Second Chance: Overlord

Chapter 20 - #19 Old and Feeble

Many things happen to be going through Xion's mind about the deciphered message. Devil's Guild, Guild Master competition? How in the world did this happen?

It sounded like a really bad entity, Xion was a bit curious but at the same time wary. But this is in another world very different from Earth. Devil's are the scariest things in Rain. They have tremendous abilities and are very cunning. The name sounded like something Xion should be in so he could understand why destiny played out as such.

But, he was humble. If he were to get arrogant he could end up losing more than what he wins, if he lost his life than his revenge plan for the Demon King will not happen. He knows his not old enough or powerful enough to be an asset for something like a guild anyway. This wasn't that kind of game. But, the Devil's Token might come in handy in the future so he stored it on his inventory.

Here the strong eat the weak that was law. This message sounds a lot like something to call forth the strong and smart it is, too compelling, and surely anyone in Rain could crack such an easy cypher. It was barely a six pieces puzzle.

Xion decides to ignore it for now. Even though being cautious doesn't mean his afraid it still made him uncomfortable.

...

Entering his concsiousness he felt the world slowly fading as if it was slowly slipping away. His soul was colorful but something had changed and Xion couldn't understand it.

The soul had stars, black stars. And many black holes it was like seeing a colorful image of space. What exactly does it entail?

Xion had never seen such a thing as he studied those books about cultivation, mind and soul. Had he really reached a level that hasn't been discovered in Rain?

"Whatever it is, it feels f.u.c.ktastic!" Xion yelled as he rose to a sitting position.

The way things were going Xion was sure he could help his parents regain their pride. Also, he would be able to protect the people who deserved protecting. But more importantly was taking back what was his once he got back to Earth, the Demon King will surely feel his wrath, that vow was a serious one.

...

After a short sleep Xion woke up to the morning in a spectacular fashion. He got dressed with his school uniform which felt a bit tighter than before.

Either way when he looked in the mirror it was like a perfect fit now. Looks like his cultivating of the Demonic Aura has affected his body as well.

His eyes were bluer although changing into a darker color for some reason. When he inspected his eyes closely in the mirror he noticed glitters of stars.

"What the…? My eyes have stars in them? What the hell is going on?" Xion was shocked. He had never seen such a thing either.

Both his eyes and soul were forming starlike shapes. Is it true? The eyes are the doors to ones soul?

Xion almost forgot he had to meet Mr. Kon in about twenty minutes! He quickly grabbed his bag and stepped on it all the way to the Academy Battlegrounds.

As he hurried down the hall the Director saw him speeding like a maniac. She was a bit surprised at the speed but a smile crept into her face after a while.

....

Finally, Xion reached the gates of the Academy's Battlegrounds. There was a guard standing in the entrance with a sword on his waist. He was tall with some kind of gladiator armor but with long black trousers and no helmet. His white hair was spikey and his eyes had no emotion at all.

Xion walked closer to the gates and stopped looking at the gladiator who in return didn't seem to notice him.

"Yo! Gladiator….!" Xion yelled making the gladiator lower his gaze and look at the boy.

Xion felt like he was being swallowed. The gladiator's eyes carried such darkness. It was suffocating. But, Xion didn't wish to back down and be stomped on…

Xion began to send an aura of pressure back at the gladiator. His aura was dark and black while it had some kind of glitter that shined like stars. Was this the cause?

He had no time to think about it at the moment as the two auras clashed intensely creating Sparks of electricity. Wind picked up around the two as the Earth began shaking as if scared of what the outcome of this battle would be.

"Hey… Gladiator…" Xion said as if he wasn't even trying to pressure the gladiator. This action amused the gladiator so much that he grew angry and smiled like he was a bit irritated that he was mocked by a child.

But, Xion acted like he hadn't noticed the gladiator's reaction and continued speaking.

"I have an invitation of sorts here…" Xion took out the deciphered badge and showed it to the gladiator.

The surprise of the gladiator was plastered all over his face. The boy in front of him actually deciphered something he had spent 500 years trying to crack? This must be an incredible catch for Master Kon.

The gladiator erased his aura and smiled acceptingly. Xion knew that the badge he had shown him allowed him to understand that Xion was different from the rest. It was a sure fire trump card to avoid such a fight his first day of class.

Xion didn't know that by showing the deciphered badge he would be letting others know that he had now become a special entity worth protecting. Master Kon had explained to the white haired gladiator that whoever deciphered this badge would be able to enter the battle for the the guild Master position.

'This child is very important…' the white haired gladiator thought to himself.

At this point Xion was getting anxious, he had zero patience. 'What the hell is this damned Gladiator thinking of…?!' Xion thought to himself, like hurry the f.u.c.k up and let the boy in!

"Please, Young Master, may I have your name?" Xion couldn't believe the sudden change of tone. This Gladiator just called him a Young Master? What was that about.

"What's with that you damned Gladiator?! Call me Xion, I am no Young Master…" Xion said with and apathetic face and tone.

"I am known as Ares, I am Master Kon's Guardian, it is a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet Young Master Xion…" Ares said with a smile that only made him even scarier than before.

After the awkward introductions Xion was guided into the empty Training Battlegrounds. In the center were two students Xion had never seen them before, but he could feel that they carried different auras than the ones Xion knows of. That excited Xion to no limits, he kept learning and seeing such great things everyday.

Ares noticed that Xion had begun to exhale some of his pressure onto the other two. This boy had an extremely powerful Aura that even Ares himself gulped at the pressure, it was no joke. How could a boy be this strong? Ares couldn't help but wonder...

"Welcome, welcome…." An old voice could be heard walking into the Training Battlegrounds from the other end of 55th Floor.

Once the old man walked into the light everybody was shocked to see such a scene. Old and feeble, this is the person who is supposed to train them? The person who is supposed to be the one who doesn't choose weak students?

At least that's what the first two to arrive thought. Xion on the other hand saw a different scene.
