You Of All People

Chapter 162 - Calvin Did

"Maybe or maybe not. Each name listed in the attendees could garner the attention and fervor of the masses. The roads around the area might get congested and the venue to be crowded", replied Alfred as he kept his eyes on the traffic light.

"Hmmm. Then rent the entire road around the venue and the ones leading to the Villa. Closed it all and make it exclusive for the attendees of the event. That way no one's going to be late. If the authorities says a peep about it and won't let us rent the road, then buy the roads or better yet, buy all the land" commanded King as he swirled the champagne flute and watched the bubbles' dance. He felt delighted on how great his idea was.

Meanwhile on another place, Violet swallowed her fear and composed her self. Then answered the video call from her father.

"Hi Daddy!" Violet gleefully greeted to Tony who was seething with anger and worry.

"(Oh, SO YOU STILL KNOW I'M YOUR FATHER! SO YOU STILL KNOW YOU HAVE A FATHER! SO YOU STILL KNOW YOU HAVE PARENTS WHO ARE WORRIED ABOUT YOU! PARENTS WHO THOUGHT YOU GOT KIDNAPPED! PARENTS WHO TRIED CALLING YOU COUNTLESS OF TIMES! PARENTS WHO SEARCHED FOR YOU ALL OVER THE COUNTRY!!! PAREN-)" reprimanded Tony as he poured all his grievances for the past few hours of worrying through the video call.

"I love you Daddy! Daddy's the best! You caught me hehehe. I just wanted to surprise you guys and went ahead to book an advance flight but I guess it was wrong for me to want to surprise you. I'm very sorry Daddy" Violet muttered in her most sickly sweet honey-covered voice she could muster to pacify her father. Violet used two of her most lauded secret weapon: puppy dog eyes and pout.

Like a deflated balloon, Tony's anger immediately subsided and he fell for his daughter's trap.

"(Awww I love you too my darling baby girl. Omooo don't cry! Look! Daddy's not angry anymore. I'm making my surprise face right now! See! Daddy was still surprised!)" Tony was panick-striken when he saw his baby girl's watery eyes and pout.

In the background back at home. Calvin was busy burying his face in the food that he almost missed. Courtesy of his amazing nose, he was able to sniff out the food when he was looking for another way to get inside the house. He came rushing towards the kitchen and imposed on Zane's plate, not minding his father and brother's deathly glare.

When Lorelei saw Calvin's actions, she stood up and went back to cooking another portion for her boys.

When Calvin saw his father's mood turn 180 degrees, he hastily interjected and snapped his fingers at his father.

"(Dad! Focus! The midget was at fault! Don't you go spoiling her again! Reprimand her! Ground her! Punish her! And you pipsqueak! Don't you dare think you'll get away that easily from your disappearing act. Mom and Dad was very worried just so you know!)" scolded Calvin loudly from the other side of the table.

"(No, I am not worried. I already told your father that I know she's here but his anxiety got the the best of him)" Lorelei spoke as she brought over the new batch of food she just cooked then placed down on the table.

"Shut it jerk Calvin! Stop throwing dirt at me" chimed Violet when she heard her brother's accusations.

"(For once I agree with Fourth. You can't always cuddle her Dad. She needs to grow up and own up to herself)" Zane conveyed his thoughts as he dabbed a napkin on his lips.

"(Seeeeeee?! Even First agrees with me! Dad look at your favorite daughter! If you don't get strict with her now, what would you do if the next crazy thing she does was marry the first man she sees in the street?! )" Calvin nodded along with his older brother as his eyes gleamed with mischief.

"You?! As if! I will never do something like that!" shouted Violet as she felt so frustrated and wanted to punch Calvin's face for making things even worst.

Violet looked over at her father's face to read his expression. She really can't say anything against Zane since she's afraid of him but she can't say otherwise to Calvin.

'Daddy's easy to dupe but First's really scary while Calvin's an eyesore. I swear I will definitely get back at you jerk Calvin', were Violet's thoughts as she mulled over on what she should do before her family seal her fate.

Violet stealthily roamed her eyes around the Arcade and suddenly, she an idea. She stood up and walked towards her 'audiences'. She sat down in the middle of the bench, grabbed some of her 'audiences' and faced her phone again to speak to her father.

"Daddy? I'm really sorry. I won't do it again. I just really wanted to surprise you all. Look! I even WORKED SOOOOOO HARD to get you these. My wrists hurts because I really wanted to get you one. Without noticing the time, I got you a lot. I guess you don't want it anymore since you're mad at me. I'll throw it all away", Violet pouted as she acted, wiped her fake tears and observed Tony's reaction from the corner of her sight.

On the other end of the phone, Calvin and Zane were speechless as they saw their youngest appealing to their father's weakness.

'Aren't I supposed to be the Actor in the family?', lamented Calvin while watching Violet's show playing right in front of him.

"(Sigh. The battle's been lost)" Zane sighed in defeat and didn't bothered himself with their sister anymore as he busied himself in eating his round two.

"(Really baby? Omgggggg don't throw it away. Give it to Daddy. I will cherish those since they're your gift. I'm not mad! Who said I'm mad huh?)" Tony gushed at his daughter through the screen of the phone as he wished he could travel into to hug Violet.

"Calvin did" Violet 'whimpered' accusingly to her father.
