Honey Peach: [ Shrinking away from difficulties is my advantage. ]
Just as she sent the message, a voice came from across the room.
“Vasilia?”
Vasilia put the phone down and looked up.
Sitting across from her was a man of respectable appearance. He was not very old.
When Jack saw Vasilia, his eyes lit up.
Obviously Vasilia was his type.
Vasilia looked up and down at the man and asked, “Are you Mr. Cardin?”
“Jack Cardin,” he replied.
The name sounded a little familiar to Vasilia.
Her mother had mentioned the name on the phone before. He was to be her blind date today.
Vasilia nodded politely.
Jack sat down. Vasilia asked curiously, “How old are you, Jack?”
The man told her he was two years younger than Vasilia.
Vasilia was a little shaken in her heart.
Her mother was very open-minded. She knew about the trend of cradle snatchers and introduced her to a younger one.
But she was not very interested in cradle snatchers.
Jack was handsome and young for his age. His family has an excellent background. A few years ago he had been sent abroad to study and now he had returned. His family wanted to help him settle in and arranged a blind date for him.
Vasilia’s aunt didn’t know much about Jack. She was satisfied with his good qualifications and excellent family background.
But after chatting for a while, Vasilia realised that Jack was nothing more than a pretty face.
There were many people who didn’t study well at home who went abroad to study like him. Jack’s advantage was that he was born into a wealthy family.
He was also two years younger. Vasilia was not interested in the subject either.
He liked to talk about where his friends went to play and what rare things he had recently bought. His eyes sparkled with the innocence of his peers.
Vasilia let out a deep sigh.
If she fell in love with him, it would probably be like persuading a child.
Vasilia felt tired listening to his funny story.
When Jack learned that Vasilia ran a wedding planning studio, he asked, “You must have encountered many interesting things in your work.
Vasilia took a bite of dessert and nodded back, “Of course, working with people is always interesting and you can see many sides of human nature.”
Jack nodded as if not quite understanding.
“By the way, are you free this Saturday?” Jack asked.
Vasilia put down her fork, “What’s going on?”
“A friend of mine runs a cafe. It might be suitable for you.” Jack said.
“Huh?”
Jack pursed his lower lip and smiled a bit shyly, “It’s very suitable for a girl like you with a literary and artistic temperament.”
Literary and artistic temperament?
Vasilia licked her lower lip.
The taste of the dessert was still there, a little sweetness on the tip of her tongue.
Did young men nowadays like this type of woman?
There was a certain confusion about Vasilia’s appearance.
She looked a little obedient, with soft black hair hanging down. Her eyes were bright and sparkling. Her appearance made most men feel protective.
Jack, the younger man, was no exception.

Vasilia was not sure if she would be available that day and replied with some reservations, “It depends”.
“Okay, I’ll wait for your answer.” Jack seemed excited. They exchanged contact details before saying goodbye.
Before Vasilia got up, she saw Harvey get up and walk towards her not far away.
He was walking towards the door with his suit on his arm.
At his side was a female companion who seemed inappropriate for greeting at the moment.
Vasilia deliberately looked away, pretending not to see him.
“Knowing your achievements, my father is very happy.” Jane Collins said.
“How has your father been lately?”
“He is still the same. I told him about your concern. He’s quite happy and says he’ll take good care of himself. He would like to have dinner with you sometime in the future.”
“Sure. I’ll visit him at home then.”
