Walking The Jiang Hu

Chapter 2 - 10 steps in 1

When Yip An had received the drop of blood he didn't apply it immediately. He needed to train his body first.

His grandfather was one of the so called "immortals." If he could find a technique to cultivate then maybe he might be able to become an immortal.

Yip An for his training decided to go to the forest nearby his house. The continent Yip An lived in is called the Solid Earth continent. That is because once you reach 1 km into the earth, even high level immortals can't penetrate through the ground.

It is said that If you are a top level powerhouse on the continent and tried to penetrate the ground you would only be able to chip little bits away from the earth. Those little ch.i.p.s could be used to make heaven defying swords.

There was treasure all across the continent right under people's noses. However, none of them had the ability to take it at all. Yip An live near the town of Arufreta. It's main source of income was It's wood industry. The area was filled with many types of trees. Some were as hard as rock, some when hit in the right place , can be broken by a 6 year old.

They all had their uses for certain things.

Yip An decided to go up to one of the thickest trees in the forest.

He assumed his position.

He stood still.

He had both of his feet a shoulder width apart

While stepping forward with his right foot he also punched his fist forward while turning it.

For a slight moment you could feel an aura leaking out of him for a split second.

He then repeated that process one thousand times. You would think that after all those punches his hand would be badly and he wouldn't be able to use it for 2 months straight? Nope. He had a few red marks on his hand and some scratches. That was all.

Yip An was a strong young man at the ripe young age of 13.

Yip An's strength was just average. If the number one strongest person in the mortal world came here then they would probably blow this tree away with one punch. He would probably leave a mark on the trees behind it too.

However, this tree wasn't ordinary. It would probably wouldn't even break if Yip An punched at the tree 100,000 times. All the trees in the forest were supernatural and all had different quirks. Yip An repeated punching the tree for 5 moths straight. sometimes instead of punching he would kick the tree with his b.a.r.e feet or his shin. He would even practice doing one of the traditional martial arts on it.

we would practice doing seoinage or an o-goshi. Both were different techniques and had different purposes.

He would even go into the caves of dangerous beasts and pick herbs that only live near dangerous beasts. What the beasts would do is find a herb and wait for it to m.a.t.u.r.e to become a 100 year old herb and then consume it so it could become a demon beast. Which was basically the immortal version of a mortal. Sometimes if a beast was lucky enough they would find an already m.a.t.u.r.e herb and eat it. Most young beasts would be roaming about looking for other beasts to consume each other so it could have an increase of power. However there favorite food was human meat stew.

All demon beasts would have to do is eat human, beasts or herbs to become a higher ranked monster. Life was quite unfair.

On one hand, the demon beasts were extremely strong and fast and would always have a higher grade of body.

But they would trade that for very little intelligence in the lower stages. Humans could easily outwit or gang up on the demon beasts. Once the beast became a high level demon beast it was said that they could become human and infiltrate cities.

There was once a story of how a high level demon beast had infiltrated an empire palace and had killed the prince next in line to the throne and had killed him to became the king. One day he held a massive banquet. Nobody came out alive. Demon beasts could become a human and look whatever they'd like to be. It was said that the ruins of the empire is in another continent. Nobody had any idea how the empire could have contact with people from another continent but apparently it was possible. It was thought that they made a formation using immortal powers and messaged another empire through the cost of massive amounts of treasure. It was even a bigger mystery of what relationsh.i.p.s the two empires had. Nobody knows.

Finally It was the day he would consume the blood of the divine beast. He didn't want to be seen consuming the blood and cause a commotion. He went into one of the deepest parts of the forest without hesitation. Yip An then laid himself onto the green smooth grass ground. Once you just take a moment to take nature in. It's amazing. Even the process of a piece of grass blowing the wind is a very complicated process. This moment is something to cherish. Just listen. The scent of the grass. You could describe the piece of grass flowing in the wind in an infinite number of ways. Life has many ups and downs. Yet a piece of grass doesn't have to care about life at all.

Just go with the flow.

Yip An sat in silence observing his surroundings. Yip An felt enlightened about how the universe works. Nothing could describe what he was feeling. Closing his eyes he tried to feel the grass flowing in the wind. Yip An went into a tranquil state and was like this for 1 day feeling the flow and the changes of the wind.

Without wasting anymore time Yip An pulled out the wooden boxed containing the blood of the divine beast. Yip An pulled the glass bottle with the blood to his mouth. It was like his mother's cooking. It smelt good.

Yip An then poured the blood into his mouth and circulated his minuscule amount of qi around his body.

There are three effects when a human consumes blood.

The first one is that you obtains an ability from the beast that you consumed the blood from.

Secondly, the current amount of qi you hold is purified. The smaller amount of qi you have , the more your qi will be refined. Yip An couldn't wait.

The last effect was that the lower his cultivation your was the higher the effects the blood had. It was like teaching somebody a martial art from a young age. when they got to an older age they would be much better at martial art than somebody who started late.

All of a sudden a red light beam went up into the sky and could be seen by everyone in the continent. This red light beam held an authoritative aura. Nothing could stand in it's way and was something you shouldn't mess with.

However, when he was circulating the blood around his body with his qi he felt an immense pressure push down on him. It was unlike anything before. He was coughing up blood before the blood circulating could go from his neck to his knees. The moment the blood in his body reached his feet and decide to bring the blood back up and around his body again. He felt a blockade stopping him from circulating his qi. He had realized that the blood circulating around his body couldn't escape the premises of his feet.

He had realized that his meridians had a major blockage in his feet.

It was like getting a truck down a hill. It was very easy.

However getting the truck up the hill would be a much harder task.

He hadn't noticed this blockage until now because the amount of qi was so minuscule.

It was the same as riding a bike up a hill. It was extremely hard to do but it wasn't impossible.

nonetheless, Yip An thought it was just a minor blockage in his meridians. This was a big problem.

If he didn't get rid of that blockage right now, his feet would explode and the blood would splatter along the ground with his feet and he would bleed out. That would be a very scary event.

Yip An tried all he could and he could feel a massive pressure tighten around his feet. His feet had become blood red and became very soft like grass. If you applied a bit of pressure on his foot then you could pop his foot easily.

Yip An was severely disappointed in the results. While laying down he had tried to think of what he had awakened but couldn't feel anything.

Yip An decided to just let the blood circulate around his feet. 2 hours later you could see the redness die down and see his foot slowly go back to normal. Yip An could then stand up. Yip An then took a step forward with his right foot. Instead of stepping where he wanted to he found himself 10 steps ahead of where he had initially been.

"huuuuuh!!!" cried Yip An in astonishment
