Where You Are

Chapter 47 - The party

I looked at the clock on the wall and it said it was 14:30 "The party is at night. Why do we have to go so early?"

"I have some paperwork to finish up at my office and I want to check out how the boy group is doing with their choreography"

"Seriously? Going to work dressed like this?" I asked. He didn't see anything wrong with that.

At work, there weren't many people around. We went to his office and he just signed a few paper without reading them over. It seemed he had already read them but forgot to sign.

Then we made our way to where the boy group is practicing their choreography.

"It's a day off but there are still people that work diligently. This boy group hasn't stopped practicing since I gave them the okay to debut"

We walked to where they were practicing and all of them were dancing. They looked much better than they did yesterday. All of them in sync and none of them forgot their part. I wonder how many times they practice yesterday and today to look like that. Did they even take any breaks?

One of them noticed us and yelled "Noona!"

The others turned around and ran towards me. When they saw me from head to toe they all said "OOOOHHHH"

"Wow noona, you look incredible" one of them said. All the others agreed.

"Where are you going?"

"To a party" I said.

"Be sure not to take any drinks from strangers" one of them said

"And don't get in a car with someone you don't know" another said

They were all treating me like a baby "Am I five? I know how to take care of myself"

"We just worry, that's all" they all agreed. I looked over at Min-Joon and he seemed annoyed that none of them had noticed him.

"Guys, this is Lee Min-Joon. The Vice-President" I said as I gestured to him. They boys looked at him shocked and all of them bowed.

"All of you are doing a great job. I'm excited to see the final product" he said. The boys looked at him happily and thanked him "Keep practicing" he then placed his hand on my back and moved his other hand towards the exit "Hannah"

The boys said "OOOHHH" and I chuckled waving at them goodbye.

….

The party ended up being at a hotel's ballroom. There was already a band and the food was already set up. Min-Joon's grandmother was at one of the tables having a heated discussion with what I think is the person in charge of all the decorating.

"I said white heron, not white dove!" Min-Joon's grandmother yelled. I think she was talking about the tablecloth.

"I don't know. The whole décor seems quite lovely" Min-Joon said. His grandmother turned around and smiled at him "Don't you think, Hannah?" the grandmother then turned her attention on me. Her smile faded but still grinned at me.

"How is your side of the wager going?" she asked me.

I cleared my throat and said "It's going very well Mrs. Chairwoman" I didn't want to seem like I was terrified of her even though she is pretty terrifying if I think about all the connections she has, and of all the things she could do to me if I ever got on her bad side.

"That's good. I expect to see good results" she said. I was confused by this because she is supposed to be against us winning the wager.

"Just because it's a competition, it doesn't mean I can't wish my opponents good luck. I'm not a savage." he chuckled which made me think that she might not be such a bloods.u.c.k.i.n.g monster as the drama has shown her to be. Maybe she really does want Min-Joon to be happy and have the best intentions in mind, she's just not doing it properly.

"Well, you both haven't seen each other in a while so I'll leave you to talk" I smile and bow, then I walk away. I don't really know where to go. Maybe I could go to the buffet table and get some food. But eating at this moment doesn't seem appropriate since people are still around preparing the room.

I decided to call Yu-Na. She answered quite quickly this time "Hannah, I was just planning on calling you" she said that with such an excited voice. I wonder if she was going to give me good news.

"I found information on Min-Joon's parents" Yu-Na said. I was shocked by this. I left the room and headed up the stairs to find a quieter place to talk. I sat down on one of the sofas and what she said next shocked me even more "I think I found the driver"
