Lan from the Sun Branch. To think that the damned weakass piss-ass would dare show his face in HIS palace!!

"Quinn Lan, how dare you show your face here?" Quinn Lu questioned Quinn Lan coldly, completely ignoring Quinn Ni. Quinn Ni felt disrespected but kept his cool. He had enough experience when it came to his cousin Lu and his ways.

"None of your f.u.c.k.i.n.g business Mr. Lu…." Said a voice as the Golden Doors split open again. Out came walking a boy with no aura in the least and a tattered outfit. Quinn Lu felt offended by the way this trash peasant spoke to him. But he would have his fun with the brat when he got control of the Sun Branch, no matter who he was...

"Hah! Who the hell do you think your speaking to… damned commoner!" Quinn Lu yelled with disdain, but as soon as his words finished, out came Quinn Dan looking weak and sick, Quinn Lu chuckled at the sight of the current and soon to be dead Master of the Sun Branch!

"It was not him who spoke, Mr. Lu. It was me the person in front of whom you should kneel...!" Quinn Dan said glaring coldly at Quinn Lu. But, what surprised Xion was how Quinn Lu seemed unafraid….

"Dead Old Man speaking!! Hey you crazy Old Man don't talk like you have the power to order me around! I am Quinn Lu!!! You f.u.c.k.i.n.g wanna be King!…" Quinn Lu retaliated. There was no fear in his eyes, he spoke his true feelings without hiding even a tiny slither of his resentment!

Quinn Dan walked over to Quinn Lu the old man's eyes were piercing through Lu's like crazy. Even though Quinn Lu acted all high and mighty a couple of seconds ago, he was now dripping cold sweat like crazy. The moment Quinn Dan got close enough that Quinn Lu couldn't even think about dodging the old man's piercing gaze.

"Speak to me like that one more time…." Quinn Dan said as his yellow eyes had regained a bit of life and glowed, intimidating Quinn Lu….

"I dare you…." Quinn Dan added with a cold and rough tone that made everyone in the King's Hall feel goosebumps. But, Xion just smiled thinking 'Serves you right you damned piece of shit…' mocking Quinn Lu.

"I'll be back to collect what's mine one day, and you'll be too dead to stop me old man…" Quinn Lu said turning his back and leaving. Quinn Dan turned around and smiled….

"Now, how about you guys go and take a look in the city, Quinn Ni, make sure they have fun, oh and show Xion the Sunray Academy Library.…"
