Where You Are

Chapter 12 - Yu-Na walks by

As we continue eating I wondered if Yu-Na would even come here. After all, this was all just my wishful thinking. It's becoming highly unlikely that she'll show up, but these two are meant to be together, by k-drama logic, they are supposed to meet again after an argument.

Suddenly just like clockwork Yu-Na walks by.

She and Min-Joon stare into each other's eyes and it's like the entire world disappeared and it was just the two of them. I'd be fangirling right now if I was watching it from my computer. Sadly, I have to control myself here.

After a few seconds I start to wonder why neither of them is saying anything. Interrupting this moment would be horrible but when Yu-Na notices me, she'll be quick to jump to conclusions. I'll have to interrupt them. Sorry, k-drama fans.

"Hi!" I say. Both of them look at me. I can see the change of expression in Yu-Na's face. She's jumping to conclusions "I lost my memory when I got mugged and Lee Min-Joon is helping me out since he's the one that found me" I say as quickly as possible. She looks at me shocked, then her expression changes to worry "My name is Hannah Elizabeth Morgan, and you are?" I ask and reach my hand out for hers. She seems fl.u.s.tered by my talking but still smiles at me.

Yu-Na and I shake hands "Park Yu-Na" she answers, "Are you okay?" she asks me. How sweet of her, worried about a complete stranger rather than herself. One of the main traits of a female lead.

"It's strange not knowing anything about yourself yet knowing that chicken goes best with beer" I say as I pick up the bottle of soju. She chuckles, and I see Min-Joon smile "But I'm okay" I say to her. She nods as if she understands my fake pain.

"I'm sure you'll remember in no time" she said. I smiled and thanked her.

"If you aren't with anyone, would you like to join us?" I ask her. Min-Joon looks at me fl.u.s.tered. When Yu-Na looks at him he motions to a chair and acts like it's okay for her to sit with us. I'm sure if I wasn't here they wouldn't have sat with each other. Most likely Min-Joon would have gotten up and left but since they don't want to be rude to a relatively nice stranger (A.K.A. me) they agreed to sit together.

"How do you two know each other?" I ask.

"We don't" they answer simultaneously.

"Let me rephrase. How did the two of you meet?" I ask. Its the same thing but they react to this question differently. They look at each other. Min-Joon seems a bit tense, while Yu-Na looks embarrassed. I try to hold back a laugh just thinking about the first time they met.

It was nighttime, and it had just stopped raining. Both of them where waiting at a crosswalk. He stood next to her. Yu-Na looked up in awe. She was so impressed with how attractive Min-Joon was. He slowly looked down at her and then turned around standing behind her. She was confused about his actions thinking he was a pervert, when suddenly a car passed by splashing her with dirty water.

The people around were shocked but, when the light changed, they kept walking.

"Thank you" Min-Joon told her. He goes to cross the street when Yu-Na yells to him to turn around.

"Aren't you going to apologize?" she asks angrily. Min-Joon chuckles.

"Its not my fault you didn't notice the car" he said.

"You used me as a human shield and now my clothes are ruined!" she said loudly.

"What? Do you want me to give you money for dry cleaning?"

"That's common courtesy"

"Sorry but this suit costs more than your rent" he waves at her and runs down the street. She's about to run after him when the light changes once again and she's left awe struck.

Later on, since she's a reporter, she has to go interview a young heir to a conglomerate who just came back from overseas. It wasn't going to be a big deal until she went to the young heir's office and noticed it was none other than the jerk that used her as a human shield.

After a funny exchange of words, his were mocking while her's were accusing, the interview was done and although they wanted nothing more than to not meet again, k-drama logic brought them together again and again and again.

Yu-Na retells how they met. She smiles and at moments chuckles. Min-Joon widens his eyes cutting in saying that the way she tells it is not how he remembers it. Both of them seem to be having fun and are once again talking like usual.

Did I bring them back together? I'm so happy that I mentally high-five myself.

They continue to talk about how they met and start to ignore my existence, so I quietly take a bottle of soju, and slowly get up and walk outside the tent. I sit on a bench, but I have no idea what to do now. This is the perfect time for them to reconcile and clear up all misunderstandings, maybe even confess their feelings for one another.

I take another sip of soju "Ugh, still bitter" I say.
