Soul Land: The Savage Star

Following Feng who was mindlessly walking ahead, Beibei explained the exact same event that happened a year prior. He still wondered how Feng was able to so deftly navigate through the forest even though he was supposedly unconscious.

Another thing to note is that each time this happened no spirit beast would try to attack them, in fact, no spirit beast was even remotely close to them. Also, does Feng just go to the nearest place that has a suitable spirit for him or is he going for the best spirit around? And in that case, why are the spirits so… close to Flying snow village?

These are questions for later though.

This time, Feng walked for about five hours until he reached his destination, a clearing where the sole thing standing out was a magnificent sunflower. It was big, comparable to a small tree and it was shining in a golden color. Besides, it seemed almost alive as it was seemingly swaying left and right.

As the three following Feng were staring curiously at this flower, Feng just kept walking toward it and when he reached it, he just stopped and stood there unmoving. The swaying sunflower swayed faster and faster and created wider and wider arcs in the air. Then, it stood still just like Feng and shone. After a while, it became moats of light that were absorbed by Feng.

After the last moat of life was absorbed, Feng regained consciousness, only to fall into deep thoughts. Not waiting for the others, Beibei skipped toward Feng and began bombarding him with questions.

" Feng! What was that? What's your second spirit ring? Is it that flower? How old is it? What can it do? And- "

Before he could continue, Feng put his finger on his mouth to shush him. Beibei was too enthusiastic sometimes, though, the fact that he is like this is good. It seems like coming back here helped. Gathering his bearing, Feng first spotted the nanny and Huo Li who were approaching.

He tilted his head in wonder for a while as he looked at the nanny. She... seemed somewhat... mysterious. That and the fact that he couldn't see their 'escort' who was supposed to protect them.

Shaking his head Feng began answering Beibei's questions

" Hum, it seems like the same thing as with my first ring happened. The sunflower... was six hundred hundred years old or something. As for what it can do... " At that point, Feng sighed and continued with somewhat disappointed tone " It creates an aura, just like the first. Though this one apparently boosts earth and plant type spirits by two times as well. "

They then hurried back home as it was already midday. They needed to pack up the twins' baggage as they would leave the next day.

After a tear-inducing separation, the twins were on their way back to spirit city with their escort who was strangely absent-minded. Nothing happened on their way back and they safely returned to the academy. When they came back from sunflower's place, they found the escort sleeping in his tent and after waking up, he immediately went to send a message to the dean. Then, he asked Feng what happened while he was asleep.

Now that they were back, the escort 'politely' asked for Feng to follow him to the dean's office while Beibei got back to their dormitory.

Once there, he listened to the escort reporting every important things that he saw, which means nothing much and then fearfully talked about the time he was asleep while Feng got his second spirit ring.

Nodding, the dean dismissed him and after he left, she focused on Feng.

" In the end, this happened without me around but this can't be helped. next time I will have to ground you here even if it's the holidays if you get to rank 29, though this won't be soon. "

Then, she rummaged through a stack of doc.u.ments, that were neatly piled on her desk and took out a paper that she handed to Feng. Taking it, Feng browsed through its contents before his eyes widened. As he was about to ask something, the dean cut him off as she continued

" You are my first... and most likely my last disciple, Feng. This means that I care about you as much as a family member. So, will you formally acknowledge me as your master? "

Taking a second to sort out the feelings he felt from this doc.u.ment's information, Feng got on his knees and kowtowed " This one greets his master! "

Smiling for what seemed the first time in ages, the dean said " Good, you may refer to me as master Rè. "
