Where You Are

I turn around and see two drunken guys, looking at me up and down, but mostly down. These guys are obviously trying to pick me up.

"Whoa! You sure are a beauty" one said.

"A foreign beauty!" the other said "Hey, why don't we go to a warm place. You must be cold dressed like that"

"Hey. I don't think she speaks Korean. Let's just go" guy numer 1 said.

"Don't you know those are the best ones?" guys number 2 said, while placing his arm around my neck "Would you like to go have some drinks with us? I've never gone out with a foreign beauty"

I'm 23 but I don't look like it, so I smile and say "I'm underage, so I'm going to have to pass. Thank you though" I take the guy's arm off me. I turn around and continue to walk when the same guy that had his arm around me grabs me by the wrist and pulls me back. At this moment is when I start to get scared.

"Whoa, you speak great Korean" says guy number 1.

"Don't worry, we won't tell anyone" says guy number 2.

In dramas the female lead rarely does anything, acting all defenseless and I end up getting annoyed with her because she can easily scream for help or hit them where the sun doesn't shine, but to be honest, living through this, it's kind of terrifying.

"Come on, let's go" guy number 1 says. I have to tell myself that I'm not a female lead, this isn't my drama. I free myself from his grasp and look at both of them.

"If you continue to do this, I will scream" I say "So, leave me alone" I turn to leave, and they yell at me to turn around.

"Are you threatening us?" guy number 2 asks.

"I'm warning you" I say without turning around. They both grab each of my wrists. I'm about to scream when they suddenly let go. I hear punches and yells. When I turn around the men are on the ground and Min-Joon is standing over them.

I widen my eyes. Min-Joon looks at me angrily.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" he yells "You take me out to eat and then you ditch me?!" he grabs me by my wrist "Did you regain your memories and plan on leaving?"

"What? No!" I say "I noticed that things with you and Yu-Na were awkward, so I left to let you guys talk it out!" I yelled back. I free myself from his grasp. Both of us are looking at each other angrily but I felt like I shouldn't be angry with him or let him get angry with me. He's the only one providing me food and lodging, for free...kind of. I take a deep breath and ask, "Did you guys fix your problem?"

Min-Joon takes a deep breath as well "Yes. It was all a misunderstanding" he answered.

Of course it was! I think to myself.

"Where'd your sweater go?" he asks me.

"I wasn't wearing one" I say. I mentally hit my head. A horrible lie. Min-Joon nods, grabs me by the wrist and we start walking. After a while of walking in silence he let's go of my wrist and I decide to ask him something.

"Do you like her?" I ask him. Maybe if I get him to accept his feelings for her, he and Yu-Na could get together sooner. Min-Joon doesn't turn his head towards me but I see him look down as his eyes widen a bit. OMG, he did the thing with his eyes that all male leads do. That means he's thinking about it.

"You do, don't you?" I ask with a smile. Pointing my fingers at him "You like her, you like her, you like her!" I say in a sing-song voice. "You should tell her."

He stopped walking "What makes you think that?" he asks. I want to mention all the cutesy things that have happened between them but that would not only ruin my cover, it would also make me sound super creepy.

"Um…the way both of you looked at each other?" I say, "Uh...Friends don't look at each other that way" Min Joon lowered his gaze and kicked a can that was by his feet.

Nodding, he said "Let's go" as he walks past me. Although I didn't get a direct answer, this is what usually happens during k-dramas a few times before the guy accepts his feelings for the female lead, so I guess its fine.

"Hurry up or I'm leaving you" he said turning his head. I realized he was pretty far away from me. I run and walk right next to him.

"Why didn't you walk Yu-Na home? It's already pretty dark, something bad could happen to her."

"Look who's talking" he said "You almost got dragged away by those drunkards. Who knows what they would have done to you?"

"I was going to scream" I said. Min-Joon scoffed "And I can also fight"

"I can believe the scream, but fighting is too far-fetched even for you"

"How can you say that, when you don't even know me?" I ask.

"You don't even know you" he counters. Oh shit, I forgot I was playing an amnesiac. Lying might be easy but staying in that role could be harder than I thought. Just like today I could forget my lie and I'll definitely get myself in trouble. I have to be careful with what I say.

I act like he hit me in the stomach "That's a low blow" I say. He smiles.

"Anyways, when Yu-Na noticed you weren't there, she told me to run after you because it's dark and anything could happen" he said.

Yu-Na, why do you have to be so kind? Aren't you worried about the fact that your man is with another girl? He must have seen the saddened expression on my face because he continued.

"Don't worry about her, she took a taxi back home and I'll call her later to let her know you're okay" he said. I nodded. At least he'll call her "But I'm surprised, you two only exchanged a few words and are now acting like you're the best of friends, worrying about each other and all that"

I felt like he just complimented me. Best friends with the female lead. That would be a dream come true. Also, being close with both of them will be of tremendous help in getting them together.

"What can I say? girls are like that"

"How do you know how girls are like?" Min-Joon asks me.

"Excuse you, what gender do you think I am?" I ask, acting hurt. He laughs.
