Chapter 4: Me and Kyle

As Kyle talk about being save by the 5th hero. Apparently 5th is also from japan and the 5th name was Hanai Shigeto.

"Because of him, my life change ever since." Kyle said as he smiles.

"So here's the main issue, that bracelet in your right hand" Kyle said as he glanced at my right arm. "That's a magical tool that transmits your location and you current situation."

"That means even if I run away they'll know where I am."

"That's right. No matter where you go, they'll know where you are. Even if you remove that bracelet in your hand, you'll die."

"So it's like slave collar"

"The person only can remove that were the person who summoned you or by yourself but sacrificing your life is needed."

Kyle let out a sigh as he continues.

"And they are calling that Hero's Proof." Kyle said with hatred. "Also even if you cut your right arm it will move to your left arm."

"In the past, that bracelet was put to me as well. So I had no choice but to follows the king's order. Day by day, I've always been killing lives of others whether monster or person. Then I met the 5th, I mentioned earlier."

"Is Hanai-san also wearing a bracelet?"

"Hanai-san was also hero but he wasn't wearing anything. Maybe the effectiveness of technology in that time were not powerful as this time."

"As Hanai-san fought a powerful monster, his right hand got cut off and the bracelet thought Hanai-san is already dead. When Hanai-san came back to his sense, his right hand bracelet disappears. Then Kyle stop talking. I waited in silence as Kyle smiles at me and changed the subject.

"Hanai-san is actually in book history of this world 5000 years ago."

"No way.... Then how did you two meet?" Kyle look at me like he was trying to trick.

"Setsuna, how about guessing my age then?"

"....You look like 25 for me."

"Hanai-san is over 5000 years old you know. There's no way I'm still 25."

"Are you saying I should use math basing on Hanai-san age?"

"Yep, Hanai-san is using some kind of magic, that's why he looks young."

"..... 35?"

"Nope. You may not believe me but I'm over 2500 years old."

"..."

I can't believe on what just Kyle said to me. As he teach me a lot of things, apparently having a unlimited amount of mana will stop you from aging again.

The normal lifespan in this world is actually around 200-250 years old.

While the nobles who has more mana than usual will reach their lifespan around 300-350 years old.

But there are also magician who has more lifespan than average and live longer than that.

There are races that don't have mana and they have different lifespan other than humans.

Even if noble's average lifespan were 350 years old. Kyle's 2500 years of living is just not right.

"Hanai-san's mana were already over the limit. That's the reason why I'm almost immortal" Then Kyle look at me. "I got this body with extremely amount of magic, knowledge and abilities that Hanai-san cultivated. When Hanai-san wanted to die, I meet him."

Then Kyle look so nostalgic as he tells me.

"What do you want to do if you're bracelet come off?" A very same question Kyle asked me earlier.

"Then I said, I want to live freely. I want a freedom were I cannot be tied up." Hanai-san already live enough so he gaven me his freedom." Kyle talks about it like it was yesterday.

"Because of this, I was given a third life and I already live to the fullest now. If I didn't meet him, I would have died cursing this world.

As I silently listen to Kyle's word. I already knows what will be next coversation after this but, I didn't interfere.

"That's why I want to give you a third life like Hanai-san did to me. You will abandoned your current body and your soul will go through this body. In short our souls will be put together. Of course Hanai-san's soul is in it also but it will simply replace the owner while the mana, abilities and techniques will be past to the new owner. So it will not change your personality. Both me and Hanai-san were strong so you'll be the strongest you know." Kyle said jokingly.

"I don't want it." I muttered.

I thought I finally meet someone who can understand me besides my family.

I thought I already make a friend who's someone who can understand me. A close friend I can always talk to... and yet it shrinks so suddenly.

"Setsuna, I've been living for 2500 years you know. Do you not want your friend happy? I know you're not living to the fullest in japan and here too. You should live and see various things. Of course living is not easy. There might be hard times and happy times, but you should live."

Kyle's word were full of truth but-.

"I... still don't like it."

"Even if you decline this, I already make up my mind to disappear in this world." Then Kyle threw a shockingly words to me.

"Setsuna if you use this body, my ego will disappear but I'm still with you. You can travel freely in this world. Take a step, Setsuna."

To me who can't say anything, Kyle pursued me differently.

"You want to make this friend happy right? It's just been few hours since we meet but, I want you to live, Setsuna."

Then tears flows my cheeks

"Both Me and Hanai-san were swordmaster you know. No one can stand against us in magic power. All this thing will be yours. Of course the knowledge will be yours but let me tell you this Setsuna I will leave the common sense lock." Kyle said laughingly. (In short Kyle will lock the common sense part so that Setsuna will be able to explore more and enjoy himself learning.)

"It will be useful having large amount of information but, it will not be fun if you already knows about it right? It'll be boring if you can see all information like internet right? Since you like books and didn't experience anything I'll let you experience things by yourself."

Then Kyle look at me.

"Setsuna, live your life with the fullest."

The words that I was trying to refuse was demolished by feelings.

"Yeah. Thanks, I will."

Kyle satisfactory nooded to me.

"Becoming demon lord might not a dream you know Setsuna, if you ever got tired traveling, become a demon lord and make your own country, protect them as you got involved with them" Kyle said happily.

As I got curious how did Kyle involved with other people, I ask him.

"How did you spend your 2500 years in this word?"

"That's a secret..... Hmm.... But let see.... How about locking my memories in 2 parts? If you were able to find the keys, you'll be able to see my past. In exchange for peeking at your past."

Then Kyle looks a bit lonely, while closing her eyes for a second and opening it.

"Setsuna, Are you ready now?"

There is no way I can be ready. There are various of emotions swirling in my heart right now. I want to say I don't want to but there is different reason that's stopping me to do.

Then Kyle put his hands on my back. I look at him and nodded.
