“Now then, Zecca! Can you break through my wind defense?!” Guiltia yelled.

She smiled fearlessly as she held up her fan-shaped Unique Equipment, Bashoken Rasetsunyo. After getting knocked on their butts by the gusts, Kon and Zecca get up.

“With that attack range, even usin’ Decoy wouldn’t make sense… a piece of Unique Equipment like that. Awfully troublesome gal, ain’t she?” Kon said.

Little is known about Guiltia, the guild master of the Swords of the Farthest Reach. No, it’s the other way around. She has too much information to know about fully.

Few people, even her guild members, know the true extent of Guiltia’s fighting style, as she uses various pieces of Unique Equipment depending on when and where they fight. That’s why even Kon, who is well-informed, only knows that Guiltia will show a variety of strategies in battle with many pieces of Unique Equipment.

“At least when we were together, you didn’t have a sword like that,” Zecca said. “How many pieces of Unique Equipment have you collected since then…?”

“No, to begin with, how’d she use so much Unique Equipment?” Kon said. “Even I can only use just 1.”

“There is a way to use a lot of Unique Equipment,” Zecca said. “If you use her personal Unique Skill.”

“Don’t just talk, come at me!” Guiltia yelled, swinging her sword as the two struggled to advance.

Another tremendous gust of wind breaks Zecca and Kon’s posture again.

“Aah-hahaha. You can’t even come close? Is this as far as you two can get?” Guiltia said, smiling triumphantly.

Zecca grinds her teeth in frustration. “Get off your high horse… UOOOOHHHHH!”

Zecca stands up and rushes into Guiltia head-on. However, again, she swings the Bashoken sword.

“Uwah.”

Zecca falls.

“Ain’t good to buy into cheap taunts, y’all,” Kon said. “I for, one, think we might lose here.”

“Huh!?” Zecca cried.

“You may wonder why I’m sayin’ this after makin’ the proposal myself,” Kon said. “The real important part is next month’s guild battle. I don’t think it’s a good idea to show too many cards, y’all.”

Even if they lose this duel, they have nothing to lose. Just sell the summoning stones for the amount promised. They were able to hide the cards of their star Johann, and on top of that, they were able to see the hands of Guiltia. In this situation alone, you could say Kon and her friends ultimately won.

“Kon-san,” Zecca said. “I don’t care if we lose. I’ve never challenged someone with that kind of feeling! I always do my best!”

“Y’all are stubborn, huh…?” Kon said. “Well, I don’t dislike that kind of attitude. I guess I’ll cooperate.”

“Co-Cooperate…?” Zecca said.

“Don’t worry, ya’ll,” Kon said. “We’ll win together… right?”

“Yes! Let’s win together!” Zecca said.

Kon stood up and took out a summoning stone. And she set it in the slot of her pistol-shaped magic wand, “Deep Crack.”

“What?” Guiltia said. “Did you find a plan? Then do it and show me!!” she yelled, wielding her Basho sword again.

“Kyaa…” Kon and Zecca squealed, knocked to the ground again.

However, even after falling, Kon still shot at Guiltia.

But, the bullet does not hit Guiltia directly, instead landing at her feet.

“Hah!” Guiltia snorted, laughing. “You didn’t hit me, did you?”

“Summoned beast call—Kudagitsune,” Kon said.

At Guiltia’s feet, a magic formation appeared right where the bullet had landed, and a snake-like, fox demon-type summoned beast appeared.

“Kon,” the summoned beast went.

“How… is It suddenly so close!?” Guiltia yelled.

Kon’s Unique gun-shaped wand, Deep Crack, can shoot offensive magic like bullets from a normal gun, but its true value lies elsewhere. Summoned beasts that can normally only be called in the immediate vicinity of the Summoner, can instead be summoned at the point where the gun’s bullets hit.

“Hah! Even if you summoned that small fry—Rearm—Thunder Blade, Kuwa Geiger!!”

Guiltia used her Rearm Skill again, switching to a sword with a serrated blade. Then she swung it down towards Kudagitsune with all her might.

However:

Kudagitsune activated its Guts skill. Although it gets hit with Stun, it endures with 1 HP.

“What…!?” Guiltia yelled.

“My turn to activate a Skill—Turnover,” Kon said.

Turnover switches the positions of a summoned beast and a party member. From Kudagitsune being right next to Guiltia, Zecca is now beside Guiltia and ready to attack.

“Zecca!?” Guiltia cried. “Ah, cra…–”

“HAAAAAAAAA!”

Zecca continuously thrusts with her white sword and grazed Guiltia’s leg. It doesn’t do much damage. However:

Zecca got 4 Guts stacks from this attack. She consumes all of those Guts stacks and slams the black sword into Guiltia’s body.

“Guh… ZECCAAAAAAAAAA!” Guiltia yelled.

Even though she received a lot of damage, Zecac was unable to defeat Guiltia. Guiltia gripped the thunder blade in her hand and activated its Skill, Electrification. Zecca is struck by a bolt of lightning shooting out from the blade.

“Kon–…” Kudagitsune gasped as it reappeared and got zapped, instead.

Kon activated Turnover again, Zecca was already out of Guiltia’s range.

“This guild master… ain’t that big a deal, y’all,” Kon said.

“Yes, she has a lot of Unique Equipment, but her abilities are average, and her player skill is not much different from mine…” Zecca said. “If I had one more stack of Guts, we would have won with this one blow.”

When they were in the same guild. There was almost no difference in player skill between Zecca and Guiltia. If there was, it would be the difference in the stats of their Equipment. Zecca was always unable to win against Giltia, who freely manipulates pieces of Unique Equipment. This time it was the presence of her friends that made the difference.

“If we keep going like this, we can beat Guiltia,” Zecca said. “Which is why I’m afraid of Roland-san just standing there, watching.”

“I hope he stays quiet-like,” Kon said.

Roland is still motionless, leaning against the wall of the field and looking at the rest. Guiltia, on the other hand, takes out a new weapon. When she thrusts the sword with the icy blade skyward, 6 floating crystals like the ones they saw during their battle with Crystal Leo appear.

“Charge!” Guiltia yelled.

And with that, they rocketed towards Kon and Zecca.

“For a Saber, projectiles are just unfair~,” Kon whined. “Zecca-chan, can y’all knock ‘em down?”

“I can do it,” Zecca said. “But, what the hell are you going to do?”

“I’m thinking of calling up some big game, y’all,” Kon said.

“Understood, I’ll buy you some time,” Zecca said.

When Zecca takes a step forward, she activates a dual-sword attack Skill and knocks down all six crystals with a brilliant combo.

However, when Guiltia raises her sword, a new crystal appears. And it attacks Zecca again.

“While y’all are at it…” Kon said.

Kon takes out the Angol Moa ore from her storage. By consuming it, it is an item that can take over the MP cost of a Skill once. This makes it possible to summon beyond your maximum MP.

Kon sets the summoning stone of the advanced summoned beast she also took out into Deep Crack. Then, she fires it like a bullet at Guiltia.

The bullet weaves its way through the floating ice crystals and hits Giltia’s golden armor. No damage. However:

“Kuh… crap…” Guiltia hissed.

A magic formation floated around Giltia’s body. From there, countless plant vines appeared, entwining around Giltia’s body, and forming a weave that restrained her.

“Kuh… what is this… I can’t move!” Guiltia yelled.

“Capture complete, y’all,” Kon said. “Summoned beast call—Advanced Hydra Plants!”

The countless plants that crawled out intertwine and fuse…and then… they form the shape of a dragon.
