Chapter 52: To The Ice Kingdom

After getting unexpected information from Ku-san—

“We got some really good info!” (Dorami)

“Yeah! I want to tell Garnet-san as soon as possible!” (Jade)

“Dorami’s also looking forward to seeing Garnet’s surprised face!” (Dorami)

“I want to surprise her too, but more than that, I want to see her smile.” (Jade)

We chatted as we headed home to get Dorami ready for her quest.

I want to tell Garnet-san about what we learned immediately but she’s still at work. And, before that, I have to watch over Dorami’s first quest!

Dorami was posing in front of the full-length mirror, looking a bit troubled.

She had the mithril shield on her left arm while holding the Dorami Sword in her right hand. She also had some opera glasses, pebbles, and a potion pouch hunched over her shoulder.

“It looks like you have everything though…” (Jade)

“It really feels like something’s wrong though…” (Dorami)

Dorami groaned and continued,

“Even though Dorami uses magic, her hands are full!” (Dorami)

“In that case, why don’t you just keep one hand free?” (Jade)

“That’s possible?” (Dorami)

“Of course, here for a minute.” (Jade)

Though I said that, Dorami couldn’t wait and ended up following me.

I walked up to the wardrobe and took one of the belts from the shelves.

I wrapped it around Dorami’s waist and put her blade with its sheath there.

“Oooh! It’s perfect! It also looks cool! Where did this belt come from?” (Dorami)

Since it looked like she has everything ready, we headed to the guild.

While waiting for Dorami to return, I greeted the adventurers who called out to me.

I looked at Dorami and saw that her walking has returned to normal. Looking at Garnet-san’s face must’ve eased her somewhat.

“Congratulations! What did you get?” (Jade)

“Slime subjugation!” (Dorami)

“Let’s go fight it right away!” yelled Dorami as we left the guild.

We continued to walk along the main street, through the gate, then onto the highway.

We looked at the tall grass while walking.

“…Found one?” (Jade)

“…None. Ah, right! In times like this—!” (Dorami)

Dorami took out the opera glasses from her pouch.

Then, she walked into the tall grass.

I was following her but she suddenly stopped.

“T-there’s one…!” (Dorami)

“You’re right, there really is.” (Jade)

There was a slime about 15 paces away from us.

Dorami put away the opera glasses and pulled out the Dorami Sword.

She very slowly and softly approached the slime but it managed to detect her and jumped at her.

“Kuh! It can’t be helped if she was found out! This is going to be a fair fight!” (Dorami)

“Uooo!” she yelled with a loud voice and swung the Dorami Sword.

“How about this!” (Dorami)

“And this!” (Dorami)

She sheathed her Dorami Sword and held out her right hand.
