Since they were about to use their spirit abilities, they introduced formally introduced themselves

" Leng Feng, seven years old, rank 19 spirit master. "

" Huo Li, ten years old, rank 29 spirit master. " With that out of the way, they got into position.

Taking a deep breath, Feng rushed toward Huo Li not bothering to use his spirit as his only way of attacking was sending a full-powered punch while guiding all his spirit power into it, making the aura caused by his spirit ring to condense on it. Basically, it was a compressed aura that he incorporated in his fist.

Unfortunately, even after trying countless times, he couldn't do anything other than that. To use this ability, it seemed like he had to go all out, without thinking of anything else but smashing his opponent. Otherwise, whenever he tried to do something else or preserve himself, the ability wouldn't activate at all.

At least, he wouldn't faint after using it now, though, he wouldn't be able to do anything else afterward, which is why he wouldn't try it on her, not to mention that she was not an enemy.

Going back to the fight, Feng punched, aiming for the gut while readying himself to jump back should she show any sign of trying to blow him up. He remembered how her pursuers were thrown away by her explosion and even though he is confident in his body's toughness, he was still afraid of it. Explosions are scary.

The expected happened as of right as his fist was about to connect with her, one of her rings shone and the immediate area around her was ignited. It seemed like her ability was an area of effect one as she would have most likely directed it at him if she could. Thinking about it, directed explosions seem scary...

So, Feng was only caught up in the breath of the explosion as immediately after Huo Li's ring began to shine, he jumped back. Still, it was enough to make him roll on the floor for a few meters. Not letting him catch his breath and standing up, Huo Li used her second spirit ring which created a fireball in her palm, which she threw at him.

Feng, of course, tried to dodge to the side but as if it had eyes, the fireball followed him and exploded at his side. It seemed like Huo Li had the decency to not employ lethal force as not only was the explosion disappointingly weak, it was, as stated before, thrown at his side, not his head.

So, Feng was perfectly fine and casually stood up. This impressed Huo Li as no matter how weak, the explosion should have at least hurt him enough to make him forfeit the fight.

Wanting to see how 'sturdy' Feng really is, she began throwing stronger and stronger fireball at him while Feng became a helpless shooting target. He can't dodge as the fireballs just follow him and he can't attack as every time he tries, he gets launched back, rolling pitifully on the ground. This repeated a few times and each time, Huo Li's attacks became stronger. It seems she wanted to test Feng's limits, though, her rapidly depleting soul power made decide to end the spar with a draw.

Technically, Feng wasn't able to touch her but she wasn't able to harm him either. That and the fact that she is a higher ranked spirit master not because she is more talented but because she is older made her acknowledge Feng. As the nanny predicted, a good fight cultivated the seeds of good friendship ( I don't think I got the quote right, but the meaning is the same right? )

Next was Beibei's turn. Unlike Feng who looked absolutely miserable but was perfectly alright, he got his a.s.s swooped. Contrary to his brother, Beibei is… normal. A genius, talented enough to be viewed highly wherever he went, but still normal. So, with the difference in strength plainly obvious, he wasn't even able to last five minutes, knowing that Huo Li's soul power was running low.

In fact, Beibei was the best of three when it comes to technique since Huo Li was self-taught and Feng mostly relied on his superior strength to win his fights back in the academy. More often than not, just punching faster and stronger was enough. To put it bluntly, he learned things that he didn't have the occasion to apply while Beibei was just a part of the strongest so he often had to go all out since he didn't have an edge compared the others at his level, which is still top 5 of the first years.

In this manner, they spent the month together occasionally sparring, bantering or playing hide and seek and spending time with the nanny, which was the original purpose of the trip. Huo Li was surprisingly nice, it seems like her attitude when they met was the result of her being upset AND shy.

Throughout this month, they never saw the village elder who was apparently out for a commission. Also, the villagers often came to them asking questions bout spirit city, as it was known as a very beautiful city and the academy. Basically, any questions they couldn't ask the village elder were asked to them.

Not long before the end of the holidays, Feng and Huo Li both broke through and advanced a rank, making them rank 20 and 30 spirit master respectively. Huo Li wanted to go have her third spirit ring but chose to wait until the twins left as Feng wanted to obey the words of the dean and go to her before searching for his second spirit ring. At least, that would have been the case if Feng could control himself.

The next morning, just like for his first spirit ring, he mindlessly walked in a random direction without knowing it himself, making Beibei, who was in his path wake up with Feng's foot on his stomach, making him gasp in pain as Feng is heavy, and, realizing the situation, he sighed as he muttered " Again? "

He then woke both the nanny and Huo Li, who was sleeping with her and together, they followed Feng, who walked toward his desti-spirit ring.
