Where You Are

After lunch, nothing interesting happened during what was left of the day. We went back home.

I headed to the living room and asked Min-Joon "Want to watch TV?" I felt like watching a movie. I haven't watched TV since I got here because I wanted to seem nice and proper, but I need to watch TV, heck, maybe I could try watching a drama from here. I wonder what dramas inside dramas are like.

Min-Joon shrugged and followed behind me. I turned on the TV but Min-Joon didn't sit next to me. He was looking at the coffee table that had a letter addressed to him.

"What is that?" I asked him. He opened the letter. It looked like an invitation.

"My grandmother…she's throwing a party" he said. I couldn't help but smile. When it comes to dramas and parties everyone dresses in ball gowns and the main couple either dance in front of everyone or the female lead won't be able to spend time with him and his family might even belittle her, but the male lead will come to her rescue.

"That sounds like fun! Will Yu-Na be going?" I ask him. Min-Joon looks at me confused. Yu-Na has nothing to do with the company, why would she go?

"She's a reporter so she might" Min-Joon said.

"When's the party?" I ask him.

"Tomorrow"

I widen my eyes in shock. Do I even have a formal dress? I don't know how to do my make-up very well either and I don't do my hair so its always a curly mess.

Min-Joon must have noticed my panicked face because he scoffed at me. He took his phone out of his pocket and dialed a number.

"I need your help" he said "A friend" he paused again "Yes, and also, get the most expensive dress there is" he hung up and smiled at me.

"Who did you call?" I asked him.

"Someone that will make you look alright for tomorrows party" he said. He left the room then came back with two big binders. Why is he giving me this? "These are all the people that will be going to the party. Learn their names and their backgrounds. It's getting late so I'll go to bed first. We have a big day tomorrow"

He then left upstairs, and I heard his bedroom door open and close. He can't seriously expect me to remember all these names. It took me a number of episodes to remember the main characters, now I have to remember the name of complete strangers?!

As the night went on I was able to finish the binders by three in the morning.

"Do you always mutate during the night?" he asks me. I was not in the mood for his jokes, so I punched him on the arm. It must have hurt because he said "Ow!"

"Don't be such a big baby" I said "I didn't hit you that hard"

"Ladies, she's all yours" he said. I didn't understand what he meant until a group of women with hair and nail products came inside my bedroom.

"First a bath" one of them said.

They made a bath for me and even tried to take off my clothes, but I did that one myself. While on the bath they gave me a facial and scrubbed my feet.

When that was done they moved on to my hair and my nails. While I was getting a mani-pedi others were playing with my hair not knowing what to do with it.

"Should we straighten it?"

"I think leaving it natural would be best. Her curly hair will make her stand-out"

Then other women came with a rack of long dresses.

After everything was done. The women looked at me and applauded. I walked towards the mirror and looked at myself from head to toe. I don't want to sound vain, but I looked beautiful.

"We didn't have to use much make-up. You're just a natural beauty" one of them said.

"You don't need to flatter me" I said with a smile.

"No, it's true" one said.

"And your smile is perfect" another of them said.

Although I did feel beautiful, I still wondered. If I was so beautiful, why have I never had a boyfriend? I've liked the same guy for a long time, but I've never been asked out on a date or been kissed by a boy. There are so many guys in the world, it's impossible for all of them to be scared of asking me out.

"Go show Mr. Lee" I was told. The women all jumped in excitement. They wanted to see what he would say to me. Probably the same thing he said last time he saw me like this…nothing…

I went downstairs and noticed Min-Joon was sitting on the couch on his phone. He was wearing a black tux and a red bowtie.

I coughed and he turned his head to look at me.

"Are you okay?" I ran towards him. He started to cough even more "Do you need some water? I'll get some water!" I ran to the kitchen and brought him back a glass of water. He gulped it down. Then took a deep breath.

He got up and said "You're late" he said. I should have known he was going to say something like that. I was still hoping he would call me pretty though.
