Chapter 2: Me and The Summoning

"You've been chosen as 68th hero." The girl said with high pitch voice.

But I'm already dead isn't? Was that just a dream?

"....."

"You are the chosen hero. Are you listening?" The girl said as I look around.

So I look at her and listen to her words. Basing on her words, I can fully understand her language, but I don't understand what's she's talking about.

"I don't understand any what's happening right now." I said as I match her gaze.

"I see, So should I explain it to you?" As she ask me without any change on her expression.

Basing on her demeanor tone, I'm sure she's already used to it.

Putting aside the 68th hero thing. Why am I still alive?

Why am I getting called hero? Where am I and who is she?

I have too many questions, but because of her calm atmosphere, it helps me to calm also.

Thinking back before, maybe there is kind of magic that can capture humans soul and tranfer it to that magic spot.

"Then, I will explain it to you as we reach into your room."

Before I even ask her for help, she already walked past me. While looking at her, I tried to stand up, but I immediately trip down on spot.

As my consciousness fade away, her images was showing in my dreams.

We've only talked for a few minutes, but I wonder why I didn't really pay attention to her appearance.

She was like a black mage in a game that I was playing when I was still teenager.

After waking up, the explanation continues.

So apparently, this world is not the world I was born into, but a different world.

A soul who has quality of being a "hero" and bought his/her soul to this world. In short, Summoning Magic.

Because the life of the original self has ended, it is not possible to return to earth. I don't know why my body appearance is same as still though.

But, I didn't look like the past me. My appearance was like 18 years old me.

Now, "Hero" comes with word "Monster." It seems the "Summon" one has given a job to protect the humanity.

My sister Kyoko and I love this kind of stories, so I read them a lot but, I didn't expect I will become like one.

Going back to the question hero summoning, apparently you'll get blessing both on mental and physical.

In terms in physical blessing, it actually depends on the person's body, body strengthening or immortality can be use.

While in mentally blessing, apparently it's about mana. Comparing to the person on this world, my mana is apparently superior than other.

However, I'm still at white bed right now. In short, I'm still not cured like always been.

Even though I'm already in another world my situation haven't change.

I'm still useless as always.

Currently in this stage, I'm just average. I don't have strong body nor a lot of magical power.

But I was satisfied with it.

I was satisfied not being too much strong, or getting a special power.

If I want to be blessed, I want someone to cure me.

I was chosen as hero, but they chosen the useless one.

Like always in a white room, I was being treated like in hospital in earth.

Even with this and that treatment, there's no way they can cure me. All I can do was to lay down.

I have no much information about this world, but I'm currently getting treated correctly, with clothing, food and sheltering, but just for the time being.

I think I'm getting confined as surveillance whether they can use me or not.

After summoning without permission. If they can't use me. they'll throw me away, like a guinea pig, and get my freedom. But if they can use me. I'll lose my freedom, because of this chosen hero thing.

There's no salvation either way.

I'm sure I'll be alone again in this world. Nothing will change, as I slowly heading towards death.

The main difference now, is no one is supporting me.

Thinking about my family, I didn't feel loneliness back then.

For the first time, I felt appreciation for my parents and for my sister

In the same white room, different from earth.

My family cherished me more than I thought.
