Chapter 9 – Family Ecosystem (2)

They must have seen that when Lucia was younger, she liked to beat up the little boy next door, played tricks on her suitors, stole red fruits from her neighbors, and slipped out of the window to play in the middle of the night…

Thinking of Lucia’s great ‘achievements’, a lot of memories flooded into Anna’s mind, so many that she lost count.

Could the gods like such troublemakers?

No, no, no. Whether it was religious doctrines or legal principles, they would all tell people to do good.

Anna’s mind was in a mess, trying to convince herself to accept the fact that Lucia was favored by all the gods.

She felt as if she was dreaming, and the road home felt like it was made of cotton.

Back at home, Anna started cooking while in a trance. When she put the meal on the table, Anna finally realized that Athos had returned home at one point.

Lucia was standing on the chair, her pretty face looking up triumphantly. She looked as if she was holding back so she would seem humble. “Unexpectedly, when I turned my head around, I saw them looking at me with respect, shock and admiration!”

“Amazing!” Athos applauded.

Lucia turned her head to look at Ram. “Why aren’t you saying anything, Papa?”

Ram smiled cheerfully and said, “Lucia is really amazing.”

“…” Although she had already expected it, Anna still felt a subtle discomfort when she saw this scene.

Other than having a cute face, this girl was lazy, only wanted to have fun and didn’t want to work, and had a glib tongue. Although she was her own daughter, when she thought about how this kind of girl was chosen by all the gods… Even she wasn’t able to enter the temple gates!

“Eat!” Anna intensely put the bread in her hand on the table.

“Mummy~. I told you the other day that you don’t have to worry about me.” Lucia didn’t know about Anna’s dissatisfaction, and turned her head to show off. “I already said that I’m so cute, even the gods would like me.”

“Yes, yes, you’re amazing!” Ram agreed with a smile.

“After all, Lucia is so cute.” Athos had perfectly brainwashed himself and accepted his sister’s personality.

“I can’t help it. I was born this beautiful. ” Lucia continued to brag about herself.

Anna: …

No matter how you look at it, her expression looked like she was going to hit her.

Anna grabbed Lucia’s babbling mouth, and the smug look on Lucia’s face turned into a pitiful and innocent look.

“Mamm, dhun du dis (Mum, don’t do this).” Lucia’s mouth was pinched into a duckface, and she tried to plead with Anna with her innocent, weak and pitiful gaze, “Ish hurd sho mukh (it hurts so much).”

Anna remained cold and unmoving. She squeezed her for a while before letting go, and looked at Ram and Athos who were sitting on the sidelines, laughing and watching. “What are you sitting around for? Go serve the food!”

“Okay, okay.” Ram agreed in a good mood, and he stood up and walked towards the kitchen.

Athos also stood up. He looked worriedly at Lucia, who had turned into a depressed pancake with her face pressed against the table.

“Don’t worry.” Ram still had a simple smile on his face, “She will be fine after dinner.”

Athos originally thought that Anna was the only one in the family who was strict with Lucia, while Ram had a good temper. But after seeing Ram’s smile just now… he suddenly felt that he had discovered a terrible secret.

He couldn’t help looking back at his sister again, and suddenly felt that his sister was really pitiful…

This brief sympathy lasted until Athos brought the food to the table.

As soon as the people serving the meal sat down, Lucia, who had been depressed all this time, suddenly raised her head. There was no more trace of suffering on her face, and she smiled brightly like a sunflower. “Wow, we have meat today, I’m so happy! Mommy is really the best mum in the world!”

“I’m the best because I didn’t get you to serve the food, right?” Anna sneered.

“How could it be? I am still a child. When I grow up, I will definitely serve the food.”

Athos stared dumbfoundedly at Lucia, who had been revived in mere seconds. He suddenly had a terrible thought – could Lucia had been pretending to be depressed just so she could avoid having to serve the food?

Really? It only took less than a minute from here to go to the kitchen and serve the food!

“And Mommy, other people…” Lucia continued to babble, so Anna stuffed a piece of meat into her mouth.

Lucia struggled to swallow the roasted meat, and just as she opened her mouth, sure enough, the second piece of roasted meat arrived.

She couldn’t open her mouth to speak while eating. The still vain Lucia could only chew the meat vigorously while bitterly looking at her plate.

After finally finishing her meal, Lucia finally seized the opportunity to continue showing off the fact that she was chosen by all the gods.

“Don’t get in the way, go to the side.” Anna picked up Lucia by the collar, threw her off the chair, and quickly started cleaning up the table.

Lucia wanted to show off!

But Anna was cleaning up the dining table, Ram went to was the dishes, and Athos had gone to patrol the night shift…

She was suffocated to death!
