Walking The Jiang Hu

Chapter 1 - Letting Go

"Yip An! get up stairs right now" ,Shouted mother in a cry of distress

"Yes mother", i replied.

Dropping the basket of clothes and socks i immediately ran as fast as I could up the shoddily made wooden stairs.

When i got to the room upstairs I saw my grandfather collapsed on the ground.

I could feel a deathly aura leaking uncontrollably out of grandfather.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" ,cried grandfather in pain.

Grandfather was a wrinkly old short man with many wrinkles on his body.

"Teresa, outside..... I want to speak to Yip " whispered grandfather who had lost his breath.

'Bu-Bu..." ,Teresa was left speechless. Mother turned her head in regret.

Mother left the dusty old room while slowly closing the door.

Upon further inspection there was a grey mat in the corner with a few unlit worn out candles surrounding it.

In the middle of the room there was a colossal sized bed with engraved designs of mythical creatures on all sides.

"Yip... I've heard lately from your mother that you've been going to the forest and gathering herbs so you could help my condition", grandfather said while sitting himself against the front of the bed.

"Thank you!"

Grandfather then quickly pulled a knife out of thin air. He slowly stood up with many staggering steps and slowly pulled himself and slashed at the bed mattress. Was this guy a madman?

This was one of his final moments and he decides to slash at a bed mattress.

Was this guy an old wise man or a drunk on his death bed? Anyways, he then reached his hand into the mattress and pulled a small wooden box with a bit of jade lined about it. It had a kind of aura to it. With no time to waste grandfather opened the wooden box. The aura of the insides of the box leaked out and Yip An could feel his vitality all of a sudden replenish and felt light on his feet.

Yip An looked at grandfather with a look of disbelief. Yip An

Is this one of the legendary bloods of the heavens? It was told in legend that if you slayed a legendary beast of legends and consume it...

You would have the body of a god. Everything would be smooth sailing from there. However, it wouldn't mean that no-one would be your equal match. If you were at qi condensation and consumed the divine blood then you would be able to break through to core formation without trouble. However, the best thing about the legendary divine blood was it's attributes. If you consumed the blood of a phoenix. You would have an unparalleled fire capable of turning anything to ash. Or if you had the blood of a sea serpent then you would be able to divide the ocean in two once you reach a high enough stage.

It was once told in legend that a young qi condensation disciple of a empyrean consumed 20 drops of 20 legendary creatures and instantly became a mutilated monster. With each 20th of his body being part of one of the legendary beast's that he consumed blood from. That was because many high level energies were interfering with each other. Also because if the 20 energies were all peaceful with each other then that disciple would've probably been able to cheat his way through a lot of cultivation levels. It was like somebody was interfering with what happened then.

Yip An then looked at his grandfather. Grandfather then pushed the box against Yip An's c.h.e.s.t.

"Are you sure?", asked Yip An.

Grandfather nodded.

"don't tell anyone about it or you'll be courting death" said grandfather.

Yip An then hugged grandfather. His embrace was like no other. He didn't want him to leave.

"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO GO?" cried Yip An.

"It's okay, i'll reincarnate and meet you in my next life" whispered grandfather.

Yip An then cried more than he had ever before.

" I would rather have you never die than getting that blood" sobbed Yip An

If the older Yip An were to see this scene then he would disagree.

Many life changing things were going to happen because of this drop of blood.

This piece of blood is going to determine the death of many people in the years to come.

All of a sudden grandfather's body felt lighter and he couldn't feel his heartbeat anymore.

Yip An then looked at his grandfathers face.

He was dead.

Yip An's face was deathly pale...

Little did Yip An know that his mother was on the ground crying near front of the room door. she was listening the whole time and was speechless.

Why was It her father?

5 minutes later With red cheeks and shaky steps Yip An stood up and out hid the wooden box behind his back. He walked out the door and saw his mother rush past him and see his mother hugging grandfather's dead body.

He then went outside I proceeded to get the shovel.

When I got to the room I tried to pick up grandfather's dead body to bury him.

However, mother wasn't letting go.

"I'll do it" whispered Teresa.
