Where You Are

Chapter 45 - Being unfair

"What is with you and liking weird places?" Min-Joon asked as he stared at the entrance "First a tent and now a rundown restaurant?"

I notice one of the workers staring at us. I mouth and apology and turn Min-Joon around with me.

"No backing out" I told him. I take him by the wrist, and we are sat down on a table. We are quickly given drinks. I notice how Min-Joon takes out his handkerchief and passes it on his side of the table. From the corner of my eyes I can see people staring at us.

I slap his hands "What are you doing?" I ask him "Stop it!" Min-Joon shrugs and then goes on to examine his drink. I don't know why he's being so difficult. This place isn't that bad, and the customers can roast meat here, just like in the dramas.

Suddenly a woman appears next to us and hands us our food.

"I've never roasted meat before so leave the grill to me" I tell him with a smile. Then I start to roast the meat.

"I didn't expect you would choose such a dirty and noisy place" Min-Joon said straightforwardly. The waitress looks at him angrily. I never expected him to be so blunt…well, I did, he's the male lead after all but still, that was really rude. I mouth an apology to the waitress, but it seems like her anger just shifts towards me as if his attitude is my fault.

I looked around at the customers near us. They were all staring in our direction. I started to feel a bit embarrassed.

"I think its fine the way it is" I say and take a bite of the meat I just roasted "The food is delicious!" I say and place a piece on his plate. Min-Joon suddenly stares at the plate with intense focus. I wonder what he's going to complain about now.

He touches the meat and picks out a small piece of hair. He shows it to me. I don't really know what to say at this moment.

"That's it, we're going to the Italian restaurant I suggested" he said, getting up.

"We just got our food" I say. He goes to my side and pulls to my feet. He placed 50,000 won on the table and dragged me outside.

"You are incredible" I tell him with obvious sarcasm.

"Now you know how I feel when I'm dealing with you" he answered.

We end up going to the Italian restaurant and the food ended up tasting exquisitely good.

"Next time when we go out to eat, we're going to the place I choose" he told me. He seems really triggered by this.

"Just because I took you to a normal place to eat normal food you're never going to let me pick a place to eat, ever again?" I ask him "You can't be serious"

"Oh, I'm as serious as a heart attack" he said with a very serious expression. Although he was being unfair, his words, with his expression, made me chuckle.

"You took me to a dumpster, I lost complete trust in your judgment on eating establishments" those words of his made me start to laugh. Since laughter is contagious, it wasn't long before Min-Joon started to laugh as well.

I noticed how other people were looking at us, so I try to shush him.

As we eat I decide to ask him what he was talking about with Ae-Ra before I got him out of it.

"Just the marriage dates" he said. I was surprised by this. I guess she's trying to get him to marry her. He suddenly seemed to panic and told me "You don't need to worry. I'm not interested in that"

"In marriage?" I asked him. If he's not interested in that, now I have another problem to deal with.

"No, I mean, I'd like to get married one day but not to her. She's just a friend" he said. I sigh with relief. Its pretty clear that he wants nothing to do with Ae-Ra, I just need to make sure now that all his attention goes to Yu-Na.

"Are you that happy that I'm not interested in Ae-Ra?" he asked me.

"Of course, you two don't make a good couple at all. You need someone that can always put a smile on your face, someone who encourages you to be better, someone kind and collected, who's a bit dense at times but will love you for the rest of her life" I say.

Min-Joon stares at me with his lips slightly parted open. He didn't say anything, he just stared. I hope I didn't say too much. I don't want him to think I'm assuming what and who he needs. From his perspective, we hardly know each other.

I have to say something, if not the atmosphere will turn weird.

"I saw the boy group that will be singing Dae-Hyun's song. They are really great, such nice guys. I hope fame doesn't go to their heads and they stay nice and pure like now"

"You seem to really like them" Min-Joon said as he took a bite of his pasta.

"Oh, I do. Very much" I say, "They are very attractive too" Min-Joon coughs. Did he choke on his pasta? I hand him my napkin.

"They are younger than you, you shouldn't say those things!" he says loudly, pointing at me. Customers starts to look at us once more.

I try to shush him "Don't say it like that! You're making it sound like I'm committing a crime" I say, in a loud whisper "Yeah, they're younger but like by 2 or 3 years"

"You can't date any of them. They're your coworkers!" he said loudly.

"Who said anything about dating them? I just find them attractive, besides, I like it when they call me noona. I've never been called noona before" I smile.

Min-Joon took a long drink of his cup. I worried he was going to drown "Waiter! More water please!" he said.

He seems angry. What did I do now?
