Where You Are

Min-Joon and Yu-Na stayed in the hospital with me as I went through all the tests the doctors and nurses could do on me. They said they found nothing on me, apart from a concussion. They said it must have been when I was being hit by those people and hit the floor, but it was in the same spot as the day when I arrived in this world.

I think back to the dream I had before I woke up here. I felt electricity all over my body and then I woke up here. It's a long shot but maybe, just maybe…if I die here, I can get back home. Maybe dying is the way to get the two main characters together. We're all pretty close, maybe sharing a mutual loss will get them to advance their feelings for each other.

I hit my face with both my hands. Scaring Yu-Na and Min-Joon. I can't be thinking about dying. No, I can't do that. I'll get the two of them together. Dying is not an option.

I have to think of other clichés. Maybe a drowning experience? When we go to the hotel by the beach. I can accidentally tip the boat with Yu-Na and me in it. Since female leads can never swim I can swim to the shore and tell Min-Joon that I can't find her. He can run in and save her.

But I'll be playing with someone's life, that can be considered attempted murder. I have to think of something else. Maybe jealousy. Get Yu-Na to spend some time with Tae-Woo and make sure Min-Joon sees them.

I can always use the drunk confession scene. Those work every time.

"Hannah, are you okay?" Yu-Na asked me.

"I need to use the bathroom" I say and get up from the bed. In the bathroom I look at myself in the mirror.

Oh my God. I have a huge black eye, scratches on my face and bruises in my arms. Wow, that girl gave me one hell of a beating.

As the day goes by I notice Yu-Na yawn a lot "Yu-Na, go home and get some rest" I tell her, but she shakes her head "I'll be fine. I don't want you passing out because you were looking over me all night"

She looked at me and then at Min-Joon.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" she asks me. I nod.

"I'm a big girl" I told her. She gives me a worried smile but still hugs me and leaves.

"I'm really disappointed in you" Min-Joon told me. I look at him. He has an angry expression on his face but behind his eyes, I can see that he is almost in pain "Do you know how worried I was when I couldn't find you?" he said he was worried, but he looked angry.

Min-Joon looked away, maybe trying to see things my way.

"Alright, maybe there is some truth behind your reasoning but…" Min-Joon didn't finish his sentence. He looked at me with worried eyes. This time he wasn't hiding it "Sorry" he said. I looked at him confused.

"Why are you apologizing?" I asked him.

"I didn't protect you" he said. I looked at him surprised. My heart skipped a beat "We went into a den of piranhas and you weren't prepared at all. You were doing so well that I let my guard down and look what happened to you"

The male lead protects the female lead. Why would he want to protect me? He should have walked Yu-Na back to her car. They should have talked a bit more. Min-Joon, why are you here with me?

I placed my hand over my c.h.e.s.t. I could feel my heart beating incredibly fast. No. No. No. No! I can't have feelings for this guy, he's the male lead. I'll be just as bad as Ae-Ra if I like him. No, I don't like him, I just feel touched by his comment.

"If it makes you feel any better, I recorded the whole fight. Maybe I can sue them but I'm sure their families will be angry with you if I do that"

I play the voice recording. Min-Joon though doesn't seem at all happy by what I did. Rather, he took my phone and listened to it more intently. His eyebrows furrowed.

The times when I g.r.o.a.n.e.d in pain where the times where he got even angrier. I start questioning if it was a good idea to let him hear it. I could have just showed it to him rather than play it.

Then the leader in the recording mentioned Ae-Ra. For a moment I had forgotten she was behind this. When the recording stopped I noticed how Min-Joon put his hands into a fists. He was squeezing my phone so I took it from him just in case he brakes it.

"I already cut all ties LV Entertainment had with those girls' families. It'll be a matter of time before the go bankrupt. They'll be so ashamed they'll never show themselves in the public eye ever again" Min-Joon said "But now, I find out Ae-Ra was behind this!"

"Why didn't you tell me?!" he asked me angrily.

"What difference would it have made?" I asked him "She's your childhood friend and she likes you and your family adores her. Heck, even the public likes her, because she's so pretty"

"You're pretty too!" he said loudly. My heart skipped a beat again. He just called me pretty. The male lead called me pretty! Wait…I look like I just walked through hell and came back. He's just saying that to comfort me. I got all excited for nothing.

The patients close by looked at us. They must have thought it was going to be a confession by the grins on their faces.

"This is a hospital. You should keep your voice down" I whisper to him.

"So, what if Ae-Ra is my childhood friend and people like her?! What she did to you is unforgivable. She has to pay for what she did. I mean, look at you" he placed his hand on my face and passed his thumb over my black eye. I quickly flinched because of the sudden pain and unintendedly placed my hand over his.

He and I stared at each other. For some reason I couldn't take my hand off his. What is this feeling?

I decide to continue talking about the incident "So, um…this recording I got" I said. He nodded "Um…even if we take this recording to the cops, Ae-Ra's family will just bail her out and bury any type of news about the incident"

Min-Joon grins at me "We'll just have to make sure they don't bury it" he tells me. He takes out his phone and talks to someone on the other end saying "Hwang Ae-Ra beat up a girl in a bathroom last night…Yeah, the party…The girl was so horribly beaten she was taken to the hospital…What do I want? I want to make sure the article you make stays in top searches for a month…Me? Just call me a concerned citizen" Min-Joon grinned and hung up the phone.

"Who were you talking to?" I asked him.

"Just a reporter" he told me "Do you know how to take down a chaebol?" he asked me. I shook my head. He dialed another number. It was another reporter "You have to use the media"

He kept dialing numbers, saying the same thing, only he always changed the story just a bit. In one, he mentioned that Ae-Ra paid some goons to beat up a poor girl in a bathroom. In another conversation he mentioned that the poor girl was in the ICU.

He kept calling and calling more and more reporters it made me wonder if his contact list was infinite.

"Yu-Na" he said. He called Yu-Na! He even put her in speaker "Can you write an article on what happened to Hannah? Of course, leaving her name out of it"

"I started working on one the moment I left the hospital. Also, I'm not an amateur, of course I'll leave her name out of it" what she said made me feel happy.

"Thank you, Yu-Na" I said.

"By tonight there will be news about the incident. It might even reach the TV screen" Min-Joon told me as he put his phone in his jacket pocket.

"You are really cool Min-Joon" I told him with a smile. He stared at me then looked down, a smile formed on his face.

"Well, I promised myself to protect you" he said. I blink multiple times at him. He looks up at me.

"I mean…you're my secretary. If I can't protect my secretary how can I become the CEO of LV Entertainment?" I sigh with relief. He scared me there for a second.
