Chapter 11: Husband, you have great stamina.

A drop of blood dripped from the fingertips onto the bluestone floor. Fu Chenyan stared at Zhao Yuezi, his eyes were icy cold, like a gleaming blade that could cut someone’s throat at any moment.

Fear surged in Zhao Yuezi’s heart, and she took two steps back. “You better leave, I don’t want to see you!”

She was fierce but cowardly.

Fu Chenyan’s voice was cold and deep, “There won’t be a second time.”

After saying that, he turned around and left.

Zhao Yuezi sat down in despair.

Fu Chenyan stopped the bleeding on the back of his hand, and after a simple disinfection, a clear wound was still visible.

His eyes were filled with shadows. After a moment, his gaze became cold and indifferent again as he strode into the dining hall.

The Fu family sat around the table, the dishes were already served, and the servants were pouring soup.

When Fu Chenyan entered, the conversations abruptly stopped.

A servant pulled out a chair for Fu Chenyan, and he sat next to his father, Fu Baiyuan, and said softly, “She didn’t come.”

Fu Qiqing, who was sitting in the main seat, had a slightly displeased expression, while Fu Baiyuan remained expressionless. “Then let’s start eating.”

The people picked up their chopsticks and started eating. Fu Chenyan’s injury was on his right hand, and when he reached for a dish with his hand, the wound on the back of his hand was exposed to the sight of a few people.

No one asked about it.

Halfway through the meal, Fu Qiqing suddenly thought of something and glanced at Fu Yumo, “By the way, you should go and clarify those messy rumors with Anran. I’ve already made a reservation at a restaurant for you. Be there at seven o’clock tomorrow evening, remember to arrive early.”

“Why are you making decisions for me again?” Fu Yumo frowned. “I’m not going! There’s nothing to clarify!”

Fu Qiqing stared at him, “You little brat, are you trying to make me so angry that I end up in the hospital?!”

Wu Liangjing reprimanded, “Yumo, you’re not allowed to talk to your grandfather in that attitude!”

But Fu Yumo didn’t care about his father at all. He said irritably, “Grandfather, how many times do I have to say it? I don’t like that Lin Anran! Can you stop meddling?”

The old man usually indulged him, but on this matter of marriage, he insisted on him marrying that Lin Anran, and it made him furious.

He only wanted to marry Ling Tian!

Fu Qiqing said, “What’s wrong with Anran? She has outstanding looks and exceptional talent. I think you’re not worthy of her.”

“Yes, yes, I’m not worthy!” Fu Yumo felt unhappy and blurted out, “Since you like Lin Anran so much, why don’t you just marry her yourself!”

Fu Qiqing was enraged and slammed the table with a palm, “You little brat, what nonsense are you talking about!”

“Yumo!” Wu Liangjing and Fu Jinshi both glared at their son.

Fu Yumo shrugged his shoulders and remained silent.

Fu Jinshi asked, “Are you still thinking about that person from the Ling family?”

Fu Yumo did not deny it, “If you want me to get married, it must be with Ling Tian.”

“Even if the fallen petals have intentions, the flowing water remains indifferent. She would rather go bankrupt than be with you. Why are you still being foolish?”

Fu Jinshi’s tone was filled with frustration, “Do you know how many people are ridiculing you behind your back? You have tarnished the reputation of the Fu family!”

“Who dares to ridicule me?” Fu Yumo snorted coldly, brimming with confidence. “She will come around. In a few days, I will bring her back for all of you to see一”

He suddenly paused, feeling a substantial and icy gaze piercing through him, cold and dangerous, like being targeted by a venomous snake, causing a chill to run down his spine for no reason.

In an instant, Fu Yumo’s gaze met Fu Chenyan’s eyes.

A pair of bottomless black eyes harboring a hint of chilling coldness.

In just half a second, Fu Chenyan casually withdrew his gaze.

The heavy sense of oppression that weighed on Fu Yumo suddenly disappeared, as if the coldness he had just felt was merely his illusion.

. . . . .

The night was dark, without stars or moon.

A black Maybach drove out of the Fu residence, moving forward in the dense darkness of the night.

In the back seat of the car, Fu Chenyan glanced at the wound on the back of his hand, opened his phone, and dialed Ling Tian’s number.

“Husband, are you back?” The phone connected, and the young girl’s tone was light and expectant.

Fu Chenyan paused for a moment and said gently, “I have something to take care of at the company. It will be late before I can go back. You go to sleep first, don’t wait for me.”

“How late will it be?” Ling Tian coquettishly asked, “Can I go to the company and accompany you?”

Fu Chenyan’s heart softened, and he fell into a slight silence before refusing, “It’s not convenient. You go to sleep early.”

“Okay.” Ling Tian’s mood noticeably dropped, “Then focus on your work and try to finish early and come back soon.”

Fu Chenyan replied, “I’ll do my best.”

There was a hint of longing in Ling Tian’s voice, “Husband, I miss you.”

Fu Chenyan looked out the car window at the brilliant lights of the bustling city. The flowing lights reflected his cold eyebrows and eyes, but also revealed tenderness in his eyes.

His voice was deep, “I miss you too.”

The next second, a crisp and sweet “mwah” sound came from the other end of the phone.

Fu Chenyan’s lips curved slightly, but he hesitated because the driver in the front seat was driving. He pressed the privacy mode button in the backseat, and the partition in the middle of the car slowly rose, isolating the backseat into a private space.

After a few seconds delay, Ling Tian, who was becoming a little impatient, said, “Honey, didn’t you hear it?”

“I heard it,” Fu Chenyan replied and smacked his phone with a “mwah” sound.

Ling Tian smiled gently, obviously being pacified by this virtual kiss.

After ending the call, Fu Chenyan went to the company and didn’t leave until half past ten at night.

Twenty minutes later, the Maybach entered the underground parking lot of Lanting. The car engine was turned off in the parking space, but the person inside the car never got out.

The parking lot was quiet, with no cars entering or exiting. Time quickly passed to half past eleven, and the sound of dialing a phone call came from the quiet car.

The phone was quickly answered, and Aunt Qin’s voice faintly came from the mobile phone, “Sir, what’s the matter?”

A deep, low voice of a man sounded, “Is she asleep?”

“Miss Ling took a bath an hour ago and had bird’s nest soup. She should be asleep by now.”

“Understood.”

The phone call ended, and the door of the Maybach opened. A pair of handmade leather shoes touched the ground and walked into the elevator.

On the top floor of the apartment, the heavy curtains were tightly closed, not letting in a single ray of light.

In the pitch darkness, with a light “click,” the front door opened and the motion sensor light in the foyer turned on.

Fu Chenyan changed his shoes, and the motion sensor light went off. He had no intention of turning on the lights. As he passed through the dark living room, he was about to go straight upstairs when he heard a soft, gentle voice.

“Husband?”

Fu Chenyan paused and looked towards the figure sitting up on the sofa.

He walked over and gently touched Ling Tian’s head, “Why aren’t you asleep so late?”

Ling Tian reached out and hugged his waist, saying, “I couldn’t fall asleep. I was waiting for you here. Now that you’re back, I feel tired.”

She knew that Aunt Qin had gone to bed, so she sneaked downstairs.

Fu Chenyan felt somewhat helpless. He picked her up horizontally and started walking upstairs. “If you’re tired, then go to sleep.”

Ling Tian hooked her hands around his neck, making herself more comfortable in his embrace.

Seeing Fu Chenyan carrying her upstairs without even gasping for breath, she couldn’t help but praise, “Husband, you have great stamina.”

“Is that so?” Fu Chenyan chuckled with a hint of ambiguity.

He carried Ling Tian into her room and gently placed her on the soft big bed. Without turning on the light, he kissed her lips in the light coming through the window.

“Tian Tian, goodnight.”

“Just a moment.” Ling Tian turned over and reached out to turn on the bedside lamp.

The light suddenly lit up, and Fu Chenyan instinctively hid his right hand behind him.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

Ling Tian didn’t notice his movement, she opened the drawer and took out a photo album from it: “When I was shopping with Qin Qin today, I found a beautiful photo album.”

She handed the album to Fu Chenyan: “Husband, take a look.”

The album was temporarily empty and not heavy. Fu Chenyan took it with his left hand: “It’s very beautiful. Let’s take more photos and share them in the future.”

Ling Tian shook her head: “This album is not for storing my photos.”

Fu Chenyan raised his eyes to look at her.

A sweet dimple appeared at the corner of Ling Tian’s lips: “It’s for storing our previous WeChat chat records.”

A hint of surprise flashed in Fu Chenyan’s eyes: “WeChat chat records?”

Ling Tian nodded: “Yes, tomorrow print out all our previous chat records, have them laminated, and store them in this photo album.”

Fu Chenyan remained silent for a moment and asked: “Why suddenly want to print and preserve them?”

Ling Tian: “My old phone was broken, and I lost all our chat records. It’s such a pity. Luckily, you still have them on your phone. I want to print them out so I can look at them from time to time.”

In fact, she didn’t remember much about what they had talked about before, but she was sure it was sweet and definitely memories worth cherishing.

Ling Tian looked at Fu Chenyan and blinked her eyelashes lightly: “Husband, where is your phone? I want to see our previous chat records.”

Fu Chenyan paused slightly and pondered: “My phone…”

A chill ran through Ling Tian’s heart: “You… didn’t delete our previous chat records, did you?”

“No,” Fu Chenyan replied calmly, without changing his expression. “My phone was left in the car. I’ll print them out for you after I go to the office tomorrow.”

Although she really wanted to see them, since she could see them tomorrow anyway, Ling Tian didn’t insist on him going downstairs immediately to get the phone. Her beautiful eyebrows gently curved as she nodded, “Alright.”

Fu Chenyan let out a barely noticeable sigh of relief: “Go to sleep now.”

“Mhm,” Ling Tian casually placed the album on the bedside table. Accidentally, one corner of the album bumped into a glass water cup on the table, causing it to wobble and fall to the ground, shattering.

Some glass shards splashed into Ling Tian’s slippers placed in front of the bed. She frowned and bent down to clean the glass fragments from her shoes.

“Don’t move!” Fu Chenyan was afraid that she would get cut by the broken glass, so he reached out and stopped her.

When he grabbed her wrist, he instinctively used his right hand.

A wound of nearly two inches on the back of his hand appeared in Ling Tian’s sight like that.

“You, you’re injured!” Ling Tian’s heart trembled. “How did you get hurt?”

Fu Chenyan withdrew his hand and said softly, “It’s nothing, just a careless injury.”

“Let me see.” Ling Tian carefully pulled his hand in front of herself.

Looking at the wound on the back of his hand, her eyes gradually turned red, and a thin layer of mist formed in her eyes: “And you said it’s nothing…”
